      Usually old republic era ships is way smaller than New republic, even the galactic empire era. Basically the size of galactic empire era frigate for their main battleship. Also in the old time, hyperspace engine is something that only exist on the main spaceship. Starfighter usually don't have hyperspace engine and can't go too far between Planet with Millions years distance without the help of spaceship.

    friends . There's something really funny about planetary dimensions. If you tried to walk on every planet bigger than the earth, you would break your back. for the little ones, a slight jump would get you to hilarious heights! at the same time, the atmospheric density of the minor planets must be less than the larger ones. Or creatures taller than humans evolve on planets smaller than Earth. the smaller ones evolve on the larger planets. All the planets on which these films take place must have roughly the size of the earth and gravity so that humanoid life can be sustained. and there is so much more to say!.

    • @TheAns51
      @TheAns51 Před rokem

      True and not true. Planet that does support human life doesn't need to be same size as earth. It can be twice the size but it's mass needs to be close to same as earth to be comfortable. A moon sized planet can support life if it's mass is enough to form atmosphere ect. but for smaller size it needs to be a lot more dense than earth to reach close to a same mass. Earth is the densest object in our solar system. Also, according to NASA's Ames Research Center's expert on humans in space, a person has survived 2x Earth's gravity for 24 straight hours without ill effects. They go on to claim that it is theoretically possible for a human to adapt to a gravity environment that is between 2x and 3x that of the Earth so in theory humanity can survive on a planet with twice the gravity. But back problems would be a thing for one or two generations before body adapts to higher gravity and humans would grow shorter but more muscular.

    • @foxdown
      @foxdown Před rokem +34

      @@TheAns51 My friend, you did not understand the issue. ok i understand you, but you are talking with data. If a Star Wars movie were tried to be shot above the planets above, some of the camera crew and George Lucas would have been crushed. Some of them could not even stand. did you understand it? it has nothing to do with generations. All the planets above are fictitious. therefore, what you want to say is true and not true 😂

    You know... Sometimes, I wish these sort of videos was like... Made by some form of modeler who's actually modeled each ship themselves. Instead of some guy who finds these models online and download them, hence the varying degree of detail present (Easily noticed between the Millenium Falcon and Kom'rk-class fighter).
    Like... Because, I feel like we give these people more credit than they honestly deserve. They didn't make these models, they simply grabbed a few from other modelers and put 'em together in this scale, and made a video from it. Sure, they probably did the camera movement and information boxes, but again, they didn't do the models.
    I would LOVE to see someone makes this type of video, but who ALSO actually made every single model in the video. Because THAT deserves some serious attention.

    I don't feel like the Amidala's royal starship is actually large enough to be what we see in the films - seems like there's actually not enough volume compared to a human to be more than a 1-2 person vessel.

      I think if someone were to take the time to calculate the scale based on reference from the movies, a lot of ships would not match their canon size.

    Coruscant is still one of the most interesting planets in all mainstream fiction. Ekunumopolis of the size of the Earth, if Earth had land everywhere. Not even mentioning the lower levels. To me that's even more impressive than a Starkiller base. RIP.

    I"m actually quite surprised at how slow most of the fighters at atmosphere, modern day jet fighters are way faster!

      I was surprised about that too, I was also surprised there weren't any pod racers included at the beginning. I'm guessing some of the ships have a light speed capability.

      Modern day jets aren't made for space travel though. I assume the in universe reasoning would be that there's no reason to give a spacecraft such powerful engines when it's in a vacuum

    Great work with the models, but some issues stuck out. The rating of the HCR, in particular. For some ships, it's listed as "1 HCR". In others it's listed as "C.1 HCR", making it seem at first glance like the C.1 is 10 times faster. Some ships that we *know* to be hyperdrives equipped don't have HCRs listed. Possibly the most painful, though, is the data is listed in different orders on some ship!

    When you look at the scale of these things, it makes it even more ridiculous to think that the death star was blown up by a fighter. That thing would have so many power plants and redundant systems. But then it wouldn't make people feel good knowing that evil prevailed, just as it does everyday in the real world.

    • @micah3331

      Considering the story in "Rogue One" it makes a lot more sense since the fatal flaw was put there by design, it puts a lot of what we see in New Hope and your concerns into perspective. Directly conquering this thing would be a Warhammer 40k undertaking, it would bog down the entire Rebellion resources. But disabling it's power supply and crippling the main weapon would be an amazing achievement, the staff knows the station is lost and life support is about to give way so they evacuate (scratch 1 literal genocide that Luke did). The station is left as a space hulk the Rebels could just repair the drive and move it to uncharted space. The Empire doesn't just get a huge financial deficit, but a deficit that travels from one side of the galaxy to another and is now a calling card, the idea that your planet-killer weapon is now in hands of the enemy would make a lot of changes in the plot.
