That's for sharing this. Your video is very timing for us since we are looking into schools. What you said really helps even though you think that 5K views might be little. I appreciate your upfront thoughts and ideas.
You said that they are looking for GE boxes to be marked, I haven't done any ap classes but do you think that it would be better to do my GE's at a community College and then transfer for my major?
I just got in but there’s a problem with my a-G’s. So I took Avid 9 as a freshman but it wasn’t on the list when I was putting my classes on the cal state application so I’m pretty sure i put that I had taken Avid 12. Do you think if I accept my offer of admission and then have to send my transcript at the end of the year that will change their mind and unaccept me? I also applied to UCs and Avid 9 counts for a-g on the uc application and I thought they were both the same. So idk why it didn’t show up for the cal state a-G’s. I don’t want to accept my offer then be declined admission once they see my a-ya aren’t met then have to go to a community college since at that point I had already committed to cal poly and declined all my other schools (idk if that makes sense).
I think when you send in your transcript at the end of the year they’re pretty much only checking your gpa to make sure it stays above the requirement but I would call admissions and ask them the best way to proceed. I wouldn’t freak out though, I’m sure a lot of students click wrong buttons on the application and I doubt they will rescind your offer! Good luck, let me know if you decide to go to Cal Poly!:)
Thanks for sharing. You got in on your own merit: UC/CSU can NOT use gender in determining enrollment as it is against State Law. My daughter wishes to be a CM minor while majoring in Engineering. Also, so glad to here that you could get internships easily (I was worried because SLO is fairly small). All the best!!!!
Dang I’m waiting to see if I’m going to get accepted to cal poly slo. I’m the class of 2021 so we were not able to take the SAT and my GPA is 3.97-4 I’m praying I get in.
I applied back in 2014 and it’s definitely gotten more difficult. Like I said in the video, my major had a big part of why I got in I think. People from my high school who has 4.0s didn’t get in 🤷🏼♀️
@@EricaZetterquist oh shit 2014. Yeah i heard it was alot easier back then. My brother got accepted in 2012. Welp i hear the acceptance rate is like 25 percent for my field so lets just apply and pray lol
their acceptance rate this year was 29%, which is considered competitive. although this was in 2014 when it was easier to get in, but she’s just trying to help people that have their eyes set on a certain school.
I really love how appreciative you are💖
Thank you!! That means a lot to hear you say that :))))

Thanks! Is your daughter looking at going to Cal Poly!?
@@EricaZetterquist Yes, indeed! She's currently a junior and weighing the difference between Cal Poly SLO, UCSD, and Stanford.
@@SM-wk3dn Where does she go now?
Do they ask for your extracurriculars or any essays?
none of the cal state schools ask for essays but I believe they ask for extracurriculars

How you got in to cal poly? That’s an easy school to get in to. You make it sound like you’re going to a tier 1

@@shannonbowman4071 it’s a CSU. If you’re trying to get in UCLA, Berkeley or Stanford than make a video. It’s like making a video on how to breath.
Yeah I should probably just delete it :/
cal poly is my safety
liked the video when you said biden 2020
