- What is the difference between Cal States and UCs? I laid out the major differences between these schools and their application processes. This video is catered to those who are transferring though! :)

Nice video. I need 1 more year of community college. However, i didn’t attend uci because I was conflicted between majoring in physics and criminal justice. After attending community college, I’ve realized that I want to major in CJ and attend a CSU. Thank you for the video btw. Did you make an update on what you did or selected?
Thank you so much for watching, Hugo! yeah, of course! What are your plans for your career? do you wanna go to law school? I only applied to UCs because I do want to head straight into my Masters. I got into two of them, and one out of state that is ranked #4 in my major :) I am currently waiting to hear back from 5 more schools as the decisions for UC transfers come out in April!
Natalie Lillig I was considering law school. But I’m going to end up being a police officer. Therefore, i want to transfer and receive a bachelors degree. I’m not certain on the specific degree though.

It varies based on school :) and no, but last year I was prepping to transfer because I wanted the two year track and I researched a lot about different schools and the systems! And yeah, maybe I will do a video or something if you’d like to see it hahaha

Is it more challenging to transfer from a csu to a uc? If so what gpa do you think would be required or would seem competitive in order to be able to transfer to a uc?
Yes, it is because you are already attending a 4 year institution and CC students come first during the transfer process. Honestly, for GPA it really depends on your major! UC prefer a higher GPA for STEM majors because upper divs are really hard. let me know if you have other questions! :) do remember that I am talking based on experience and talk with people before hand :)

And I actually have one more question. Would you say it’s impossible to transfer to a UC from a CSU? Because sadly I didn’t get into any of the UCs I applied for because the major i applied for is the most competitive. But I’m still hoping I have a chance to transfer in two years if I continue to work extremely hard. And I am trying to get as much information as possible so that I can try everything in my power to try and get into a UC.

I took business courses and some general eds at Biola for the first year. There were also Bible classes and theology that I took. Do you think a business oriented program for a UC will automatically fail me as a Transfer applicant? Or more so a transfer guarantee? I completed the first year of Biola and I am thinking of transferring to fullerton college to take the necessary courses.
Nathan Wee as long as you don’t exceed about 80 semester units in total you can transfer to a UC.
Is it hard to transfer from a UC to a CSU?
Marilyn Mejia mostly no but UC schools are considered higher level so you more than often have CSU students transferring to UC.

Xplan Nation hi! No you can’t. Tagging is only from California community colleges to UCs.
