Loved the vid Troy, I'm annoyed I didn't pick this PSU up, as for and extra £15 its definitely worth it over my EVGA 450BT. Also nice shirt ;)
Great review Troy, that power supply looks good. i wonder if Gamemax manufactures their own power supply or if they sub contract other companies to make it, just like Evga and some of the other brands. That would be good to know. i will totally trust it if i knew it was manufactured by seasonic or one of those other companies. From the looks of it the power supply looks well built on the outside. The RGB looks cool.
EDITED: I got a Game Max Iceberg 120M AIO on my Ryzen 5 2600x, great temperatures, very easy to install uses stock AM4 brackets and it fitted in a Elite 130 with the block/tubes just pushing under the ATX PSU (Mini-ITX) the only solution in the case i use to get good temperatures with it just cooling with no mesh. Overclocked to 4.2GHz @ 1.4v level3 LLC absolute max 87c IIRC. (Level 3 is much higher voltage than 'larger' number LLC on my MSI b350i PRO AC sometimes spiking to 1.440v) temps never over 65c while gaming with precision boost overdrive. (Yes my B350i PRO/AC has PBO, but it's a very buggy MSI board, i wouldn't recommend it.) Thanks for reviewing the stuff from this brand as i myself am interested how they do this.
Hopefully the power supply isnt as loud in the build. I’m thinking about picking it up.
Just ordered the 1050 model.
i like your setup
I was wondering if I could ask a quick question. Are you able to add more cables than just the ones from the box such as sleeved cables and can you add an eight pin and 6 pin cable from the power supply to the graphics card? Thanks :)
You shouldn't use additional cables unless they are for the exact model. Although many can look the same they can use different pin layouts which has lead to blown systems. Scienxe studio did this and blames his nzxt hue he made a really good follow up video appologies for his mmistakes .as I said you can use one of the molex cables to add Molex 2 6pin.

Will it work with

GTX 1660 super oc ventus
MSI B450m gaming plus max motherboard
Oloy Warhawk 3200mhz ram
GameMax F-15 mesh E-ATX case with 3 installed ARGB fans
Hi, I'm curious how this is performing? I bought one recently but it's pretty no name brand. It starts fine and seems to work well but I've only had it a few days and am curious how it handles over time
It been in my i5 8400 gtx 1660 rig at my girlfriend's for about 6 months now it's running as a gaming pc and Plex media server so is pretty much on 24/7 with no issues
@@thefullsetup Sweet thanks for the reply! I appreciate it, put some concerns to rest
@@thefullsetup psu still okay? still no issues?
Hello I really enjoyed your benchmark videos they are in my opinion one of the best out there. I would really appreciate if you tested the r5 2600 with the gtx 1070 Ti. Thanks!
Same, i want to know is that PSU can handle R5 2600 + GTX 1080? I wanna buy it and save my money if can handle it :)
@@AmarSulistio r5 2600 + gtx 1080 have a lot of bottleneck, the 1070 is perfect
@@KamiSamaTheEmperor it's not bottleneck, they can work great, i've tried with Seasonic 550W 80+Gold, everythings great
@@AmarSulistio With "bottleneck" I mean that the graphics card is not going to give everything of itself, which is a complete waste of money.
@@KamiSamaTheEmperor i know, but Ryzen 5 2600 can handle up to GTX 1080Ti without bottlenecking prob. You can use Bottleneck Calc on internet for illustration :)
Hey man. How's this PSU going for you? Planning to purchase as next month :)
These don’t have the best rep around reddit/other PCMR forums. I’ve heard of them blowing up on people...
a few minutes ago the fans of that PSU was kinda noise :p
What’s the rgb mouse mat in the background
Can't remember the exact name but it came free with cooler master mm520 mouse which was only £35 bargain really.
hey just wondering can i use it with a ryzen 7 2700x / i7 6700k
b450 toma hawk /asrock z170
rx 5700
8gb 3000 ram
1 ssd
1 hdd
probably alright. on paper this psu has 90% efficiency which is 490w out of 550. the gpu will take max of 190w, overclocked cpu maybe 90w, everything else maybe 40 to 50. so yea it should be alright. this is a gold psu so i recon it should do alright. or just get a bronze 600w psu. correct me if im wrong
Can I use an RTX 2060 or 2070 with this
Hey there! I picked up this power supply for a PC I built a few days ago, going pretty well so far, how It is going for you after almost a year later? Thanks and nice review :)
Yeah still going strong it's actually in my pc at my girlfriend's but we use it with some external drives as a Plex server so it's on pretty much 24/7
yo man how is it going? I am planning to pick one up but I am not sure, I dont want it to blow up
@@moonman5188 Hey there, sorry for late reply.
Shortly after i built the PC (like a week after) it was randomly shutting down, so i tried updating the BIOS, checked for missing drivers, reinstalled Windows and formatted both the HDD/SDD, then i tested every component like RAM, CPU, Graphics Card, SDD, HDD and even the mobo on another PC and they all ran just fine, i found out the problem clearly was the PSU so i replaced it for a Corsair VS650 650W 80+ White since then and so far it's going perfectly on my build so my advice is just go safe and get a PSU from a reputable brand like Corsair, EVGA, SeaSonic, Coolermaster. This was just MY experience with this GameMax PSU, maybe mine was defective so i'm planning on bringing it to warranty, did you picked this PSU? If so how it's going?
nullzar hey man, I actually got it a week ago and its not bad at all, took me a while to know which cables to connect but its fine so far
@@moonman5188 hey man is your PSU still working? Planning to get this brans
i saw a lot of reviews that this PSU is bad, i have a Ryzen 3 3200G/prime a320mk/1 sata3 hdd/8gb rams/240gb ssd, what gpu can i pick to dont blow the PSU?
Hey man, where's the build with this PSU?
Is it still working good???

is that good if i buy this power supply? please answer man
Nah, i cant buy these cz i need 2x 6+2 pin on it
@@ichsanprakoso5778 not compatible to your videocard ?
Just use pcpartpicker it tells you if your parts are compatible
would this run the 2070 super trio it needs a 6 pin and 8 pin connector
No, take another
How is that gamemax power supply holding up...I got a 600w 80bronze no name n wanna get a modular one but don't wanna spend to much but didn't kno if it seemed to be a decent brand ..thanks man !
I've had it in my Plex server for a year now running 24/7 with an i5 8400, gtx 1660 and a bunch of drives still going strong.
@@thefullsetup cool beans I was thinking bout the 850 but would love 2 c it have an 8pin :)
@@thefullsetup have you fully power down and try starting it back up? I know many power supplies works for long period of time but dies immediately after it is turned off.
I'm thinking of purchasing one of those how has it been?
ive had one half a year, works a charm, it's very quiet aslong as you dont have a huge power hungry gpu like a pascal / low end 20 series :)
Is your PSU still working? Planning to get that brand
get something more reliable, their psus have been reported to blow up on people
Hey troy hows this psu doing for you thinking about getting it but the price on Amazon right now 69.99 is it worth it for that higher price
I'd say that's too expensive the PSU still works fine it's just the lack of included cables that I'm not happy with.
@@thefullsetup well good to know it's still working I found it for £60 today got it on order
@@garrywhyte2559 so hows the psu doing so far, any cons or pros?! I'm intending to buy one because they are way more cheaper than other brands
Heard reviews that because they;'re not a reputable brand that the psus are a huge fire risk, How is it been for you?
Honestly that's a bunch of BS. I have an old chinese PSU 1000w, no 80+ or gold rating in a 1650, i5 4590, 8 GB ram and it's completely fine. I plan on changing it to this gamemax just because it looks nice and I need a fully modular PSU.
@@Gremlor hi, i did end up going with a 550w psu and for the last five or so months, it has ran perfectly and not an issue yet
Is this psu better than Cooler master mwe 550 or Corsair vs550?
NO ! it sucks dick compare to real brand such as Corsair, Cooler Master, or Seasonic
@LtFlames Corsair is a reputable brand, and it only cost few compare to Gamemax or other chinese knockoff brand
Yes it's as good if not better, it has >.99 Active PFC, =>89% Eff, OVP / UVP/ OTP / OCP/ OLP/ OPP/ SCP
Protection and CE / FCC / CB
Safety Regs. You will always find people trying to dis, things they do not have. Usually they're trying to justify buying something that 40% of the price was for the name only.
@@ErnestJay88 Yeah I agree, get something like a Corsair which is made in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, or the Cooler Master which is based in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, but gets it's products made in Huizhou, China
@@ErnestJay88 my Seasonic PSU failed after 15months every company has bad PSU
you are lucky my friend I've contacted gamemax company for a PC case because I couldn't find anywhere even I was offering to pay for it guess what they never responded.
can this gamemax start rx 580 armor 8 gb???
pls help
Yes
I am more curious about the voltage under load than the LED lamps. It is a pity that you will not do such a test.
So far how is this PSU doing? Thanks :)
Been running it in my i5 8400 rig I'm no longer using for benchmarks so is now a Plex server it's been on 24/7 for about 6 months so yeah still going strong

@@jonalynpalisoc9940 i use with my pc like 8 month and still good and awesome
A buddy of mine is using the 850watt version of this psu on his pc and it's giving him hell ...
Imagine the following specs
Amd ryzen 3950x
Rtx 2800
32 gb of ram
Asus tuf x570 plus
All cooled with an asus aio
A simple video render would take an hour if his lucky and the system didn't crash
Gpu usage is at 20% .😕
I advised him to use a diffrent brand like corsair .
What a shame
I was looking for reviews of this gamemax psu, it has GE, VP and GP series, which one your friend is using. I want to know if its not worth the price, then i won't take it, 700 watt GE is around 55$ and 700 VP is around 65.
@@osmankhan6573 it's this one , you can see in the specification that the psu is advertised as 90+ efficient ! 😨

Corsair doesn't sell PSU where I live. I'm going to get Gamemax.
Is gamemax a good brand?
Will that be good for a 2070
2070 requires a minimum of 550w PSU so it will be fine
May i ask, how is this psu after 2 years?
I just ordered the 1050 model.
Al Kohallick good?
@@alkohallick2901 still good

got the 750w because nothing else was available really! Cant even see the rgb on my case haha, oh well
Is it good? It's hard to find psu now and I want one for rtx 2070 super
Same here nothing else was available at the time I bought the other parts also got the 750. How did yours turn out?
is this psu good for the long run though?(lets say 10 years)
ping χν The PCs last, it’s just that they become completely outdated within 5-8 years.
If you’re wanting a psu that’ll run for 10 years, look at the seasonic. Those come with a 10 year warranty.
@@logisticsthenovice Thank you for your suggestion. I actually got a deepcool 550w gold psu. It has a 5 year warranty and could possibly last pretty long.
I have one psu Seventeam 750W for 12 year old. Very very stable on i9 9900K 5,0Ghz, MSI 1070 Ti, MSI Z370 Sli Plus and 2x 8GB DDR4 Corsair RGB 3200 mhz.
Can gamemax 450w 80 bronze handle rx570 +ryzen 3 2200g??
Get 500w minimum
Probably, but you will have no headroom for overclocking and I would recommend that you try to stick to at least 80+ gold rating on power supplies. I've had a bronze rated psu fail on me (luckily it didn't damage any of my other components), I bought it because I was trying to save money and in the end, I spent more than I would have if I had invested a bit more in a decent psu.
@@jonwilliams6996 what's your psu? I don't need overclocking, just for standard gaming
@@rivalditinambunan9459 The one that failed was an EVGA 500B, the system I used it in was not overclocked as it was a budget build with an i3 4160 and a GTX 750ti.
