  • In this video we look at a £40 budget Chinese radio the Quansheng TG-UV2-PLUS the supposed high power revamp of this popular radio, will it live up to the specs on the box and how will it compete with the other so called high power sets?

    I fell in love Quangsheng radios after a review from Radiosification.
    I bought eight of them for me and my friends and I have no regrets.
    I bought the UV-R50 but I'll also try out the TG-UV2-PLUS although I have chills about this one.
    The Baofeng in this review didn't do bad though
    Great review

      Yes for the money is a belter as are the other 2 radios on test here, it's not all about power but I like the fact it does actually output it's rated power, normally you have to pay for top brands for that.

    Hi knoxieman. What would you say about tyt th-uv8000d vs tg-uv2-plus? Which is better? I have uv8000d, but i can still return it to the shop and i am wondering if tg-uv2plus will be better? UV8000d has 10W too. I am wondering also, maybe the quansheng has better stock antenna than tyt and therefore it results in stronger signal in your test? It would be great that u would do the test again, BUT using the same antenna on all three radios. That test would be the best u can test actually. Every radio with its own antenna: the difference could be mostly because of the antenna itself... Please advice me on the choice between tyt and quansheng. Quansheng is more pricey, costing around 30 bucks more.

      @johnarcher9480 Před 2 lety +1

    i have a several Baofeng radios rated 12 watts. Using power meter, you are lucky if you have one that puts out 7 or 8 watts. Most triple power puts out 1,3, 5 watts max.

    Yo le he cambiado la antena, por una Retevis 701. Deberías probarla! 👍

    Try comparing and contrasting the Baofeng UV-H7 and the Tidradio TD-H6 10W radios with the Quangsheng. They're all very good radios at budget prices. The H7s, though, are crippled by the fact that batteries are unavailable in the USA. I'm really drawn to the H6 radios. No flashlight and all radio. The H7 also has no flashlight, but you can use the bright display as a flashlight

    Hi to you from Israel.
    My friends and I travel through the desert with HT devices.
    Don't need another band. No other frequencies are listened to either.
    Which it is. We need a long transmission range.
    So which device is under $50 best for us?

    • @knoxieman
      @knoxieman  Před 3 lety +2

      The retevis RT5 is a very punchy radio if you are on a budget however if you can stretch to it this radio is top class in terms of power, on the cheap radios look to change the antenna this will improve performance, if you can get a magnetic mount and roof mount the antenna that will make a huge difference, using radios inside the car isn't great for range.

    • @0522777004

      @@knoxieman How many watts is that? Compared to the competition?
      I mean real power.
      And besides, which baofeng is the strongest?

    • @knoxieman
      @knoxieman  Před 3 lety +2

      RT5 is 5 watts, I wouldn't focus too much on power, all of the budget radios are very similar, just a standard UV5R with a decent antenna should be OK, you can buy folding tactical antennas if you want better range. Diamond make some good antennas for HT radios but buy from a reputable retailer because there are fakes about.

    Hello, thank u for making the video! Would like to check with you on the battery life, is it able to let u have perhaps 2 days of usage? Im comparing the uv2+ & ZT A19, the A19 biggest weakness to me is the smaller battery of 2800mAh tho i do like its dual ptt & easy-to-setup crossband repeater.
