Considering the game doesn't actually reset when Jimmy attacks, does that mean, canonically, Jimmy has just beat the ever loving shit out of Maya? Drags her away, lets her escape just hunt to her down again? That makes Jimmy way worse.
It is really weird that he tied up all of Maya's friends but doesn't tie her up after catching her. I think it's one of two things. Either Jimmy keeps letting her escape as an act of resistance against Hugo or it's Hugo letting her escape to keep hunting her down for fun.
YeH it’s canon he doesn’t kill her (you’ll see at the very end tho he stops just knocking her out) he enjoys the game and wants to keep her around as his equal.

This game is like what most of my nightmares are about: being chased around and around in circles by some scary entity, and you always manage to stay pretty far ahead of them, but it's still scary because there's _no way out._

Harvey is my favorite character in this game. despite everything jimmy had done at that point and how angry he was at him, when the fire started Harvey still went down to try and get jimmy out of the basement so he wouldn't die down there. His actions might seem extreme sometimes but he's genuinely just frustrated with everything jimmy had done. And he still had a heart and cared about others.

dr bose did sort of try to force him to take medication. chasing a patient around a building to administer drugs is flat out unethical, no matter how concerning the behaviour of that patient is (especially considering dr bose "underestimated jimmy's condition"). jimmy still sucks, and i respect the help bose was trying to give him, but a lot of his behaviour/methods strike me as odd
Someone explained this in the comments in a previous part, but Dr. Bosehas two possible stories! It's on the player to decide which one is true - either Jimmy really did lie about Bose assaulting him and shit, OR Jimmy was telling the truth and Bose had used his position to prey on vulnerable people to have as his next victim. Both stories end the same, with Bose committing suicide, and there's evidence and hints for both stories, yet not enough to finally decide which one is true. It's really fucking smart of the creators of the game to do that.
This is the most intense game of hide-and-seek I've ever seen.

Coming from a british person, hotels like these are scattered everywhere. Same carpet, same wallpaper, same everything. There is one in scarborough (on the coast) and it sits on the very edge of a cliff. It is HUGE and is probably one of my worst fears.

You're alot better off hiding in the wardrobe when jimmy is coming in the room, hiding in the bathroom only gives you a 50% chance of surviving. If you hide in the wardrobe and jimmy sees you enter it he will hide in the bathroom to ambush you. Thats your que to run outside (dont do anyhting else or he will catch you, just head straight for the door) and lock the door behind you if you have the deadlock key, it buys you some time :) Your best tool is to listen for footsteps, if you can't hear anything and he's already entered the room that means he has gone in the bathroom.

Jimmy technically didn’t kill anyone but Harvey. At best he’d get involuntary manslaughter for the first two since he gave Amy alcohol but she jumped of her own accord, and we have no clear evidence he gave her the alcohol to kill her, but just to make her sick for Dr. Bose, he told vicious lies about him but Bose killed himself, Jimmy had no part in his actual death, but he for sure drove him to it, so involuntary manslaughter would likely be the charges, and nothing for Rose, she also killed herself with not physical help from Jimmy. She refused to see his violent behaviour or listen to anyone who tried to tell her, it was her immense guilt that killed her realistically. He’d also go to lifelong psych not jail; they would diagnose him with DID. I have DID and no matter what bs statement they said about him not having DID, he does. They just did another demonising portrayal of the disorder then shoved that in to cover themselves. And even IF Jimmy was possessed by his father’s ghost, no jury or anyone would believe that, he’d be diagnosed as DID, with Schizoaffective disorder based on his symptoms. That’s the worst part, he wouldn’t get murder charges for anyone but Harvey, and if he killed Maya of any of her friends of course.

You gotta love how Maya finds a gun, a sword, a crossbow, and bats, and never thinks to use any of them on Jimmy.
She never picks them up because it would severely hinder her ability to manipulate doors and locks with two hands. It would slow her down, and the risk of her injuring or killing herself is extreme. Jimmy is clearly also toying with Maya and not murdering her, and a show of deadly force is likely to provoke her death.

Pro tips:
1. Scrying mirror reveals your location to Jimmy
2. Hiding in the bathroom is a lot less safe than being in the closet
3. Don’t save outside of a room, especially if you aren’t going back to it when you get knocked out. Save after leaving a dangerous situation (using scrying mirror) so you can try again.
4. Lock Jimmy in rooms. Other comments probably show how to do this better, but if you call for Jimmy and leave and you have the key to the room, you can lock it and have some time before he escapes
5. Use the scrying mirror only when you need to or when you are safe. Lower floors, by elevators, etc.
6. Ghost locations are usually signaled by the flickering lights. Follow them to get to the scene, no need to run from them.
7. Jimmy cannot get you if you are in the elevator. If you see him by the elevator, get to it quickly instead of running.
8. Tutorial, Tutorial, TUTORIAL! Trust me, it’s so worth it. Makes the game take less time to complete and gives you lots of good tips.

You know all this could be avoided if maya simply tried to bash at the glass entrance with the chairs in the lobby or anything in the kitchen. It’s a hotel not a prison or a bank and it doesn’t even seem like a 5 star hotel so there’s a good chance the glass isn’t tempered or bullet proof so I would start banging at the glass until it gave and and shattered allowing me to escape and get help before I decide to go toe to toe with spanky and his ghost friends
That's a possibility but i think there were 2 sets of doors leading to the outside (one into an entry way an the other into the lobby) and I think realistically it would take too long to break them bother before she got caught.
Even if it was purely the one set of glass doors,even non-tempered can be quite thick & hard to break. If I were in her situation I would also hesitate to break the doors. We know that Jimmy, at the time she was in the lobby, was one the first floor. So being only one floor above her, he probably could've gotten to her rather quickly. Even if he was higher up, Jimmy seems pretty fast she'd still have that risk.

He’s a dude with crazy brains and a bat who leaves openings due to his swing windup being to wide. Since jimmy doesn’t feel the need to kidnap us like our friends I say learn his attack pattern side or high block to the left or right to protect our head then kick him where it hurts take the bat and bash his brains in. When he catches you he takes your keys. Thats why you have none left, you need to refind them. When you use the mirror it automatically brings him to the floor you're on.
Actually not entirely true. Every time you get caught, you are guaranteed to lose the spirit device, but it’s randomized whether you lose keys, the scrying mirror, or the compass. I don’t know about the scrying mirror bringing him to your floor. I think that’s timer-based, and the timer gets shorter the farther you progress in the story.

@@rily8329 yeah because last episode he “lost his keys” and panicked , but when he went to unlock a door he magically had them again and was able to go in the room. If I remember rightly. So it did seem like a bug.
