I’m a freshman in high school and i went to cal poly for a field trip and i would really like to go there for engineer but idk what type of engineering i want to go there for, but i got 3 more years to figure out lol.

I am a second generation Cal Poly grad and also an OWD. What I hoped you would share is your experiences working with Poly professors. Do you find them helpful and are they fair? I ask that because CPSLO students have traditionally rated the professors high in the area of approachability and helpfulness. Do you find that to be the case? Further, how do you view your job prospects as a future CPSLO grad?. In some fields a CPSLO diploma gives you a leg up. Do you have thoughts regarding that aspect?

After the arrival of my new manager at work, I have experienced multiple micro-aggressions and unfair treatment. I no longer like attending work anymore because of this, and when I learned UCSD rejected me and I’m now stuck at a PWI (Cal Poly), I’m terrified. I know it sounds dramatic, but I want to know if it’s heavily discouraging. When I SIRed to Cal Poly my teachers said I shouldn’t worry about the demographics. But now that my job feels terrible to attend, I’m hella concerned I won’t be strong enough to be at Cal Poly.

I read that first sentence as "Hey y'all I'm Black and better than ever." LOL

Went to and played football at Cal-Poly 87-90. Not many blacks on campus..but nevertheless it was fun..people were inviting and personable! Great school! Just a slo.......literally slo! Not sure if its still a dry campus! She's right! It's a hilly school...make sure you get good shoes!

Ik there are hardly any black students at cal poly to begin with is it even worse in the engineering program specifically? I got in for MechE yesterday.

Thank you for making this. I’m a black woman, and I was accepted yesterday. Do you think the campus is safe? I’m fine with dealing with minor racial issues, but I’m afraid of going to campus feeling unsafe.

Hello! I am so happy I found this video. I am currently at a community college trying to get my credits necessary to transfer to Slo for civil engineering. Do you know how hard it is to get into slo as a jr transfer? Can you tell me anything you know about that and what you recommend?
