Tinnitus Flosser Masker at 8kHz May Mask Yours

  • Noise listeners requested an 8kHz focused noise as a tinnitus masker (or flosser) to help with ear fatigue such as tinnitus. This is a narrow band of high frequency boosted with other frequencies reduced. Often noise creations are layers for a fuller sound like the Tinnitus Scrubber • Tinnitus Scrubber is H... . This one is narrow focused and a single (stereo) 8000Hz boosted source.
Some listeners will like it if they have ringing in their ears around this frequency as it will mask the ringing. It will lose effectiveness at frequencies farther away from 8000Hz.
Listening at low volume is a good idea.
This creation, as with all creations is experimental and your comments are appreciated.
If you have hearing issues visiting a audiologist is a good idea.
I am an audio engineer and creator of ambient noise and sounds who has occasional ear fatigue and have dedicated some content creation to this end and study contemporary research on ear-fatigue.
There is good work being dine in this field and more to do before tinnitus and related hearing afflictions are fully understood. The American Tinnitus Association is one source on the subject and a place to learn more.
    Thanks for listening, Dale

After battling tinnitus for well over 2 years and after trying pretty much EVERYTHING I learned that what helps my tinnitus isn't just one thing. In fact, most has to do with your overall wellness. Here are a few suggestions. B-12! Taking B-12 supplements has not only helped with my tinnitus but has helped restore my overall health. Also, sunlight and long walks. Jogs or runs can be a plus. Avoiding loud music or sounds would help to. Staying away from caffeine, greasy foods and or alcohol will help lower tinnitus by a lot. But my overall advise for tinnitus sufferers is to learn ways to cope with their tinnitus. Once you learn not to let it bother you so much it won't really matter.

It somewhat works for me, but I’m almost not even needing the white noise…might just try to find what my own tinnitus Hz are (I have a couple of pitches that ring simultaneously-yes it’s just awesome). My hope is to do a phase cancel. That’s how sound engineers remove some sounds from recordings. You’re welcome if that helps a scientist develop new tinnitus relief..just hone in on what frequencies your tinnitus is--pitch matching could phase cancel the ringing..dunno

Thanks for making this. I have had tinnitus apparently all my life, I never even considered that others didn't have this, thought it was an artifact of the ability to hear. I have slept with a fan since being a toddler & have had aquariums since 13 so most of my life I have the sound of water trickling in the background. It was only a few years ago that I was shocked to find this was not normal! I noticed it got louder in places where it was silent & attributed to the gain in my brain being turned up to search for any little sound. Anyway, I am fairly young & had a stroke recently & the tinnitus has been so loud that it began to bother me. I found this last night & listened to it until I fell asleep last night & found the relief from it I was looking for. Today it was it was much more at my baseline, thank goodness! I am not a fan of pharmaceuticals & would be unwilling to add to what I am already having take so I am glad I found this, it truly helps, bless you for putting it on here again.😇

@Janet Van Brunt , it is such an odd & frustrating thing, being able to sense things others can not. I am also on the autism spectrum, didn't know until my late 30's, well actually I have known since I was 6, I was not like others but I didn't know there was a name for it or that I wasn't alone (females often present very differenty then males & socially camouflage better which is just being recognized more). I guess for most of my life, I didn't try to compare myself to others, good thing too, lol. I am fascinated as to why or how it could get so much louder after a stroke. I really haven't look into this more yet but I am willing to bet this is more common after a head injury. Thankfully, this really did help bring me back down to *my* more normal tolerable levels. Hope it gets quieter for you.🙏💓Thanks for your comment!

My tinnitus is blood sugar related so that is pretty frustrating. I am happy some of you got what I got from listening.
If I may I would like to make a suggestion. Because of my pain and tinnitus, I stay as busy as my body lets me. I am not mobile so I sculpt with polymer clay, watercolor paint, coloring books for when I am bored, watching tv or CZcams at the same time. Most of the time I am doing three things at once. Art, visually stimulating tv, and mentally stimulating computer stuff. This helps a ton.
The other day the power went out and I thought I would go mad from the silence around me so all I could hear was the high pitched squeal in my head. I set up a stand to hold a book open in front of me, grabbed some clay and the battery powered radio, and took some deep breaths to calm my nerves. After a few pages, I didn't notice it. I knew it was there but I had meditated to relax the nerves it jangles.
    I hope this helps someone.
I live in constant nerve and muscle pain, not to mention Erythromelalgia which makes my skin feel like I am being scalded or burned on a bad day. It is all over my legs. This is unrelenting chronic and acute. So, when I developed tinnitus I thought "Can life get any worse?" Never ask that question, please.

I stumbled upon your “Tinnitus Flosser Masker at 8kHz,” and was reading the comments as I listened to the steady tone for about 3 minutes. At about the 3-minute mark, I paused the video, and-to my utter astonishment and disbelief-my tinnitus was reduced by about 80 percent. I am 65 years old, and have suffered with loud, annoying tinnitus for many, many years. I went to an audiologist probably 6 years ago to get help with this problem. She said there was no cure, but they gave me a hearing test and said I had hearing loss between 4kHz and 8kHz-I guess that explains why music can sound dull, particularly cymbals and other high-pitched instruments. Anyway, let me pause this now and see if the level of tinnitus is still reduced-yes, it is still reduced by a lot. I’m going to listen to these tones awhile longer just to see if my tinnitus level stays low, or how long until it returns. This may be something I come back to on a daily basis-perhaps listen for 30 minutes or so at a time. I’m cautiously optimistic at this point. Having said that, I’m sure my tinnitus didn’t develop overnight, so I’m not expecting it to go away, if at all, overnight. Still……

Every sound can be recognized as a note. I would listen, hum, and try to “tune” myself to the pitch of my tinnitus. Successful, but too much burden of concentration.
And now this vid- I love it. Not exactly my “note”, and I can feel a little dissonance when the volume balances. It’s actually a good thing. There’s a hint of a battle, and it dissipates as your tone wins out as mine becomes overpowered and retreats.
I appreciate the many efforts put forth for free on youtube, and I have my favorites. But this one stands out boldly and vanquishes the intruder rapidly, like no other. Bravo! It really does work!
Yes, the demons return quickly in its absence. The metaphors are endless. But now the tinnitus doesn’t have to be.

Gracias 🙂

I stumbled across these years ago after my doctor sent me home and told me to turn on a fan. At this point I have come to accept the ringing and our relationship is on relatively good terms. But every now and then I need a break and that's where this comes in handy. I find it masks while listening, my breathing gets deeper and I feel a sigh of relief rather quickly. After listening it seems to tamp down the ringing for sometimes months.

I've been combining these tinnitus maskers with other youtube videos like "Calming music for nerves". I set the individual volumes (dial it in a little bit) and it's pure bliss. Really helps ease the tinnitus. I find that mixing the tinnitus blocker with soothing music really brings it all together. Thank you very much.

If you listen to this with relatively high volume where it starts ringing uncomfortably, that is exactly what I hear 24/7. I can hear up to 14khz but between 8khz and 10khz my left ear is much worse than my right one and my tinnitus seems to be at that frequency. Most of the time I can ignore it but it's still always bothering on an unconscious level. After listening to this it is not completely gone but rather has a very pleasant constant tone instead of the ringing to it for a while, thank you!

just found this, haven’t done much masking, too busy looking for a cure, doing audio notch, Neosensory, supplements etc etc. I’ve had hissing tinnitus for about 7 years and I feel like I can feel it in my head and ears, like it’s part of me. This masker feels like outside noise, and I can’t hear my own!! What a nice break to recuperate , regroup and calm the nerves from constant noise. Fantastic, thanks for doing this!!

I found an amazing Audiologist......yes this freaking torture can go away.
I told her about Dalesnales noises and played them....she has heard of them.
I have hearing aids now because of low & high picked hearing loss that has been complicated by several, 7 to be exact, mismanaged infections, low sodium which I was hospitized for, since last November. I already had an anxiety disorder which was a recipe for tinnitus.
I have generators in the hearing aids now....she does not like the word MASKER as she says one should NOT completely MASK the tinnitus.
She does like the selection of all the noises and how I use them to go to sleep or when I take the hearing aids out.
Tinnitus and getting rid of it IS A PROCESS and please find a competent Audiologist that is willing to listen to you and see you once a week, mine does not charge for the weekly visits and the help, tune up, questions, and mainly how to live while going through the process of helping the brain stop the fight or flight it is going through.
These noises are are a GOD SEND for all of us but just remember not to completely tune out the ringing.....keep yourselves positive and active and as corney as this may sound , keep strong, calm and believe you will be healed from this freaking monster....it takes work but know that people are out there like Dalesnale and good Audiologists to help you all.
I like the FLOSSER & VIOLET NOISE......I am listening to it now.
Keep strong everyone. Everyday I feel better and better.
Thank you Dalesnale for all your work and these sounds.
    They help me EVERY DAY.

This is the best clip out of all of them, there was one other that I found but it only goes for an hour. I actually need to have it the entire duration of my sleep, otherwise I will wake up. I even have it going during the day around the house when I’m passing around. The only time I never noticed my tinnitus is when I am out with friends for dinner, or some other social event.
