I'm glad you are doing OK in SLO. There are few black people in SLO. My sister dated a brother, and this bully I knew of down the street shot at them, in the early '90s. I know the 1920s Klan was around Atascadero. Some rural county areas might get sketchy? I was an oblivious white kid out Baywood side, & grad MCP 89. There were very few black people there. They seemed nice, but my chronic introversion was full on then. I never heard the "N-word" actually used until I was about 22, in rural Hawaii island. I hope you have a great education & life. Poly has a reputation for rich white kids having drunken riots. I drank a bit much for 2/3 years at college, and it was easy for me to quit. Sounds like you've got a handle on life.
