I was SOOOO disappointed when I saw the movie, because how rushed the story felt. I never cared to know if I got credits in any film after this. And the amount of creative changes we were getting. Like it just FEELS so much like a direct to DVD movie. Meanwhile Del Toro's Pinocchio is a movie that RADIATES passion and love for the craft of animation.
My parents even watched it and they HARDLY ever watch animations anymore. Takes a lot of convincing. But they loved it. And I love it. It's a gorgeous movie. I loved how the Life and Death sisters were like these biblically accurate designs and the concepts of life and death and what makes life meaningful, and what makes family family and the voice work and just EVERYTHING about it is incredible. Not downplaying how beautifully animated the original was, but something about Del Toro's Pinocchio, the lovely songs and the amazing character designs, it just stuck with me a lot. Amazing movie, and I wanna see Del Toro produce even more animated/stop motion content (Yes I know he was in charge of Trollhunters; Trollhunters was amazing until the third season, we don't talk about 3Below, and Wizards was... all right).
Halo: I am absolutely BAFFLED at how badly they bungled it. I'm thankful I never watched it, but holy shit I didn't realize how bad the animation was. It looked like the episode in Halo Legends "The Package", except that animation was pure 3D and had an excuse to look like that, because it was stylized. It really makes me despise hollywood, it's hard to look forward to much besides the technical achievements always being made in VFX.

One thing you guys didn't note on in the video, but what really takes me out at times with the Disney one is the color grading. Like at 4:10 , look at the levels of saturation between Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio compared to the rest of the shot. The colors of the animated characters are popping off the screen, while the rest of the picture is very desaturated and grey. They don't look like they're in the same world at all. It could have been a deliberate choice at some point to make the animated characters feel like they're more "magical" and otherwordly, but it's just distracting with the otherwise photorealistic look.
Edit: I guess they probably talk about this in the extended version, but I'm not going to pay just to find out :P

We painted, added details, and he even made custom parts for specific scenes. His amazing and it gave me an incredible respect to stop motion animators.

The series follows a cadet in training, where there base ends up getting attacked. It’s is such a cool and original concept as we never see the franchise in said peoples perspective.
Not the best cgi in the world, but I think it still looks pretty amazing

I know this might be ALOT of work for you guys but for the 100th episode. One idea is to gather all scenes you have reacted to throught this whole time and make a vote on the best 100 scenes. Relive them again and maybe have some new ideas. I am not saying this is a good idea. Merely, an idea. Love to you guys, from Sweden. You do not know how much you have helped me, keep my head up, the last 2 years.

More video like this please. I love when they look at the janky effects the best.

I'm just grateful for the fact that I'm not the only one still nerding out at the Halo movie concept all this time later.
If I would suggest anything, it'd be comparisons between Star Trek DS9's effects and those of its contender at the time, Babylon 5.

Thanks for another cool episode. You don't cover live TV or sports at all. What I mean is the tech for the AR elements in live TV like line of scrimmage on a green field, weather channel "instant TV" (acts like it pops out from the floor), nascar car tracker, or the ads dropped into baseball/basketball/football games. The history of the chyron. These augmentations are really cool and some of them use advanced tech so they are not very complex to run during the show. Even the tech behind the Volume at ILM Stagecraft gets used for live TV. Kinda. Still it's cool stuff you could cover.

I know you've looked at Who Killed Roger Rabbit before but to me it's practically the peak of mixing hand drawn animation and live action. There's a lot there to look at again.
Last Action Hero did some too, mostly as a in joke but it was well done.
