This documentary is a fly on the wall, day to day working life of Luthier and Teacher of guitar making/maintenance and music tutor, Michael Tarr
The Ex British Steel Electrical Engineer, working from his home base Studio and Workshop.
No explanation or narration is needed. Just watch and I hope you enjoy the film.
I filmed the guitar building to give enjoyment to other's with an interest in guitar making process. And for my Children and Grand Children.
PLEASE NOTE.. All health and safety equipment was in place and used. And only removed for filming purpose.

@@mitarrguitars You're very welcome. I'm an aircraft tech by trade, but i forgot how sattisfying it is to do some woodworking. Even more so when you're able to make a musical intrument. Hi D K. It’s just something I got into for a hobby when I was a young Apprentice. I’m an electric engineer by trade, but after 30 years in the steel industry. I took up the guitar building and teach music.
I just love getting the kids working in the workshop. Got two young granddaughter now so they will be in the next film. Best wishes Mike

TheRaptor. The finishing is difficult and very time consuming, it can take as long as building the guitar. Not my favourite job, made loads of mistakes over the years. Thanks again Mike
wow...a luthier who can play. Fabulous to watch it go from 2 planks glued together to playing Pink Floyd. BTW, when I was an electronics engineer at the MOD, I would have been sacked for shrinking heatshrink with a lighter lol

Having built a couple of Tele's myself it was very relaxing watching you do it, great looking guitar & good woodworking skills, performed in a nice atmosphere, and love the way you introduce the youngster to your workshop, never too young to start them off......Oh and i loved your demo afterwards, all in all a great half hours viewing.......thankyou

Yes! You and Mr. Fletcher are the only ones who uses a grain filler the right way! And by saying this I mean that you apply it against the grain, which is the only right way to do this.

Incredible and inspiring. There’s something indescribable about playing something you built yourself. I build custom guitar amps and it’s such a good feeling to play through a finished project you put your heart and souls into. Kudos my friend.
I started building kit guitars my pickup and finish choice. I did 3 and out of 20 I own the three are my favorite. TLC in what you make.
