@@nolannsautodetail5468 absolutely it was an upgrade form my V1G1. I do miss arrows but the range is much better and I can reliably run K band. Had a V1G2 but couldn’t justify the cost. For 1/2 the price the R4 is a great deal

GARMIN dash cam quality? A big concern of mine is quality durability longevity of a product. I’m willing to pay a little bit more for better quality. Also, I live in Virginia and I want something that’s gonna keep me from getting getting tickets. so I’m thinking about some kind of integrated Radar detector that’s hidden to go along with my AL priority. What do you think of that versus something that’s mounted up on my windshield and again what’s gonna be the best quality and not be found seen by cops?
Going into a 202X Mustang Mach 1. Do you have any really good recommendations for set up and placement? Or just go by your usual recommendations of place sensors by the headlights in the front and in the rear kind of out beside the license plate.
I watch most of your other videos, but I figure there are a lot of intricacies I do not know.

I’m not a fan of them. There’s an upcoming one that I may check out, but for a variety of reasons I don’t have any immediate plans on doing that. I’m sure there’s plenty of other people who can and do.
Thanks for sharing. Do you recommend a dashcam that has front and rear cameras? Or would front be sufficient?
I find a rear cam to be incredibly beneficial and would definitely recommend it.
Hey, remember how you showed the A229 Pro has better video quality than the A139 Pro? Supposedly both dashcams have gotten firmware updates to improve video quality--would you be willing to test those side-by-side to see if the quality gap has been closed?

Prices on radar detectors are changing constantly. If you're interested, I recommend checking prices one or twice a day. I got a Uniden R3 for $258 yesterday. The price is back up to $299 today.

we need a best dashcams 2024, buyers guide, as the 2023 one is really outdated now, with the a119mini2 , u3000, a229 plus dual, and many others not yet being released back in may of last year when you posted the video.

hm while prices do change (the R8 price has since dropped while the R3 price has gone up), I'm still seeing the A229 Plus at $179 at that same link. @@VortexRadar Your diagnosis is correct. Your pricing only reveals itself when I'm logged into amazon. I've never experienced that phenomenon before. I've owned the A129+ for years but wanted to upgrade to a 2 channel setup. Thanks for your help, I got it ordered.
Anyone mount their camara using a suction type mount so it can be moved to multiple vehicles? I would be using cig lighter type power plug and mount it lower on the windshield like my radar detector.
Yep! People sometimes do that. I do something similar for rental cars. Personally I prefer a permanent mount so you never have to worry about it and it's always there protecting your car, driving or parked. It's easy to forget to do it, you gotta reaim it every time, etc. For the most part I like them working in the background without me having to mess with it. If anything ever happens (knock on wood), the dashcam is there.
I was told one time state troopers wait till you get kinda close with their radar then they shut it off and you can't pick them up 😊

Want to start a hardware company with me? We could totally do it dude. Start with dashcams imo. I spoke with a couple manufacturers and software/firmware optimization firm reps in Shenzen recently and they were telling me that ppl would be shocked at how affordable it is at this point and how little resources companies are spending on software and firmware because profit isn’t enough margins is everything and if they can pay for a software stack 99% will offer developing in house and trying to optimize things. Anyway some of the rates shocked me. Really considering giving it a go.
If you want to manufacture some, go for it and keep me posted. It's not the first time I've received an offer to help manufacture devices and thanks for the offer, but I prefer being the third party reviewer and not being affiliated with any brand.

FPGA’s market is very interesting lately and as it advances I can’t help but remember Theia would be cheaper to produce every passing day and it’s still not here, and therefore likely never coming unfortunately. It hurts.
