    Keep those messenges coming Dan. I've been on the Sarno/Buglio path since September last year. Since then my back pain is 95% history after over 20 years of struggle. The words that hit home were ' you are not broken', ' you are not in danger'. My brain must have been convinced that it was broken as well as in danger. In the meantime I've by coincidence met two people here in the Netherlands that have had the same results. People out there investigating and finding there way in the TMS/PDP; keep at it.
    Dan, I can't thank you enough for all the work and encouragement!! Loads of love!

    For me it’s helpful to disconnect from current life stressors and at the same time connect with a past pattern or limited belief.
    I realize that I’m still looking through a lens of my past identity and therefore am stuck in my pain/ symptoms..
    Thanks for the clarity.. time to put more effort in disconnecting those 2.
    I’m not that old traumatized being anymore so I have to act and believe like it.
    Every day , every video brings new insights.. Thanks Dan❤

    Sometimes people asks themselves what’s their trigger. It can be so subtle.
    I read from a man who had headaches all the time when he was in his living room watching his favorite football game on tv.
    He got so frustrated. I love football, i am safe in my living room so why is my brain giving me those headaches..
    Further talk with a Tms coach revealed that he was sad to know his friends were in a pub looking and laughing together at this football match. He felt can old rejection - wound from his childhood, of not belonging to a group .. when he started to go out to that pub or inviting friends in his living room to watch together, his headaches were never there.
    I just wanted to share this example, of how subtle and subconscious a trigger can be❤

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes, the perceived danger is often in the subconscious. Subtle, yet very real. Thank you for sharing this example. It's a great one.

      @@chrishairston8867 we don’t have to know our triggers. Even if we did, what do we do about that? I think we jump right to reminding ourselves that were actually OK and that any trigger, whatever it is, is no reason to turn on symptoms or increase them.

I eat and drink absolutely anything I want now. After I started being afraid of the symptoms and food and drink, things started to change. My joint pain is a lot better too. You have been a HUGE help. I used to say it's easy to lower symptoms when life is smoothe. I got hit last May w a long ago symptom. More of an extremely annoying one vs intense pain, a very uncomfortable one. One that Dr sarno personally helped me with, one I started therapy with someone he referred to me.
    I remember thinking the true test is lowering symptoms when life is difficult which it surely will be.

    For some reason if I socialize too much and that includes sometimes just talking on the phone, it stresses me out and then symptoms come on. Too much contact with friends and family triggers anxiety. I feel like I've shrunken my world. Why do I feel others drain me? I had an anxiety attack yesterday because I had 3 long talks with friends in one day. I'm usually already in pain even before the call. I did try to tell my brain that ai'm going to allow this anxiety to play out on its own, I just don't know why I get triggered.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 4 měsíci +4

      Set the expectation before, during and after the call that there is NO reason to be triggered. And if it does happen, respond as calmly as possible.

      You say nothing is helping. Begin by not calling yourself "sick". Digestive issues are very often a response to the brain incorrectly perceiving danger. Safety is the solution. But what about if we are dealing with a truly dangerous situation?
    My anxiety peaked yesterday. My 3 yo son is severely allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts. His 8 months old sister isn’t, but in order to decrease the risk of her developing allergies, we need to give her some peanuts and nuts 3x/week.
    We explored all of our options, but there is no other choice than to feed her the allergens in presence of her brother for the next several years. Despite every precaution, the risk of him being exposed to a particule of allergen is definitely real.
    So my brain definitely doesn’t believe me when I’m telling it that despite the stress, all is safe… because it isn’t!
    What do you do in these situations?
    Thanks!!

This headache and eye pain doesn't go away even after two or more hours of break. What should I do to break my this association?
    I am pretty sure that my symptoms are TMS because it sometimes radiates down to eyes, teeth, nose and back of head. Also, My all test reports are normal.

      In Dan’s fast start play list is 6 steps to resuming activity. Listen to them all. Studying is safe. For me head aches are about me pressuring myself with to much. Might be evaluate how you can be less perfect, give yourself a break…
      I got headaches before trips because I would try to get a bunch of chores done, clean the house, pack… before the trip. It was impossible expectations. First trip the headaches lasted over 6 months. It did give me the opportunity to learn I could do Dan’s work & it would work. Another trip I started doing it again. Woke up one morning with a bad headache. I immediately started changing my plans and by lunch pain was gone.
      I am still working on other symptoms but we can do this!

    I have a question, one of the most difficult symptoms for me is insomnia. When i try a accupressure mat before sleeping, i could sometimes fall asleep. @@elisabethj6613 it could be, that your brain subconsciously believes the use of the acupressure mat means that there is something wrong with you that you were trying to fix. That could be a indication of danger. Then, when the brain perceives danger, symptoms can increase.

    Hi Dan, but what about limiting beliefs e.g. I am not good enough (after getting negative feedback at work). Which follows with a lot of negative thinking and insecurity. My therapist says that these old patterns (just as fear for the pain is al onld pattern) need to be reframed by FEELING the opposite at that moment and STOP the thinking loop. But you are saying this does not need to happen? So when my pain flares because of these old patterns in my head, I only need to stay calm? And continuous negative thinking about yourself does not need to stop?
