      @@rpotter99 Yes. I didn’t have any surgeries because I refused but many incorrect diagnoses. I also did Curable and Curable Groups and was so impressed with the way Jim Prussack explained things that he was vital to my recovery. It is still a little work every day to maintain this.

    Mindfulness meditation helped me relieve the pain. It took an eastern philosophy approach to observe the pain, feel it, etc. It's not easy but it helped tame the anxious thoughts about it. I was following some exercises in the book "30 Days to Reduce Stress" by Daniles that worked well.

      Somebody else may comment, just wanted to say I was a “book cure” 7 years ago. It took 3 readings of Dr Sarno’s Mindbody Prescription but it healed my back pain and digestive issues.
      I recently lost my best friend of 38 years and a mother figure both within a short period and my symptoms came back. I’m back to watching success videos and doing the work. A lot has changed since Sarno yet a lot has stayed the same.
      Wishing you a full recovery!

    What do you think about secondary gain or benefit?
    Dr. Sarno rejects it - i.e., the idea that people with chronic pain use it to get certain benefits like attention or sympathy.
    But in certain cases it could play a definitive role. I am a little bit confused with that concept.

    • @the1stime
      @the1stime Před 10 měsíci

      Someone may chime in…Personally I’ve found the secondary gains apply to some but not all. I believe it depends on each person’s values and beliefs. I find it good for each person to ask themselves “How might I be benefiting from my pain/illness?” and write about it…question it…write new beliefs about it, re-question it, etc
