I'd say the people who fucked up were the guys naming this because this movie is based on the Russian story derived from Pinocchio called Buratino, who is nothing like Pinocchio
The wild thing is, the talking horse in the intro LITERALLY MENTIONS NOSES GROWING and then that somehow never pays off. They not only fucked up Pinocchio, they then _forgot_ that they fucked up Pinocchio and wrote an intro claiming they did it right.
@@christopherhale3140 I sadly watched the entire movie and the horse explains at the beginning that his nose doesn't grow and that the true story of Pinocchio had nothing to do with the nose, hence the name "Pinocchio: A True Story" I do like to think that the writers forgot to add that into the movie, but I'm pretty sure they were going for something 'different' since every Pinocchio movie has the nose growing theme, but they just ended up making a very boring movie

I think their choice of Pauly Shore was deliberate to get free marketing attention on Twitter and tiktok

I’ve noticed something with Razzle’s commentaries: the worse the movie’s rep is, the funnier the commentary is. And this is easily their funniest so far.
Edit: ok so maybe a lot of their commentaries on movies that are good are funny, but I think the way they make fun of the bad movies makes them funnier.

Every movie who’s animation has looked like THAT has never been anything good. You could say Hoodwinked was an exception, but it basically tried to be fairy tail parody after the success Shrek.

The funny thing is this isn’t the first time a foreign Pinocchio film got an absolutely bonkers English dub with an extremely unfitting voice for the title character, since the 2002 English dub of Roberto Benigni rendition had freaking Breckin Myer voicing Pinocchio of all people, so it’s funny how history repeats itself .
If I had a nickel for every time an English translation of Pinocchio was incredibly Sus and absolutely bizarre, I would have 2 nickels

in the first russian "adaptation" of pinoccio (which was written by aleksey tolstoy like 80 years ago and where the boy is called buratino) his nose never grows
he just doesn't have this ability
