- I built my own Telecaster style guitar all from locally sourced Maple. I made some of my own tools and had to buy some cheap "luthier" tools as well.
Part 1 and 2 are shorter videos without talking. The Full Long Build video has narration and shows some more of the tools I made and information about them. I hope you can enjoy this series as a log of how I made my own guitar.
I bought a lot of the components online (links found on my website) and did my best to document everything in hopes of helping others.

Im guessing your a shop teacher, your kids are lucky to have a talented teacher. I to was lucky I spent 3 years of shop glass building molds and making fiberglass boats in our final year. Thanks for your service to our youth.

She looks sweet. I have always wanted to learn how to play. I learned to play a little of one song, but never learned anything else😂. I'm 47 now and always ended up drinking at party's instead of playing a guitar.

My favorite telecasters come from Japan. Less of a walk for you to get one than me😎
Whenever I mess up, do something the wrong way or make things harder on myself I call it paying the stupid tax, lol. It's meant in a lighthearted way of course.

You can buy a good used one for $500, or you can buy a copy for $60 and fit all new hardware. Telecasters are not the preserve of rich men!
Now if you said you had wanted to build one for the fun of it, then OK.
