The PCPanel thing is pretty neat. I remember first hearing about it. Other alternatives that can do similar functions would be midi controllers repurposed for use with a PC to control that stuff. Using software such as NK2tray (with a Korg NanoKontrol2 midi controller) or midi-mixer with any midi controller, you could control the volumes of anything in the windows volume mixer super easy. It's really nice.

    • @Pflanze

You're looking at an expensive BOSE product -that doesn't have that (*@!#) nasal sound of the ASUS adapter. My $50, 450s can cancel - HAND Drill noise. NOT workshop machine shop noise. Different decibels. It has to do with the active "LIMITER" capability of any noise canceller. I could list my collection of noise cancelling headsets but what you are looking for goes beyond mid level capable headsets. If you don't mind the crap sound of the ASUS adapter, then by all means get it. It is better than nothing, i guess. Judging from other comments, i'm not alone in my thinking.

Arduino Nano, a couple of pots and then you either use MIDI Translator Pro or deej - you'll need to set up the Nano as a Midi device in the first case. Inexpensive Midi controllers generally will cost about as much as the PCPanel, at least if you add MIDI Translator Pro to it, but they tend to have more controls as well. But if you aren't averse to soldering, Go with either of the Arduino options, deej cost less, MIDI Translator Pro is more flexible.

@@InSaiyanShinobi Yes, but the combined price of the Nanokontrol 2 and the software they use (powermixer) is about the PCPanel price. Most of that solution also works for the Arduino, where you get to specify which CC and which channel it outputs to. I have an AKAI controller mainly for the pads, but my next controller will be Arduino based because I want big faders and plenty of them and we're talking about 5€ per 120mm fader. And even budget controllers easily cost 10x that per fader if the faders are big.
