    just wanted to clarify my comment in the beginning, my cat has diagnosed OCD from his vet! you might know I’m a mental health advocate and have a degree in psychology, I am the last person to throw around a term like OCD as a descriptor.

Not sure if some of these are more thriller than horror though. Also, your kitty may do better with one of the inflatable collar/cones than the plastic one it has right now-its easier for them to eat. You could also try a cat booty for the one foot. I am a Shudder subscriber, and enjoy it very much. I highly recommend subbing. I have seen all the movies you suggested, and your list is spot on. Like you, the zombie genre is my least favorite horror, and needs to be tucked away for awhile. But, "It Stains the Sand Red' is a very different, very original take. I felt the zombie was in love with her, and it was kind of heartwarming. Great list and great reviews!

    *FRAILTY NEEDS TO BE MORE WELL KNOWN!* EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH IT! I just rewatched it last night! That's so funny you brought it up! Its such a good movie. I rarely rewatch movies but I've seen Frailty at least 4 times! I usually don't like Matthew Mcconaughey but he's so good in it! Frailty and True Detective are his best pieces of work in my opinion. Frailty is a must watch though. I wouldn't really call it horror more like idk actually. It's almost like a drama but with a dash of psychological thriller or even mystery but it's not really a thriller it's like it's it's own genre. Watch it. It's free on Prime right now! *GO WATCH IT NOW!*

    The Den!! It's a found footage type film that takes place mostly on webcams and chat rooms, but it's SO good. I think it's hard to make a movie that takes place on a computer screen, but it really pulls it off and manages to build a lot of suspense

    A horror movie that I don't think I ever hear anyone talk about is Nine Dead. Came out in 2010 and is more of a thriller-mystery kind of thing with a realistic setting. Nine people are kidnapped and have to figure out why they're there before the clock runs out. Pretty simple plot, but the story, I find, is compelling enough that you want to keep watching just to understand why they're all there. I don't know where it can be streamed, but I'd recommend it; it's a good time even if others were to say it's good, bad, or meh.

    @neutralman9124 Před 3 lety +18

    This is the beat list you've made (as in I agree the most) besides FearDotCom and I haven't seen It Stains the Sands Red.
    The Loved Ones is horrifying, in the best way possible. Robin McLeavy, Xavier Samuel and John Brumpton give extraordinary performances, it's one of the most disgusting movies I've ever seen, and it isn't my type of horror, but my God is it expertly executed and terrifying.
    FearDotCom is one of the worst movies I've ever seen haha. It literally makes NO sense, is hilariously cheesy and it's incredibly boring.
    Triangle is also one of my favourite movies of all time. It's perfect. Melissa George is up there with Jamie Lee Curtis, Essie Davis and Kathy Bates in female horror movie performances. She's mind-blowingly good and it's heartbreaking
    Eden Lake is relentless and that it goes on and on and on and it's amazing. Fantastic performances (fun fact, the female star, Kelly Reilly bullied my mother in school), especially by Reilly and it's visceral as f***.
    Antiviral is fine. It's beautiful in a gross way, and it's very interesting. The plot doesn't go anywhere and Landry Jones is very good.
    The interconnected aspect of Southbound is what makes it work for me. It isn't perfect, as always with movies like this, some of the stories aren't as good as others, and it is silly, but it's entertaining.
    Starry Eyes doesn't work for me, but the acting is really good. I think it's too shallow with the commentary, it's just the most basic way show themes like this. It's also really entertaining despite my issues.

    Session 9 (2001) in my opinion is very underrated.
    Honestly the area it was filmed in is more famous/infamous than the film and it's actors.
    The Danvers State Mental Hospital. That's right haunted central.
    The Danvers State Hospital is believed by literary historians to have served as inspiration for the infamous Arkham sanatorium from H.P. Lovecraft.
    Once you understand what really happens it's very disturbing.

I have been _BEGGING_ horror CZcamsrs like yourself to talk about We Go On since it first came out, it _never_ got any attention on CZcams which is so sad. It's not that it's a mindblowing story or anything but the audio-driven fear atmosphere is so incredibly well done. And the makers of the movie are really interactive with the tiny audience that did see and love the movie. Especially now that it's on Shudder I'm really hoping more people will talk about it.
