For anyone having issues removing or re-installing a skid, Use ratchet straps to compress it, and insert 2 pieces of 1x1 wood across the width of the track, between the hyfax and the track. Ensure they come out far enough so you can pull the skid out on them, as if they were rails. This makes installation a breeze as well. ;)
Good video 👍. Questions about the gearing. Just got my fusion 700 track in 136 x 1.75. what would you recommend for gears. Stock is 26 top 40 bottom. Dealer recommends 24 top 41 bottom. Thanks for your reply
Sounds about right. I geared down when I went to a 136" I can't remember what it was though. I sacrificed top speed for better corner to corner performance.
I realize this is an old thread but I would like to know how this worked for you. Did you have to re gear the chain drive? I'm not worried about losing top end speed, those days are over for me. Would you do it agian?
I had the sled for 3 seasons like this and I had zero issues. I rode it pretty hard and not one issue with the rails or the extensions. I’d do it again. As far as hearing. I did go down but nothing drastic. It was a great corner to corner machine. Top end really didn’t suffer.
is the suspension the same on a 2008 polaris fst? and do you have to extend the tunnel if converted to 136??? I have a 121'' want to convert to 136 just because its heavy and gets stuck lots lol killer trying to get that sled unstuck fast as hell thou :)
Yes and Yes. This kit kit will work on the FST 121" rails. I had a 2006 Polaris FST with the 128" M10 (Check out the rest of my channel) and the weight was the main reason I sold it. GREAT trail sled but not the best when you wanted to take it off trail.
Do you need a new suspension or its only rail extension and new longer track ?? I want to extend the track of my polaris indy 500 classic 1998 because it is only 121 inches. I can’t find someone that can explain clearly what I need. Im french so it is difficult to listen to english, im better at reading.
What is the skid mounting info in the tunnel how far down from top of tunnel distance between front and rear holes and the distance from front drive shaft to front hole thank you
I'm in the process of doing a 1998 XLT classic from a 121 to 136 track I saw another video where a gentleman said he did one but he said he had to lower his 2 inches to center it can anybody explain to me what that mite detail
+dorothy hipps If you're just buying the extension rails. There's nothing else that you need to do since you're only affecting the overall length. More than likely the other video you watched the person was replacing the entire skid from a different sled. Thanks for watching and please subscribe and click on the bell to receive all of the videos on the channel
Is is just a fusion or a switchback. The 900 switchback could accommodate a 2” but the drivers on the axle were smaller. Best thing is to measure the existing distance with the setup you have now.
Just checked SLP's site and they don't offer anything for Arctic Cat. You would need to go with the rail extensions that Tracks USA offers. www.tracksusa.com/F-Series--Z1---07---11--Crossfire-R--09---11-detail.htm?productId=-438926&browse=-47266&shopBy=-13183&catalogId=-3708
When I look on the slp website and when I look to order the rails on eBay the picture don't show the mounting hardware. Will it come with the hardware anyway
If it's an Fusion/IQ, check the harness where the hood is. It has a tendency to rub through and cause a short. Also check the speed sensor in the bearing cup underneath the secondary. Look for any metal fragments stuck to it. If there is, the bearing needs to be replaced.
+Nick Stone I have had zero issues with this setup. I've come down hard on the backend and you would have never known it. Thanks for watching and please subscribe
Clutching is still all stock. I did change the gears though to 22 on the small to 40 on the large. Used the same chain. Stock gearing is 23 / 39. The change makes it more responsive out of the hole. I love it. Thanks for watching!
+Chad O'Neill None at all. I knew the stock snow flap was going to be too short so I replaced it a longer one from a RMK and it works perfectly. www.provendesignproducts.com/Pages/Transition/Snowflap_Pro_RMK.html
One would think that. But I ran it for 3 seasons and never had an issue with it. If you look at my channel, I have my stepsons Fusion 600 but it has the IceAge 136” full extension rails with a very similar track. We rode each others sled over the course of the season and unless you knew about it, you couldn’t tell the difference. As far as durability, I’ve had it on its rear bumper with some “spirited” riding and never had any damage. 😀
After it is all installed and put together, Spin the track off the ground and measure each side to the rail to check for alignment.
Would have been nice if those extensions had slider mounting channels designed into them
not really needed.
My thoughts exactly.. This looks like a giant rip off to me.

Great tip on the 1x1
Nice old track skewerd onto the trailer for grip
Absolutely, you need to find something to use them for!!!

Do they make longer extensions than what you have for other years and makes too rather than buying like a 144 inch skid?
Yes they do. Check out there website. I think they go up to 144"
I know this is six years old but what do you think appropriate gearing would be for my 2002 xc edge for the 136 kit? 22/40?
I'm pretty sure that's what I went with.

No problem. For this type of setup all you need are the rail extensions and the longer track and that’s it.
What is the skid mounting info in the tunnel how far down from top of tunnel distance between front and rear holes and the distance from front drive shaft to front hole thank you
Not sure. I sold the sled.
i don’t know a ton about snowmobiles but i’m looking to do this to 93 skidoo mach 1, if i can find a kit that works with mine is the process similar?
Yes. Process is the same.
Are you able to use the same track or do you need to buy a new one to fit the new extension
. You would need to get the correct length track.
lol your kidding right?

thx, im thinking of extending my 2006 fst iq touring from 136 to 144 if possible
Yes it is
The sled looks awesome! I could be wrong, but you're not originally from MA are you lol
Thanks and I am. Lol
@@StreetersGarage you're blessed without the awful accent I have then 🤣 you have me searching for a Fusion now! Thank you!
I keep it in check. Lol.
The 600 Fusions are a great value. I loved mine.
How tall of track does the tunnel have clearance for in this machine. Looking at doing it but wonder if a 2" paddle would clear front heat exchanger

@@StreetersGarage just a regular fusion....but if I put the switchback drivers it would work I guess.
Yes. You would to change the entire axle.

Where can I buy this kit I currently own a 2007 Arctic cat f6 with a 121 track and want to make it to a 136 with a 1.75 lug

Hey how did u find out wat size extensions? Those are the 7.5inch ext. How do u do the math for wheel and all to find length
They're standard length based on the year of the sled and the length you need to go too. It's listed on the SLP web site.
@@StreetersGarage thmx man got em on order same part # as yours
When I look on the slp website and when I look to order the rails on eBay the picture don't show the mounting hardware. Will it come with the hardware anyway
+Thomas Patenaude yes. It comes with everything you need for the install.
Streeters Garage even if the picture doesn't say it doesn't?
+Thomas Patenaude
It's sold as a complete kit. All of the hardware and axles spacers are included.
Streeters Garage ok thanks so much!

No problem. Glad I could help.

Not needed for this style setup. Ran it like this for 3 seasons and no issues.
