Have you ever considered doing like a top 3 video and comparison of your favorite radios in the different categories. For example handheld, portable, and like table top categories. Thanks for all the good info.
Thanks for the overview on this Retekess radio, that screen will make DXING like roulette especially outside.
The reason the 5940KHZ sounded bad is that it should have been 5935KHZ WWCR the similar priced Raddy sounds like a better deals.

I've been waiting for this review! I got my TR635 in November, and I love it - it's my go-to radio. Reception on all bands is excellent here in suburban central New York State. (I do use an external antenna.) I usually keep the tone control set to low - the sound is richer. When my radio is standing upright, the backlight never interferes with reading the LCD display. An issue on some but not all units? I also liked that it runs on D batteries - perfect for a power outage.
I'd get into to it and solder a potentiometer wired as a variable resistor in line with the LED display. Or at least a fixed resistor to take the brightness down about half of it's current level.
That's a classy looking radio - gives out Panasonic vibes.
In addition to spitting out countless of models, maybe Retekess can work on improving their existing ones.

Nice radio Todderbert! I have The Retekess TR629 Portable FM/AM/SW Radio Digital Recorder with USB and TF/SD ports for music! Wish it had Bluetooth as well but for having a recorder feature with USB and SD is well worth the purchase!!!
Based on this video, I think I will pass on this one. But that’s the great value of all of your videos.
Looks like the smaller brother to the Retekess TR629 which had a bad start due to buzzing noise from a T-sens.

God morgon Todderbert thanks for your review of the Retekess TR-635 i think i skip this one me looking for more XHDATA radios to buy and, also some new pocket radios to buy. And i have a new radio on the way, it is the SY-8801 upgraded version with shortwave, so it will be interesting to test it when it arrives take care Todderbert and have a great weekend.

Another radio in this form factor, which I really like, with the back of the handle unfinished, which annoys me more than it ought to. :)
It's hard to tell while watching on my phone but it seems like the tone control would benefit from a mid/neutral setting

I’ve become more interested in daytime medium wave DXing. There’s little competition on the daytime band and reception is more easily improved. Which radios would you recommend as the better daytime DXers? My CC Skywave, Sangean ATS-405, Eton Elite Traveler III, Sony ICF19 and Panasonic RF2400 all do well.
CC Radio 2E/3, EP-Pro, Sangean PR-D5, D15 are a few good ones. Classics like the GE Superadio, and RF-2200 are worthwhile pickups.
