Yeah, if they just drop half a dozen mandalorians on that ship, no way the pirates can stop them from taking over. Four of them took over an imperial ship against dozens stormtroopers just last season.

That is a really small explosion for a ship that size.
But then again it wouldn't really make good watching if Mando saved the townspeople from getting blasted only to have them be vaporized by the impact blast.
Eh, it's on the other side of a hill so unless the reactor went nuclear (is that even a thing in starwars? I cannae remember) the hill would deflect the blast energy up away from the town. There's your suspension of disbelief still in tact ;)
Star Wars Ships have a reactor for power but they still use fuel for thrust / engines and to power the reactor afaik? Ik they use to Anna gas for weapons from laser pistols to turbo lasers

I'd have to be honest to my 10 year old self though: the special effects are now movie quality but most of the characters are worse quality than in the Saturday morning cartoons I was watching in the 90s.
Which is pretty low bar these days.

I hate how star wars forgets that shields are a thing. every burst of fire or damage is always hull damage. not even a hint of shields.

They were so lucky that the ships technology was from the star wars universe, if this was the Star Trek universe and the ship exploded on the planet, the anti matter engines would of wiped out half the planet.

We run cars off petrol instead of wood, in spite of petrol being a lot more dangerous. Why? Because cars that ran on wood (yes, it's a real thing) were very slow, and their engines enormous.

Great view of the ship at 1:01 which shows the dazzle stripes well. It’s cool that dazzle ships are getting more recognition, especially in science fiction. I sometimes wonder if it’s the Chris Foss influence.

That pirate ship had weakass shields and armor!
I think it was the missiles they took in the stern. Also, pirate ships historically weren't well protected. They trusted to their prey having limited weapons, and more limited will to fight.
It likely excelled at other things. Pirates aren’t exactly prepared to take heavy firepower. Their goal is to intimidate their prey, not actually fight.
God that N1 Is amazing! Still say they should have tried to capture It tho they could have used It when retaking they're world.

The Mandalorians didn’t want to capture the Corsair because the ship was owned by a dishonorable pirate crew. Mandalorians have a thing for honor, and there was no honor in the history of the Corsair.

Why do the producers have no respect for the lore? That is a dated star fighter that would not be able to take down a capital ship with turbo lazers alone. It would need torpedos, this is the same BS the JJ pulled with the 2 man Tie fighter and poe and the black guy flying it without pressure suits on. Its just a complete disregard for the laws of how the SW universe works and its annoying because its just lazy. #justiceforCaraDune
Here’s a counter-argument. The Gauntlet is a heavily armed craft, built for war. The N-1 is heavily modded. The pirate ship is a bit old and outdated, considering the sheer number of projectile weaponry onboard. Its shields wouldn’t have been expected to last long. There have been many cases in SW of similar sized ships going down to a few starfighters, plus from the looks of it the N-1 is firing concentrated blasts.

This doesn't break the lore and it is not a capital ship, by Naval standards it wouldn't be more than a patrol vessel and the N-1 starfighter was designed for Naboo's security forces, one of the primary missions of local militias and security forces would have anti piracy operations.
