Lacing your blades in healing potions would be a cool way to spar.
If health potions worked this way then just dip all your crossbow bolts in health potions and sit at a distance shooting your fighter in the back while they are in melee combat. Infinite health.

I once had a alchemist character who was still in learning. Well he was not the brightest of the party. He'd forget to label the potions or would make the wrong one. So you can imagine how much chaos that would cause

Lacing your blade in healing potions would be a cruel way to torture someone.
And now I am reminded of that anime from last season 'The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic' where the MC literally laced his punches with healing magic
I like that it actually looked as if she was realistically holding onto the sword and that his pulling away was doing nothing ....so often it's not done quite right and looks fake

Best collab we didn't know we needed
So I got a story. We were playing a home brew campaign in a Mucky swamp earlier they raided a witches hut and found a mysterious potion. No odor no color. One adventure later they found themselves fighting cultists and one of the party members got downed. They were desperate and poured the unknown liquid on them. It was a delayed poison, it could be applied silently and after 3 turns would deal 30 damage. So she died XD it was still really funny.

I once saw a BG3 solo Shart defeat the Forge boss by dropping a potion on the ground and getting crushed with the Automaton under the forge hammer. The potion prevented her death.

A healing oil for application to weapons would be a pretty neat potion.
You could probably call it "gladiator's blood" with the lore being that its intended for use by gladiators as a means of not killing each other, meaning that they can fight way more aggressively in the arena.
