    I'm living in this secondary fear all the time. Stay in the present moment and not in a future event. Thx for making it so clear

    Claire Weekes was the best. She originally told people to cut back meds because it hindered learning. She taught people how to cope with life.

      Didn’t she always say “take your tranquilizer but only as described by your doctor” ?

    The biggest take I got from Claire Weekes is to find a different point of view, to get us off that track and onto another brighter one

      dig this: anxiety is a sign that you are a higher-frequency being engaging with lower-frequency aspects of the world

    Years ago I was introduced to Clare weeks. I have suffered with anxiety since age 9...i grew up with a father who suffered with severe anxiety and depression from ww2.. Pretty sure he suffered with it all his life.. It was bad. When he passed in 1991 I found her book among his stuff. It was her original book from the 60s...I started buying all her books and cds to listen to in the car and I have to say it pulled me out for a while. Great advice and stuff in her book . I don't know what I would have done without it..but when this symptom of balance and dizziness not vertigo but on a boat feeling came on gradually from extreme stress it's been hard to apply what she says...I've had so many different symptoms all my life and I can tell you that I would trade any of them back for this one...lol...at least I could function with the other ones. Using her techniques helps conciderably.. Also she was a sufferer too and knew what we deal with... I wish she was still around...when I listen to her soothing voice I feel confident and better emotionally. Thank you Dan for mentioning this great woman. She was a pioneer in all this and helped so many people...

    Truth spoken here. I prolonged numerous symptoms with worst case scenario thinking. Listen to Dan. . Breathe, put your hand over your heart, and stay present.

    I've just subscribed to your channel last week and made a comment on one of your videos yesterday. In the afternoon I was sorting out some books that I'd stored away and I came across a few self help books I bought in the 90's as I was suffering severe nerve problems and stomach issues. I found Clare Weeks book 'Self help for your nerves' and I read through some of it and remembered how much it helped me at the time. This morning I got up and this was in my feed❤

    it’s *so fascinating* to me how much secondary fear I ‘go through’ . hmm, not really ‘go through’, but ‘watch occurring’ . I see myself, this enlightened being, and what’s on his mind is so often runaway thought trains on worry tracks, into worry zone . I keep reminding myself that I’m not really on that train, and the train disintegrates like an apparition . then again, and again, and again . I’m not complaining: I just think it’s so fascinating! . that I have such love for all in my heart, and I know that to worry is worse than useless, yet I observe this worrier, almost like an aspect of me is made to worry and just wants to do its thing

  • @rmschindler144
    @rmschindler144 Před 5 měsíci +2

    ooh, I like this! (BTW, pardon me for commenting so much) . I like that 2nd-ary fear is the building-out of a reality based on lovelessness - ie based on that primary fear . I instantly think: add love to the mix, which remembers me who I am, and deprives the whole thing of any seriousness (I prefer sincerity over seriousness; in sincerity we play, in seriousness we work; the world I am making for myself is a world of play)

    I live in this secondary fear all the time :( Its a learned response and so automatic. Thx for mentioning Claire Weekes, just listened to her for first time, she is good. Her stuff applies to CFS/ME, and all chronic conditions I guess. Thx Dan for all your videos !

  • @deirdrefinnegan5436
    @deirdrefinnegan5436 Před 5 měsíci +4

    Yes, for sure has been my problem. There’s also the third level of fear after you’re somewhat aware of what’s going on. For me that looks like self judgment. “Come on you know what’s going on here why are you so upset about it?” What has helped me as multilevel acceptance. Just accepting whatever fear stage I happen to be in. That gives me the space to pass through it easier.

    Again, wow! Thank you thank you Dan! Thanks to you I have made some amazing tried and true progress! Guess what? I gave some commands to my brain with grace, and it rewired and listened! I am mind blown! I was having symptoms every time I did something specific. Kindly gave it specific instructions and now those symptoms are GONE! Thanks Dan, couldn’t have done it without your guidance ❤ and this is just the beginning.

    Great daily. I needed to hear this as fear/worry about my life beyond my back pain definitely keeps me in discomfort. Too much stressing about imaginary things that will likely never happen is my number #1 challenge in recovery. Thanks Dan

    Ahhhh such a great reminder dan 🙌❤️🦄 definitely need to remember this again and its almost like doing self kindness and acceptance for the first fear, and knowing ive got a choice EVERY TIME to follow the path of the second fear. Its a similar concept to the Buddhist tale of the two arrows 🏹. Dan ive recently heard of clair weeks-the book you mention, do you think it would be beneficial to read esp those of us doing alot of anxiety ?(like does clair follow the same sort of way of teaching u do?)thankyou 🙏❤️

    I am living with constant pain in my chest. It is indigestion but in the uk they won’t see to my digestive system until I have an ulcer or cancer. Great to look forward to 😢granted I’m 74 and I suppose it’s going to be a steady decline of my poor health. 😢

      Imo the doctors in UK are smart. I went to gastro doctors in USA. It cost a ton of money and was useless. They cannot fix heartburn or constipation and diarrhea. Probiotics and eating no processed foods help. Doing what Dan says helps too.

      Out of self kindness I used papaya tablets for heartburn. At one point had to take stronger meds. These physical treatments are not the full solution, safety is.
