Teacher: ‘Fear of the other is the beginning of violence.’
Students: ‘So, should we try to understand people we disagree with?’
Teacher: ‘Oh no! You punch people you don’t agree with because they’re bigots!’
"Punch a Nazi", as they say. No otherizing there, that's for sure.
It's funny since for a group that preaches acceptance, they sure as hell will not give it to the groups they like, even if it meant making the problem worst for everyone involved.
@@UnknownOps That's because they're not genuine. They're just a bunch of narcissists, sociopaths and probably some all-out psychopaths who manipulate people to get ahead and make themselves feel special. They are not genuinely concerned about "social justice" and a "fair" society. Not the hard core at any rate, the others are just the victims of their manipulation, sheep led astray by wolves in sheperd's clothing.
You don't need angry Crunchyroll customers to tell you this show is screaming propaganda 😂
They named all the characters after herbs that are abortifacients. I wonder if anyone caught that.
“Do you know anything about transition magic?” Lmaoooo.
"I know that you'll NEVER be a woman"
The thing is one cc points out a perfect points like why didn't Carroway explains to Snap that what he did is a highly risky path to take? For me that feels impactful even more. Plus what is ironic that even the main characters are all out of character.

"FANTASY LAW ENFORECMENT! OPEN UP!"
That ironically made me laugh hard
@@gaming1zanagi-1999. I'm pretty sure he tells him that in the show (or at the very least, something along those lines).
The fact that its wikipedia page has an entire section for "LGBT representation" tells me everything I need to know about this garbage.

Damn... You know that a show can be full lgbt+ and good right? I mean... this show sucks but leave the others a chance
I'm sorry but I'm going to be that person. Technically Rosemary, Parsley, Thyme and Sage are herbs, not spices. Spices would be like Cinnamon, nutmeg or cloves. Think of it like, if it's from a leaf it's an herb, if it's not it's a spice.

13:19 , "i take a potion once a month to keep the spell active" is evidence that you just cant fucking change
I honestly can't think of a different name here for that single potion rather then: The potion of delusion and disbelief here.........That honestly comes to mind first rather then of transmognification or of transformation to me. (Also edit: I've just re-looked at your comment and have comed to the stark and dark realization here; that they replaced Dilation _with a potion_ instead along with the word "the Neo-gunt" to "the spell".......These fucking things just why? Can somebody please tell me: what is up with the jannies and inserting their sick fixation of Sexualization of it to everything that they do and their near-complete Exhibitionism? Is it the 'tism+overconsumption of H-anime and former incelloristism?
(Btw that's what I like to call the specific ones who both drive the vans of peace'n'love and try to actively do the Rat-ta-tat-tooe's against the college sobrieties here due to the extreme narcissism or are near ((or were close to)) that point.)
I bet these potions are made in a certain "chosen" place, iykwim.
@@fnd2583 My crazy, crazy conspiracy theory here: Is that there are some very, very Crooked-nosed caravanserai Gobbolino's selling these potions afoot and are selling them at ludicrous prices while putting harmful shit in them, so much so that it makes you completely infertile and a monster......of course these fine Gents don't realize that, (even though they should by now realizing that fact that it does beforehand but nevertheless here) untill it's too late, they consume and consume these potions, one after another and day in and day out. untill one day they *don't* need the potion anymore and they become what they wanted *somewhat*, but they soon realize (due to the infertility that it brought) that it's not what they wanted, so they go back to the very, very crooked-nosed Gobbolino's of the Crookked Noze's. to complain about it: and they tell the thing, that "it's what you wanted, isn't it? It's not _Our_ fault that you drank the potions, you came here for a solution and we provided for which you wanted, you should've known not to trust us". Then they pack up their caravan while they laugh all the way to their treasure hordes.....then the monster
Tries to search for a Remedy to fix the disaster that they brought uponst themselves, but they eventually come to the dark realization that *Nothing* will unfix their unfortunate mess that they brought upon themselves, completely broken and distraught they resort to shadow-realming themselves in their local Soduku Forrest's........
And this is why kids you shouldn't never trust a Crooked-nose Gobbolino in the first place let alone a caravansel of them......We all tell or warn you not too but ya'll never listen and you still do it anyways then are shocked when it eventually happens to you:
"I can't believe that this gobbolino literally stabbed me in the back and sold me out for only 30 coins of silver"
"I can't believe that gobbolino stole our purses of gold and is running off with them hanging around their neck"
"I can't believe that this gobbolino lead us into that trap, promising that we would find gold, unique artifacts and a paradise in there, only to find a literal den of savage orcs, sun-bleached bones and a grotto full of foul blood"

"We need women creators in anime!"
Considering that the creator of the most highly rated anime of all time is a woman this seems disingenuous. Hiromu Arakawa is in a league on her own and every work she does is amazing (FMA, Arslan, and Silver Spoon are each perfect and worth the watch/read).
FMA was pretty meh for me. Haven't seen the others.

Yep plus the show didn't even explicitly stated what is the major drawbacks of using new magic. Plus Sage wanting to learn new magic feels weak in matter of fact Sage would be interesting if she is not made to be out of character and have a better motivation like Idk trying to find a way to combine both old and new magic into a new type of magic that cancel out each others weakness's? That motivation alone is already interesting. Not just "oh new magic is very easy to use yet is powerful that old magic can't even handle it" bs. Like I understand if they at least showed us somehow that Old magic is stronger yet hard to use and limitless while new magic is easy to use but not as powerful and is very limited.

"(Wanting to go back to the 80s or 90s) is like wanting to go from third stage cancer back to second stage cancer".
Exactly. The modern rot is just the final form (or at least a later form) of the older rot. Going back isn't going to help. Not every single thing from that era is worthless or unsalvageable, but on the whole much of it won't be worth saving. We should get over them and move onto our own, newer media (I for one would like to recommend Brian Niemeier's "Combat Frame XSeed" books, which are basically a new take on Gundam by a based writer, but there are tons of other "dissident" properties out there like Galaxy's Edge.
When a story is made specifically to push a message, the plot takes a back seat. High Guardian Spice takes that to the extreme.

Wow, that stuff with Snapdragon is messed up. I don’t have many traditionally masculine talents either but I don’t let that stop me trying to live up to the role in what ways I can. I have literally wondered if a feminist regime would would force me to transition for not being the archetypal male, and, well, I guess I have my answer.
Heavenly Father, protect our young men in these turbulent times.
In what way would you describe yourself as a non traditional male? I'm just curious. Seems like a lot of artistic and introverted types, get preyed upon by the lgbt community.
@@Jarl_egbert I don't have any talent for physical activities like sports or heavy labor, and I generally carry myself with a politeness and reservation which most people consider feminine. To compensate I tend to throw myself headlong into maintaining a strong academic record, and I try to be a reliable source to others in matters of faith and learning.
@@peaceribbon8322 I see. There's alot of misconception these days about manhood, and alot of guys, even on this side, seem to think that being a man is about growing a beard, lifting weights, and riding a motorcycle. True masculinity is something that's alot harder to define.
You'll be alright bro, don't think of yourself as less man just because your mind is more suited for academic pursuits than physical. Keep in mind that the greatest minds throughout history, have been male.
@@Jarl_egbert I used to be just like you were all the other boys outperformed me physically. My advice to you is to never give up training yourself physically. Your intelligence will be nigh useless to you if you don't have at least some muscle to back it up. Nowadays I'm pretty decent at both and I've been able to greatly help my family and friends because I have a physically fit body. Even the Ancient Greeks stressed training both body and mind. Don't give up.
A lot of context with Snapdragon's situation was left out, making it seem *really* bad
Before the scene where he talks with the teacher, he dressed as a mermaid and found he really liked it, got hit on by a guy who them promptly called him a freak when he realised Snap wasnt a girl, Snap then really goes into questioning things, then in this episode gets bullied by the same guy til Snap literally beats the shit out of him and just before the clip where Pax claims Snap is groomed he literally says he doesnt like the idea of becoming a manly, masculine guy who grows a bushy beard and wishes he could be more like the girls
Then, later in the episode the teacher says to Snap he has plenty of time to figure things out, that even though transitioning worked for him, it doesnt have to be the answer for Snap, which really seemed to make the poor guy feel better about the whole thing
The teacher doesnt try to convince him, he makes a point that at the end of the day, Snap gets to decide what he wants to be
Anyways, back to you, im glad you were able to be your own definition of masculine, and i dont think anyone with a sound mind would try to force you be trans just because you didnt fit the stereotypical manly man
But the difference between you and Snap is that you didnt ever question if being male felt right (at least, from what youve shared, you didnt), Snap *did*
FMA had an "all" female writing team and its one of the greatest mangas. These writers are just plain bad. They didn't have a plan at all.
Exactly
The writers for this show were probably as confused as us with what they were expected to create.
The writing credits for High Gaurdian Spice on Wikipedia mostly list people who have worked on children's series. So I don't know why anyone was expecting them to hold up the task of writing super "mature" or "adult" content. That's not to say that kid's show writers can't do both, but when none of the people on board had any experience writing for the intended late teen audience it makes sense why the final result feels more like a children's show.
Seriously, even a kid's diary of a wimpy kid fan fic is better then the script of this show
i'm a humble man. When I see a man speaking against post modernism, I subscribe and hit the bell.

Yeah, you don't go to school to learn housewife stuff, you learn that... at home.
Good news, the show isn't acknowledged on Anime Planet.
High Guardian Spice is garbage.
Here's my thoughts on your video, specifically the "The Show's Bad Messages" part:
9:18 As nebulous as what a Guardian is supposed to be, I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be warriors or magicians, so I don't see why High Guardian Academy would train people on how to be home makers or making clothing (not as core classes).
10:00 A lot of series (particularly anime) that takes place in medieval fantasy locations do have more women in traditionally male positions like soldiers or blacksmiths. Are you going to say the same things towards Skyrim?
10:38 That topic has been going on for a long time, even in other parts of the world. So the show trying to address it here isn't inherently a bad idea, but the execution could have been better. Not to mention, Parsley deciding to focus on her schooling but trying to make time to see her family is the best option in her scenario, but you're trying to make it sound like it's a bad thing.
12:29 Even the show can't keep it straight with the idea of Old Magic = Conservative and New Magic = Progressive. It is implied that New Magic is responsible for the Rot that has been appearing throughout the show.
12:56 I get what the writers were trying to go for in that scene (if you're not good at something, try switching it up). But it wasn't done well. And yes, I did notice the "go against your parents" thing when I saw it. They really could have handled that scene better, especially that Snapdragon and Amaryllis traded their family heirlooms but didn't fully agree on the switch.
13:03 That scene was forced. No question about it, especially since it derails the original conversation. For a show that has a warning screen at the beginning of each episode, they really talked down to the viewers. Also, in a world where transformation magic exists in a bottle, why make it so close to how it works in real world?
13:34 I don't see that scene as "grooming". Most people don't, in fact. Still, I think that scene could have been handled better. It probably would have more impact if we learn that Caraway was trans in this scene instead of when he talked to Rosemary.
10:02 You might have to explain the "Civil Rights Law" part to me, since I don't know what you mean by that.
15:12 I don't get how the conservative establishment can have any effect on shows like this. If you said that they create increased political polarization, then you might have a point.
15:39 the morals in 80's and 90's shows are pretty strong. A lot of kids learned how to be good people thanks to shows like He Man and the animated Spiderman show. You really are going for the extremes, aren't you?
16:24 So are you saying that you have to be Christian to be a good writer? That's how you're coming off with that statement.
Wow this is pretty good breakdown of his video
See, I wish I saw more comments like this. THANK YOU!!!
Agreed wholly, actually!
- Yeah, the episodes don't seem to have a consistent analogy for New Magic - is it progressivism, modern technology, industrial pollution, guns, what?
- Now that you mention it, HGS-world's method for transitioning really is in a weird limbo between fantastical and realistic. Although, the fact that all magic in HGS can be reversed just takes away a lot of the emotional weight that goes into transitioning - if one isn't pleased with their change, they can just wait for the spell to expire and go right back to normal with no damage, unlike the real deal.
- Honestly, Caraway's talk to Snapdragon wouldn't be quite as bad if not for certain things that were said to him before - Yarrow and Cal claiming he's more like a girl, and Sage's sexist rant about how guys can't have friendships as deep as girls do. Now it feels like Snap transitioning (specifically him) would be giving in to a conformity out of peer-pressure. Caraway did have a good line about there being many paths to finding your true self, but I don't trust the writing team to make that line have any payoff.
Very annoying you kept framing him as being against it.
You're literally assuming his ideals to fortify your argument. That's lame and disingenuous. If you wanted Pax to read your essay you sure did a lousy job.
@@Mr_Mistah I don't think there was much assumption here, unless Pax is willing to clarify? But that's just me.
I'll never watch it.
I watched this show with my sis to make fun of it but I don't think the writers were necessarily saying that new magic was better all the time. We are around episode 8 or something.
I didn't see it yet but apparently there was a scene where Sage literally kills a sea monster using new magic. It was an accident though.
She ends up feeling really terrible and the elderly teacher says that new magic can be rather uncontrollable. "New magic" seems to be related to new forms of technology. There's stuff like disposable spell technology and devices. If they had more screen time, the writers probably would have had her use both types of magic or something.
Also, I never really saw romance as a big part of this show aside from Snap and Sage or that Aster guy. Was it really that blatant?
But anyway, Slime Boy is the best character, top tier.
I appreciate how you put actual content on the screen and not your face.
There's a lot of Satanic symbology imbued in the show. That's even worse than the muddy plot and the apparent stupidity.
Pagans gonna pag.
@@KennethSee even pagans can't create such monstrosities like this show
@@KennethSee lol don't blame pagans for this atrocity.

How did we go from Walt to this?
It's Because of the Communist Writers Guild in Hollywood, that's why (or a reason of said why)
This kind of stuff has also been seeping into the intentionally wrong translations of actual shows with weird lispy and no doubt nepotistic voice casting. I've seen this in a few recent games too.
even ralph bakshi would call this communst propaganda
Indeed
Thank you for your sacrifice and service to the community.
I just found your channel and binged every video, love your takes man
the art style looks like a bad indie game
Wow, you actually watched this whole train wreck? Your sacrifice is much appreciated.
Man has perfeclty explained why I reject western media and embrace actual anime
Good video as always, Pax!
6:07 same with the technology base.
It ranges from 1100 to 3025. Yes you read that right. There's a giant robot in the series. And somehow it's still considered high fantasy.
Hmm, D&D had a lot of sci-fi elements in the first edition, official modules had spaceships and alien tech. "Mythical Science Fiction" is also a genre. Having advanced technonology doesn't necessarely make a setting non-high-fantasy.
Though having you characters dress like 21st century activists does disqualify your setting.
Bro I was having breakfast and I did not effing enjoy watching the staff while eating
My morning is ruined
I bet this people tried to copy little witch academia but fail miserably.
When you listed off the staff who help make HGS I died inside
The fact rhat this "anime" could have been good 💀
Forgive me for scrolling down every half a minute to look at the comment section, it's not your fault, it's the blatantly awful animation going on.

Oh you think misogyny is funny? Replace "misogyny" with "female comedians".
Not so funny now, is it?
What's your point?
I forgot I was subscribed to crunchyroll. I cancelled and told them it was because of this show.
You're not alone then.
We live in a hellscape.
Why do people hate traditions? Sure some are outdated and needs to adapt, not change and rework everything, tradition is not peer pressure from the dead, it's not the worship of ashes, it's the worship of the flame that has guided humanity to the proper path for so long and the reason why we always tell others not to reinvent the wheel, you can attach things to it but never ever change it, seriously what's up with that.
Traditions are bad when they have a negative effect on progress
Ironically enough, High Guardian Spice has inspired me... to do the exact opposite with my story!! In that I am going to fight tooth and nail to make sure God remains at the very heart and soul of my works.
It's YA, but I'd rec checking out The Daystar Voyages some time for pointers, especially in regards to *hard* sci-fi. It's commendable Morris & Meeks keep that feeling throughout in a genre that typically goes out of its way to "dispel belief in the supernatural" as being something only illogical and backwards people do
Just don't make it cringe
Sage, Rosemary, Parsley, and Thyme... Isn't that the lyrics for Scarborough Fare?
Yes, yes it is.
You are doing Gods work☦️
Amazing video as always Pax
I really like your channel. Thank you for being bold and speaking out about this wokeness issue!
Why am I getting super nostalgic for the time I was watching Pax Tube a year ago.
This was a great vid Pax
