  • By request 10kHz focused noise tinnitus masker to help with ear fatigue. Actually 9800Hz, which sounded better to me and a more unique noise offering. This is the latest in the Noise Masking for Ear Fatigue series focused on specific ranges of tinnitus. There is also sweeping noise ambient creations that pass through a listener's specific ringing frequency for a moment, that may offer some relief. Some listener's just listen to noise to relax or concentrate, though these are usually at a broader frequency range such as Pink Noise, White Noise or Brown Noise (and many more custom noises here on the channel).
These hit or miss creations work for some listeners reducing or relieving tinnitus to a certain degree, and will not work for others as reflected in the comments. The comments are a good place to share your experience with ear fatigue. It may help others in their situation,.
The mystery of tinnitus and ear fatigue, where it comes from, and an ultimate cure remain unknown at this time. While some claim to be 'cured' in the comments, these comment rarely explain the how and why leaving the intention questionable.
It is known, exposure to loud sounds over periods of time are harmful. Trauma can trigger ringing. Poor health, such as high blood pressure, poor diet and certain drugs may be contributing factors.
That said, listening to noise at low volume is recommended. No need to crank it up like a concert (which is also bad for the ears).
    Thanks for listening, Dale

Dale, is it possible to create two sounds, one for the left ear at a certain range + or -; one for the right ear at a certain range + or -?
I think my right ear is currently at a higher and louder pitch than my left ear.

Tinnitus IS PAIN for some of us, all sufferers experience this affliction differently. If I am exposed to loud music, concerts etc. I will have severe pain below the ears on both sides shooting down my neck for about two weeks and it is quite excruciating. Please protect your hearing people!
This "masker" is very helpful (as long as you listen at lower volume levels) too loud and it WILL make it worse for you. Thank you Dalesnale for this video!

I got tinnitus for about three years and you have to keep going
    control from anxiety
    blood pressure balance
    good sleep
and sound masking in several ways at the same time
The process can be frustrating, anxious and wanting to give up feels impossible, but you have to persevere
Start with the cranial nerves with drugs for anxiety and neuroinflammation
    With tinnitus masking
    just yesterday it disappeared
Thanks for the voice provided by this channel

I have had tinnitus since I was 21, now 53. It’s changed many times over the years, and sometimes has been a layer of constant noise with variable pulsatile tinnitus. The pulsatile version went away all of a sudden after about 5 years. Recently it’s been the most intrusive it’s ever been. Ringing is in my head not my ears. But this sound is relieving. Like it lifts a bit of the pressure out of my head. I’m actually confident/hopeful that my sound will change or diminish because it has happened before. Thank you for posting this. I started noticing faint buzzing in my ears at the tail end of last year after a particularly bad bout of allergies, and it has helped me out tremendously while my these sounds have spiked in the last few days. Looking through the comments here, it seems that it has helped a lot of others as well. But today I realized this may not be the best way to handle tinnitus...
I see a lot of places on the internet -- especially websites offering tinnitus 'treatment' -- suggest masking as a solution for ringing in your ears. While masking is good in the short term, it is avoiding the actual problem: the problem that you feel an intense anxiety due to the ringing in your ears. I speak to this with some authority because I had the same exact pattern with OCD in my early adulthood (and I believe there is a large crossover w/tinnitus and OCD symptoms), and part of the 'reprogramming' of my brain in order to deal with OCD wasn't to try and avoid unpleasant and obsessive thoughts (like a mask), but to interact with them in a healthy but engaged manner. Unwanted thoughts handled in a negative way leads to anxiety; anxiety leads to obsession; obsession leads to your mind producing unwanted thoughts. Facing your unwanted thoughts head-on breaks this cycle as the anxiety over unwanted thoughts wanes. Your brain, not sensing the urgency of these unwanted thoughts begins to habituate to them until they become infrequent or, at the very least, manageable.
I noticed early today that I was not applying any of my mental tools with OCD to tinnitus. While I was out shopping I started to once again focus on the ringing in my ears. I had a panic and began to wish I had my headphones so that I could listen to white noise in order to dull the stinging ring. I felt like I needed to rush home and lay down and put a white noise machine on in order to calm myself. I felt pathetic and miserable, and I could feel that depression seep in through my anxiety. When I got home I immediately grabbed my headphones and popped on this video. But this is the problem with masking -- all I am doing is training myself to avoid an actual problem. I am now Pavlov's dog, but instead of running at the call of an actual bell, I produce my own in my head. I can't stand what happens in silence so I attempt to avoid it at all cost -- the exact opposite of what I should be doing: confronting my mental problems in a positive way and learning to handle them in a healthy and sustainable manner.
While it is for sure that masking sounds (like this video) help by muddling the internal ringing, looking through the comments here, it may be turning into nothing but another symptom of tinnitus for some. While I understand that tinnitus is incredibly frustrating to deal with...it may be better to, instead of reaching for a white noise video, turn off all external noise in the house, sit down in a chair, breathe deeply and from your belly, and learn to reprogram your thought patterns.

Ideally you should have the level of the masking noise low enough so that the tinnitus is still there for that reason. I think masking noises are extremely beneficial because they relieve the anxiety so you can start the process of accepting and eventually ignoring it. As long as you have anxiety about it, it will be perpetuated.

Sound therapy and masking devices help rehabilitate the brain by sending signals that mimic this symptom, so that the sufferer will feel more comfortable. When we suffer from tinnitus, it makes us stressed, the stress triggers our threat response, so we’re almost certainly going to notice it more. The truth is, it’ll only get better or disappear once the sufferer learns how not to ‘hear’ it. I consider it to be a hallucination.

As an audio engineer,, 3.8kHz (3.5 to 3.8kHz) is an area that always needs fine adjustment to keep a concert or recording mic from not sounding "harsh". When people describe a sound as harsh, this range is where the EQ notch begins.

Watch out!! At 6 hrs in there’s a friggin advertisement!!! I was sound asleep thinking this was a 10 hr clip with NO ADs when I was jolted awake by a commercial!! I have T in my left ear and it’s moderate to severe. Last night it was an 8. I listen to these 10 hr clips through a Bose Bluetooth speaker a couple feet from my head. I have to have the volume at about 3/4 on my iPhone to effectively mask my loud tinnitus! Problem is the ad is 20 times louder than the noise file!!! Was not expecting any ads!
I usually listen to the 14 k violet smoother that I bought and downloaded on my iPhone but when my tinnitus is at its worst, the 14 k violet noise doesn’t mask it as the pitch of my tinnitus seems higher.
I found this one last night and even though it’s 9.5k- it masks my T which was great!! So I listened to the CZcams video thinking it would be 10 hrs long with no ads!!! Bummer!!

There are no mid roll ads selected on my channel in preferences set video by video. CZcams has been made aware of this issue and is working to resolve the issue. It may have something to do with auto-updates to web browsers and/or system updates triggering an ad when completed. I hope it gets solved soon. Mid-roll ads compromise the experience and I would never intentionally engage them as it ruins the overnight listening experience.

Thanks! This has been a life saver for me. I'm not sure I'm using it right to achieve habituation, but it can be a tremendous relief when I'm having a spike or I just become weary of the sound in my head. Your sound therapy is part of my arsenal of coping techniques in dealing with my very high pitched tinnitus. Thank you again!
