That's me in horror games, the only one I recorded which was recently being Among the Sleep, and one I never recorded; C.A.S.E Animatronics
In case animatronics I just hide under a desk and don't move an inch because the stupid animatronic won't move away from this one spot in the room I'm hiding in AFTER I hid there (good thing is unless I get in its FOV it doesn't come after me, bad thing is, I can't leave the room.)
I love how the character is so intensely focused on interviewing ghosts instead of helping her 3 friends escape a murderer

Harvey is definitely one of my favorite characters. Not only is he the most intelligent character, but he was trying to do everything in his power to fix what he could. Plus, unlike Dr. Bose, he didn’t take shit from anyone.

Can we appreciate the acting in this? You can tell the actors really worked hard on the characters and their motivations. Really awesome.

They did really well. A lot of games either focus too much on graphics or too much on acting. This game really put their all into both aspects.

At the same time: Literally no one else staying there, allowing Jimmy and Maya to run around in the middle of the night without disturbing anyone. (With a music festival happening nearby the next day, might I add.)

How you would make that effect, visually, is fairly simple. You render the flat scene of the man walking in the hallway to a texture each frame, and send that texture to a shader that maps it to a sphere. You can make the background any color afterwards (technically, first) and render the UI on top of it all

Mark's strategy for mystery games: guess clues randomly, then stumble on the solution by chance and say "I knew it all along! I'm a genius!"
I’m very happy Mark got into the habit of using the mirror in the kitchen, because using the mirror actually lets jimmy know EXACTLY where you are.

I’ve seen nothing in the game to suggest that, when most things are explained in this game, especially it’s comprehensive tutorial. The flickers of Jimmy in the mirror is a good way of showing he’s been alerted by its use, or how close he would be, but that’s just conjecture.
Mark, some tips about Jimmy:
He is unable to chase you in the lobby floor and the basement. He also can't follow you into the storerooms or the stairs. Those are safe places.
He announces his presence on your floor with a taunt ("I smell a bad egg", or similar). He is not present on that floor until then.
Like so Mark can see this.
P.S. you would know all this if you watched the tutorial. which you should, anyway; it's really well made.
Another tip: You can lock him in rooms. If you hide in the wardrobe, sometimes he'll come in and hide in the bathroom to wait for you. It's a different door sound when he does this. He won't grab you as soon as you walk by the bathroom (he might only get you if you go in? I'm not sure), so you can leave the room, turn around, and lock it. I don't know how long it keeps him there, but probably helpful if you need to get somewhere nearby
Also please read the "Jimmy and DID" thing on the menu at some point! None of the youtubers I've watched play it so far have shared what that is. My boyfriend and several of my friends have DID and this game handles it remarkably well for a horror game. There are a lot of really negative stereotypes and misconceptions out there about it, so it would mean a lot to those who have it
We all know Mark, though, and he needs all the help he can get.
All excellent tips! Just wanted to add Jimmy can eventually chase you on the lobby floor and basement but the game will let you know when that's a possibility.

@@shinigamigirl666 Just wanna add something about locking Jimmy in the room. When he's hiding in the bathroom, make sure to get out of the room straight away and lock it. Don't click at other stuff (bathroom, spy glass, etc), or else, he will catch you. I've seen this on another channel. Also, never enter a dark room when you know he's chasing after you, because there's no wardrobe to hide into so he knows that you're hiding in the bathroom.

I've often thought that Mark would enjoy messing around with 3d printing. It's got the mechanical engineering side, the CAD if you wanna make your own designs, and the programming with GCode commands that lets you do some wacky stuff (I saw somebody attach a spoon to a printer the other day and use it to mix pancake batter). Plus, you get something physical out of it as a result of your efforts, and that's always satisfying.

FR it might be even worse than the loud jump scares 💀
FNAF was scary because it had an anticipated jumpscare, but that got old after the first few times around. This game has a very unanticipated jumpscare, meaning you will either freak out after being caught totally off guard, or you will spend most of the game on the edge of your seat. It's nice, it scary, it's refreshing, and it's a good story!
In both cases, it's the atmosphere that gets you rather than the jumpscare itself. In every good horror game it's all about the atmosphere.
It's not just the anticipated jumpscares it's also the audio and visual used to also catch people off guard the jump scares is just the icing. 24:06 for example was hilarious.

They should've made it so that if he's real close and you stare through the spyhole he stares back at you. That would be so fucking scary.
I think he actually does, if you hover around the peephole long enough. I played this game a while ago, and I can seem to remember, I looked through a peephole for quite a while, and Jimmy came either extremely close to the peephole, or stared through it at me. I just don't think our Markimoo has spent enough time looking through them for this to trigger.
@@bradleywalker9940 Ooooh, yeah I never played this game I just watch playthroughs but I remember this one horror game I played. Idk what it was called but it was so freaking scary. You were in a old crusty hotel and you could look through the keyholes and there was one memorable scary ass moment where you'd peek through the keyhole and someone was like right there staring directly at you.

One thing I noticed that helps make this less scary is that there will always be a jump scare before a story moment. So if he's at a location where the mirror or compass told him to be, there will be a jump scare.
Jimmy on the other hand, will always be scary.

The horror in this game is masterfully done. There are actually quite few jump scares, the hotel itself provides such an amazingly creepy atmosphere.
I know right? Something about being stalked and chased is just really unsettling.
and the way she exits rooms and elevators increases the anxiety as well.
I would love a prequel to this game. Where like you play as Jimmy doing all this stuff or your plying as all the people he killed.
