Hey guys, Back with another Borderlands History countdown video and today, I want to go over 10 of what I think are among some of the Worst SMGs in Borderlands History! This video will include some of the worst smgs from Borderlands 2, Borderlands 1 and The Pre-Sequel to decide what some of the worst smgs are in the entire series.

I love the bane, I think it’s hilarious, but I can’t stand the speed reduction
@Scaly Coronet Everytime I beat the bane questline, I equip it, shoot off about half a magazine, and then throw that thing off the cliff next to the grave where I pulled it from. Additionally, sometimes if I'm feeling especially adventurous, I'll carry it to overlook and toss it into the grinder.
I however fricking love The Crit SMG, it's so funny. I like to dupe it a couple of times, so when I inevitably reload/throw it off a cliff, I have a couple extra. Lol.
I like to use the bane to get kills in FFYL other than that I'd day using it on bunker isn't such a bad idea

I hate the Bane, I think its unfunny, but I can stand the speed reduction

They should make a "Puma" SMG in BL3 that talks and says "What a boat load of ass!".

Well we did get dahl assault rifles called "puma"... and they were a boat load of ass at launch so you guys sort of got your wish
Actualizer? Ok it's not exactly a Bitch, but that doesn't mean it's "one of the worst smgs of all time". It does the job, and easy to get with good parts. It's like saying the Pocket Rocket is terrible because it's not an Unkempt Harold.
But lets be honest, the Bane may be bad, but at least it's not a thumper barreled SMG from BL1
The Pocket Rocket IS pretty not good though.

My worst crit moment was when it slipped out of my hands and fell in the shield grinder.
Mine was in fight for your life, fighting Treants and Gaige threw it off the side of the cliff.
The crit fell off a cliff the first time it fell out of my hands right after I got it
I was so happy you included the Bane. I was going to be somewhat disappointed if you hadn't. The Bane seriously scared the crap out of me the first time I used it, I thought my game had like seriously broke or something lol

I personally love the troll weapons in Borderlands! It makes the game more fun, same with all the Easter Eggs in the game. Hopefully the trolling returns in B3 :D

If you're lucky enough to get a corrosive Bane, it's pretty solid for the BUNK3R fight as well as Angel's fight, I think it's a solid gun..if there wasn't a movement penalty I'd use it more often, I think that the voice modular is hilarious RATATAT!

The chulain absolutely shreds on normal and TVHM, and also is good for quite a few level above its own, its really only bad on UVHM
lol the bane was a funny little gun, 1 of my first unique weapons too along with the pangolin sheild you get from BLUE the big crystal monster, it was a fun challenge!
I do disagree with some of the comparsions on the unique blues.
Unique blue is supposed to be on par with purples.
Unique Purples supposed to be on par with Legendaries.
Unique E-techs(BL2 only),supposed to be on par with legendaries,but even closer to legendarys.
You dont compare a blue unique to a pink rarity SMG (both same corparation and parts) to a blue unique smg.Of course it's gonna blow the damage out of the water of the blue unique dude.

I honestly found the bane pretty useful for fighting bunker on tvhm. but I also got a corrosive variant. did a good amount of corrosive damage. just had to keep swapping back and forth. was farming him to get a bitch. 2 weeks of farming and got 0 legendaries. so I gave up. lol

I love giving the Bane to new players and telling them it’s an amazing gun. Same with the Midnight Star
Zombie Killa Dude try it out and watch what happens.
The boxy gun is one of those you need to use it on the right character. And explosives claptrap can get great use out of it, especially when getting in an enemy’s face. If you build claptrap to get every nova ability he has, it gets insane.
Maybe in normal mode, but in ultimate vault hunter mode where a white smg is awful, this won't work.

I agree with that. unless you're constantly switching and just whipping out the bane when standing still, it's hard to use. and some elements tend to be more useful than others with it.
The most enjoyable part of this game is the amount of momentum I get as Zero with follow-through. So when it comes to the Bane......no laughs here lol

Maya + Crit + Cloud Kill = Everything dead
The healing effect off the SMG, compounded by both the excellent static damage output, unlisted critical hit damage bonus and aforementioned CK, makes worrying about losing health pretty much a non-issue*. The only drawback being...what, occasionally dropping the weapon upon reloading? Pfft! Pros FAR outweigh a relatively minor con. :)
*Tested and confirmed on 1st playthrough and TVHM.
Although most Gashers you'll find will be pretty underwhelming, with the right parts it can be extremely powerful. On-par with the Double Anarchy, if not better.
The Bane is truly a curse to all players.
I feel like the Chulainn could've been improved, whilst keeping the Riastrad gimmic, if instead of self-slahging the user, the projectiles cause splash damage in a way, that could also affect the user, if they get too close to the impact.
Whiost it could still be annoying when dealing with enemies that rush towards you, it would be more manageable than constantly being slagged once equipping it.
The crit is just fine if you do drop reloads anyways.
The 1st time I ever did the Quest for "The Bane" I acturslly couldnt wait to obtain it, However once I acturally got it I was like...WTF?

While i mostly agree with this list, I wouldn't call these SMG's the 'worst', but sure they're all disappointing SMG's... except for the Boxy, which reeally sucks!
The Bane was designed to be bad (because you know, cursed), but at least it can be a lot of fun.

I think weapons like the Bane have their place in the game. Look at the game itself, it's chaos, fun and stupidity at the same time.
If every gun would be just more awesome than the one before, they would lose character. With the Bane, we know we only take this one if we want a serious challenge to play the game or if we want to annoy the crap out of our friends in co-op. (But yes, crippling the potential by just bad stats to a normal weapon is still bad).

I think it's important to note that Seraphs in generally are more of a Side-grade to Legendaries as opposed to an Upgrade, all featuring some sort of gimmick or stat trade-off. So the Actualizer isn't really a "higher tier" than the Bitch, it's an alternative.

Here's my opinion on the bane. The smh can come in all 4 elements so that's epic, it's base damage and firerate are way better than average, and I don't even mind the movement slow, cause I can jump around and then shoot it for a sec or 2 and then swap back to some gun and keep moving, and noise is also not a bother to me. I find it really useful when there are a lot of enemies that are scattered around your screen and you can't aim perfectly at every enemy, the start of the bane is perfect for tagging a couple of enemies and then if you instantly reload, the spread is not as bad. But that's just my opinion
I actually use the bane a lot on my Salvador and I find it fun. I know that the mobility penalty is bad and the noise is annoying and all that but the challenge of using it is what makes me use it. Besides it does have decent damage and close up it's actually pretty strong.

The Bane is silly and fun to use, don’t overthink it. It is also very useful for fighting for your life due to its DPS at point blank range while you’re still.
"The Boxxy Gun explodes when you reload..." you mean just like every Tediore weapon in BL2 ?

The Chulainn is underrated. It's really strong and while being slagged is worse in UVHM, it's also stronger against enemies and you generally have more ways to heal as a counter. Of course, the Slagga is better, and presumably the Florentine as well but I haven't used it much. However, it's far from the worst when you know how to use it. I'd take it over most unique smgs on most characters.
Well tbh, the Boxxy SMG is like that bc it’s a homage to Boxxy, the twitchy charming girl in a pretty famous 4chan video. That’s why it’s such an odd weapon, kind of like how Boxxy was
The Bane is the best gun in the game, so many fun memories.
On borderlands 1 I have a quad desert hellcat super op up close as you can just hipfire and clear an entire room. But accuracy was a huge issue as aiming it still had mass spread
My personal list would bump the chulain to no 1 and move the actualizer, bane and crit to 10, 8, and 9 respectively.
Actualizer isn’t great when
Compared to the legendary of the same value however it’s nit a drop so farming better parts are simpler.
Crit is also strong, dropping it randomly is bad however drop reloads are a tech that mitigates this. In fact the fact that it’s completely possible to enjoy it without the red text mattering means it could be no 19 however even if you do just drop it you can typically grab it unless you put yourself in a bind.
The bane may be controversial however it actually kills things good. The negatives are clear however as a weapon I’d use this before an emperor

It is better than it is given credit for, but it's definitely annoying to use. It has more value in Normal and TVH modes, as you're a bit less squishy, generally. In UVHM you're usually way too easy to KO, so the movement speed penalty is a real killer.
If you lack really hard hitting weapons at the level of The Bane, it's not a bad option. I had a Corrosive Bane, and it was pretty good for wiping out the bots around mid-playthrough, when I didn't have anything else corrosive around that level that was decent.
So yeah, it has a reputation, one that I think is a bit overblown. It's really up to your tolerances, play style, and existing resources (weapons) more than anything. It's a bit funny to play through for a short time, if nothing else. Annoying for sure, but still somewhat amusing.
Honestly I feel like the Crit doesn't really belong here. The Crit's downside is only a 5% chance and not really that bad, if you have fast reaction speed it could even be a faster reload, and the it has DPS that can rival some legendaries

I like the bane, the movement speed sucks but I usually have game volume off when playing anyways because I listen to music while playing
If you have a ba rank about 50% in the right places it will get rid of all of the actualizers flaws putting it leagues above the bitch since it just has so much more base dmg once you make it accurate

I love the commerce skin. I use it during Normal and true Vault hunter mode since these aren’t that hard and the commerce is good enough

Estefano Arraya Guillen considering how bad his list videos are, I don't agree... He often makes unfair and/or bullshit comparisons in these videos, and I don't want a game with superior gameplay like TPS be falsely represented by a moron like Puma.
+Boyishdude everything was good about tps until easy ass UVHM, hopefully they can settle on something in the middle of bl2 and tps for bl3
I hated the Bane so much I can tell you that when I first got it I was wondering why the Bane was cursed so when I to kill a psycho in the dust I noticed his ears were pretty stabbed with knife, scissors, etc. So when I got it the Bane got so loud and annoying and got me killed multiple times. So I just sold he the Bane back to Marcus.
I think Maya and Gaige specifically can take advantage of the commerce and actually make it good, also I believe it to be barely inferior, the only worthwhile better thing being the gemstone projectile convergence for the crit dmg(which would only be nice for Maya anyway), besides it has like a 33% drop chance or something high like that so it's not even that hard to get 🤷♂️
Even tho the accuracy sux Gaige literally doesn't care since she has close enough and nth degree

I wouldn't say the Actualizer is bad. The reload speed is definitely bad but depending on the character that is almost entirely canceled out and the same can happen for the accuracy which doesn't matter if you're fighting a large enemy anyways.
I personally like the bane lol.
