What's up guys! This is VinylicPuma, back with another Borderlands History countdown and today, I figured I could go over 10 of what I think are among some of the Worst Shields in Borderlands History! Now to be fair, some of these do have some redeeming qualities, however the Top 5 are pretty terrible.
As always, feel free to leave some of your favorite, as well as least favorite Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Shields in the comments section below!

a7x is for grog interfacers and zer0s most side quests are canon, it’s for gameplay. I’m pretty sure the machine says it not even canon
I’ve always liked adaptive shields for the extra health. They only become obsolete because of op8 but so does half the weapons in the game
Yeah, the variety of weapons and utility items to use gets smaller the further you progress in the game
Simon that’s why I have mixed feelings on op8. One the one hand I like the challenge of it but I hate that you can’t use a bunch of the utilities the game gives you. I have duplicates of each vault hunter for that reason. 6 at op8 and 6 at 72

not only that, but the Neogenator and Evolution both increases maximum health and regenerates health. which works great on characters like Maya, Axton and Zer0, due to their skills to quickly regenerate shields upon killing enemies, as well as a properly specced Brawnzerker build for Salvador.
I remember trying to do a build based around the Foxtrot as Gaige and HOLY SHIT it wasn't fun. If you had immunity to the explosions, it would make so much better
You do you can get an electricity immune version of it.
It's actually really good tbh if you know how to build around it with either Maya or gaige with buck up
I know what's the worst shield is for me:
The very first shield in every Borderlands.
The patched version of the WTF shield is really fun, only with the UCP, beacuse its remove the self damage from the IED booster.
People should give a chance to that shield.

Adaptive shields are great for mobbing and Raid bosses.
My day isn't complete without having watched a videa of yours. It's impressive how far your channel has been growing over the last couple of months. You should be proud of yourself.
I have to strongly disagree with 10-7 (except the sponge) all of those other shields are great and have lots of use. The pun-chee only has slightly less roid damage than the hide of terra with mich better delay. Adaptive shields are in my bbn opinion great shields in general, and the beseie is still really good, just not worth the farming.
Yeah, the punchee only has 1.5 4oid while the hide has 2.3 .almost a million , something i won't call slightly.

I'm sorry but the wtf is practically the only reason I won against terramorphus that and a vladof anarchist that was way underpowered

Hey puma the worst shield that I’ve ever used it’s the whiskey tango foxtrot from borderland 2 but I’ve been new to this game because of yoteslaya

I love adaptive shields for most of the game, once you dip a toe into UVHM and don't have the DPS or healing behind it, then it's not great. However, I've been doing a Brawnzerker and he's currently level 56, it's been fun. Can't wait to get him to op8
White Shields are generally crap
and a lot of these are pet decent at what they do if you don't have anything else
except the seraphs. by then you likely have something better (coughcoughHideOfTerramorphusCoughcough)
I think I personally enjoyed borderlands 1 more then the second and psq I don't know why
Dantes Inferno, the feeling of borderlands 1 is better. Its atmosphere is better and its more of a wasteland and the guns are more realistic.

Cool video dude. I've gotta admit dude that the whisky tango foxtrot is dangerous to the player and the pot of gold is of pot of croc. Dealing pain is one thing but getting it is another and I don't take it well so staying as far away from these Shields is highly recommended. Shame tho cos the concept for the shields on the video are great when they work but the impaler has all the strength of being stabbed by a candy bar when you're being attacked by psycho's so it's not helpful. I just love the borderlands games lol!

Yup, there are a few really awful ones in there. However, I could imagine fixes for a few of those:
Pun-chee: Increase roid damage to surpass the hide of terra, add damage resist when depleted or let roid attacks ignore shields.
The WTF: Overall increase to base stats, IED boosters restore a portion of shields when the explosion hits the player rather than dealing damage to them.
The Manly Man Shield: Turn into a proper roid shield with above average stats, melee attacks deal 60% splash damage, boostable by nade damage bonuses.
The Sponge: Increased base stats, after absorbing a bullet you gain +15% rate of fire and elemental proc chance for 5 seconds (5 seconds cooldown).

I am surprised King Wee Wee’s superbooster didn’t make it on this list. The shield is way worse than the ironclad because of how low the capacity is and the special effect sucks. If he does a redux ever, he should consider this one. In fact gameplay if this shield was shown at the very start of the video.

Omg go to 3:42 and after he says inability to absorb, go back ten seconds and he says enemy bullets I found this on accident (you can only do this on mobile)

The only "Captain Blade's" equipment piece I use is the relic as it pairs beautifully with Gaige's Blood-Soaked Shield. Even on maximum BSS, a good relic will regenerate more health from a kill than the skill will deplete. You combine that with a True Neutral class mod (even if I hate the stupid necessity of it) and an Infinity, you can keep the damage flying without worrying about killing yourself. Seriously though, someone at Gearbox should patch Borderlands 2 simply to allow bullets to round UP to the nearest one instead of down! It's like that little hunk of bullshit is designed to exclude Gaige from using the Infinity when running even one point of "Smaller, Lighter, Faster" and I hate chaining myself to an otherwise useless class mod just to make that combination. It's bullshit! Don't create an item to fix! Just fix it! It's only one bullet difference! Why would you fuss over keeping such an insignificant hunk of garbage in a game?! Is one extra bullet really game breaking when you would create an item that could add 10 or more?! Not when you think about it for more than 5 seconds!!!
Ha! You got stuck by that Pixie. I always kill them immediately because they drop decent loot, and get in your way more often than not. Getting stuck in Dragon Keep on UVHM can lead to death pretty quickly.
I think non-bee amp shields are quite bad. Sure you get a nice damage bonus but only for your first shot and then you have lowered shields losing you survivability and the shield does nothing anymore and you either have to get cover or just try to live with it. Especially bad is the Rerouter from tps because of the insane shield recharge delay.
Admit it , the bee shield was op. Especially if u had a good cover , then u could basicaaly snipe with the bee for ages. The thing that pre sequel did right was it nerfed everything op in borderlands 2. In bl2 there was a fixed no. of guns that everyone used. To me the pre sequel was more flexible and better. All it needed was a few more dlc.
I like the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Just back off and the mobs run through its effect.

Sure sometimes I get caught in it myself but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Adaptive shields are the best shield type around. A few legendary non adaptive shields are ridiculously overpower, but if you think about it adaptive shields are always good, regardless of rarity. I found myself using green adaptive shields over many purple and some legendary ones.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot better be on here.

Ironclad over the Omega? I would pick the Ironclad any day over the Omega. Both are great shields though, while Rose is the best.
He just hates the ironclad because it is just about 4% better than youre average purple pangolin shield, and because its an insanely rare pearl, it should be waaaay better

The Whiskey Tango Foxtrot can actually be useful against groups of shielded enemies and is rather useful for Axton

You can find crowds of enemies in the Bloodshot areas and why does everyone hate the Foxtrot? I personally love the shield.

I had a cradle fall out of a bone pile in frostburn canyon! What a piece of trash!
so I used the wtf and I didn't die to the boosters damaging me, I died to them preventing me from being able to get away, when I would need to dodge the nukes from a badass constructor I couldn't because I didn't want to run over the boosters, and I would get hit by the nuke I was running from
Surprised that the Fabled Tortoise didn't make it on here, honestly. Reduced movement speed? In a game that already has HUGE problems with poor movement options and floaty, sluggish player movement specifically?

I can fix the manly man. Make it a roid shield and the explosive damage is 50% the damage done overall. Is it op? Maybe, but at least it's a risk/reward shield rather than just risk.

Lol seriously? The ironclad is by far the best shield in BL1.
But because it is a pearl, it is insanely rare, and because it is just 5% better, i would rather farm for a purple pangolin shield, that is slightly weaker but easier to get it. Not to mention that maybe you might get a bad version of it, it will be worse than the shield you already have

So I just finished my 1st play through w Zer0 @ lvl 36 and want to beat Teramorphus before starting tvhm. Anybody got any tips for leveling? Do I really have to grind Bunk3r and the Warrior hundreds of times? Note: i sidequested all the sidequests before finishing the campaign.
