😭 I am 69 years old. I am so exhausted watching my country being torn apart and so unable to have conversations and find resolve to anything. My heart is broken. I remember Roe v Wade was so hard but we were able to resolve. Now I watch as we have come full circle. The difference is that DJT has allowed conversation, fair and honest decisions to NEVER happen again if he is allowed to return to the White House. Everyday I listen and watch and my heart breaks more. My one and only strength is my vote and now I wonder how long this female American citizen will be able to vote. So draining!

After having bragged several times that he overturned Roe v. Wade by appointing 3 SC Justices, imho he is trying to walk back on his responsibility because he has by then realized it wasn't a popular issue. So, by repeating "states’ rights, states’ rights”, he’s trying to distanciate himself from the issue by stressing that, ultimately, the states decide. And if some states take a harder position than others, so be it, it's not his responsibility.

I don’t think Trump is the only person who is clueless about women’s issues. Too many men are.
The “gettable” group Brian mentioned at the end… young men. Unfortunately I think he overestimates the empathy a lot of 20 something men have. Women’s issues are automatically seen as less important to a lot of men, and since pregnancy doesn’t directly impact their bodies and freedom, they don’t care nearly as much.

The real issue is the creation of Laws governing the body of a private American citizen. It's about Republicans telling women they don't really have "freedom." We were taught in Nursing school and I practiced under this law almost my entire career that NO ONE is entitled to knowledge of your health status except you and your Doctor and those directly involved in your care. This was the law of the land! I have retired but as far as I can see, anybody who wants to monitor your menstrual cycle is totally out of their lane. It is nobody's business by law. How did they change that?
