It's crazy how these animated Clone Wars spin-off anthologies look 100 times more interesting than any of the live-action shows lately.
iv'e had a personal theory of mine for a while that it might be be because of how animated 'set pieces' will always look good because they use the same art style as the animated show. With live-action, CGI still seems to have an uncanniness to it that just makes it not feel as real. Personally, this looked way cooler than the acolyte.
@goofball1_134 except the cgi in the new trilogy wasn't the issue at all
Wonder if SW will slowly transition to animation, theyve been the more successful ones lately. Plus more freedom for fight scenes and wont need to worry about ppl's looks from aging.
I don't know, the well is looking pretty dry with this one. Seems like derivative scraps cobbled together for a story that doesn't need to be told.
That's because they wrote the live action shows like cartoons. That doesn't work. Unlike Andor, it's written like an actual show.
It's funny how much more exciting this "Dark Side focused" series looks in comparison to The Acolyte.
Barriss be like "damn Anakin, nice suit" but also, "wait, you fought me when I framed Ahsoka and now you joined the dark side?"
Don’t think she knows it’s him
That’s sure going to be an awkward situation
@@callanramos7095 She will.
Barriss won't be an inquisitor for long. She bombed the Temple because she knew the Jedi were no longer serving the greater good. Why would she fight with the enemy who caused the fall of the Jedi and what they stood for? Once she realizes Palpatine was behind the war all along, she will Bolt. She will either escape or be killed by Vader.
@@TheDarkPorkinsShe's dead.

@@BttrDToasT72 I didn't see anything sequel related
To be fair:
1) this trailer totally erased the funk that people were in for the Acolyte trailer, so I consider that a very successful fix

i wish it was Tales of the Sith. imagine 2 stories. one the establishment of the "rule of two" with Darth Bane, then the second story, Darth Plagueis and the rise of Palpatine. i felt Filoni played it safe with this one
They won't explore the Sith until people are losing interest in Star Wars altogether
@@KingShibe you mean... right now? xD
This just goes to show, that they're going to explore all of them not bound to one. Tales of the rebels, sith, clones, high republic. We can get so much more content outside of this. Can't wait till tales of the empire I loved them in the OT
@@curssorrydevotee2738 i always wanted an empire side of the story, via games, but ill give this a chance. i just want to see more risks and creativity with storytelling. the galaxy just feels like a neighborhood. we rotate around the same eras and characters

I feel like at this point Alex hates his job so much, he looks so done with this.
I'd be done with it too. He says in all the bad TV show reviews that he is done and wouldn't be watching the shit if Joe wasn't making him, technically. I'm sure Alex would be focusing on things he actually enjoys instead of just doing things for the sole purpose of shitting on them, like this show has become. Joe always gets so gleeful whenever he can talk about the bad things in the industry. EXCITED to play games that he knows will be bad so that he can be the whiny little negative nancy that he is
@@damngamgee3739 Nobody is making him do anything, if he doesn't like it he can go get another job. He rarely adds anything to the videos apart from sitting there with a sour look on his face and saying he doesn't care.
This actually looks pretty good. Knowing its from disney tho im sure it will end up in flames when released.
Some unknown character I have never heard of defeated Grevious? At this point he wasn't even an actual threat.
Watch Mando season 2 and Ahsoka, Morgan appears in them
Bruh Grievous quite clearly defeated her. Did you never watch CW? He successfully destroyed the Night Sisters.
Watch, they're gonna 180 Barris from the clone wars, she's secretly against the Empire just like Reva, Asokha season 2 she's a Jedi again
It wouldn't be a 180 though. Her motive for the attack on the Jedi Temple was because she felt that they had lost their way and were puppets.
@@TheDarkPorkins Great point, I'm even less interested in the story now that I know they're literally just doing that

I really want them to do a Tales of the Bounty Hunters shows next
They should do that and maybe another one about clones, where it focuses on just them
Alex: says something
Joe: immediately disagrees 😂
It wasn't the Empire that wiped out the Nightsisters and Dathomir. General Grevious (under orders from Dooku) led the Droid Army against Dathomir. The scene showing Elsbeth and Thrawn takes place (likely) when Thrawn was a Republic Navy officer (before the Empire) and so Elsbeth aligned with the Republic and Thrawn, then the Republic became the Empire and she naturally remained aligned with them because the Republic-turned Empire defeated the Separatists.
How has Joe not heard of Revenge of the 5th????
that’s what I said 😂
I'm happy we get to see the story of the Magistrate from the Mandalorian. I thought she seemed familiar.
I really don’t care about Morgan at all tbh. I hope there’s a Vader centred episode that they’re keeping hush hush
Joe, where did you get that shirt?
Looks wayy better than the acolyte.
I want the trailer for "Tales of before Kathleen Kennedy where we undo everything after and including episode 7 and just to the Zahn trilogy like we should have."
The Zahn trilogy would be eh too
I just can't clap when I see things I remember anymore. My hands hurt.
Ita crazy how little i remember about recent SW shows except for Andor, the only one that was memorable for me. Even the bad batch which i like i find myself forgetting things
The inquisitor from ashoka in this actually died in rebels didn't he when they were on the sith planet and his stupid flying lightsaber breaks and he falls from a great height.
The animation and textures are INSANE, I think this might be the prettiest computer animated show ever
Grievous better be on the 2003 clone wars power level and toying with his food in that fight
I want them to continue with this Tales anthology series. Do Tales of the Sith, Tales of the Bounty Hunters (or Tales of the Underworld) etc...
Honestly if they just did animated clone wars style for everything I would probably prefer that. Besides Mando Season 1 and 2, everything else was average save for a few small things.
I just like watching Alex in these videos. Find it a bit weird we are getting Grievous, Thrawn, Darth Vader and the Inquisitors.
Hey Joe I just wanted to say I love your shirt where did you get it?
You boys going to review the bad batch? Would love to hear what you guys think. Really enjoyed y’all’s take on season 1 though I don’t blame yall for not doing season 2
*Why is always the same circle of characters getting spin-offs* ? the galaxy feels small as hell when it’s under Filoni.
Because Filoni only cares about exploring his catalog of characters he’s brought to the screen. But even then he’s been fcking up on that with his latest projects.
Because it’s dead. They are incompetent so they have nowhere to go. This is just the circling around the drain.
@@ThisGameizBrokn lol ya, dude is such a hack that he can't even do his own pet characters properly.
@@voidox You really gonna argue what's right for HIS characters? Fool.
@@TheDarkPorkins yes, that's how opinions and critique works. Welcome to the real world
If they are showing so many inquisitors then I hope we get a glimpse of the Second Sister. Fallen Order/Survivor is the one property they haven't looped back into as far as I can tell.
I wish they'd just commit to some longer animated series. They can show off force abilities and combat so much better through animation and get really good stories out.
But Disney is just doing the bare minimum
"May the 4th be with you" and "Revenge of the 5th"
Why do they use lightsabers still it’s not like they seem to kill anything anymore heck even in the games all they do is lightly burn stormtroopers armour these days
Because in Universe they don't know that and that rule only applies to main characters or people with plot armor and even then Qui-Gon still survived quite a long time even though he was stabbed Oregon should be melted he shouldn't be alive to tell Obi-Wan something and then die conveniently.
I wonder if you've heard about the 40k vs star wars series It's fun to see their Galaxy fight the Imperium
I like how bad batch is pretty much the same, but for the sequels, it prepares the clone palapatine, it setup ups his return and why the empire had no information on the project
This looks cool. So that was Barris as the inquisitor from Rebels? I don't know if it was confirmed but it was speculated.
The characters these arcs will center around are not Empire characters..
But...they are? lol They become a part of the Empire. And it wont necessarily be JUST about them. You will see The Empire at work in these episodes.
Being an inquisitor and the apprentice of Darth later. Given to him by palpatine Is as empire as you can get Being recruited by ron by impressing him with your capabilities is empire
If the Inquisitors aren't part of the Empire why are they under Vader's command?
Watching movie with AJ might be so annoying cuz he doesn’t stfu 😂

brainwashing society into thinking all of this should be normal. And they succeeded many do think that
I am more excited to see Barris and what happens to her less so on the nightsister character. Like we have Asajji already and the nightsister from the games.
I would really like to see Ahsoka have a final confrontation between Barriss Offee and Ahsoka, where Ahsoka either kills her or gives her a chance at redemption.
I think Dave Filoni excels in crafting these intertwined animated stories that flesh out what's missing in the mainline, so I'm super excited to see more Clone Wars continuations!

Dude this is exactly what i was waiting for to get back into Star Wars.

What do you get when you take a giant pile of garbage & add heat?
Critical drinker?
Luminara Unduli was just not really into battle as much as her Padawan Barriss Offee, even though she was good at it. Battle & fighting is what turned her to the Dark Side, because of her lust to use her power & go against orders.
What doesn't make sense is the fact that they had The Inquisitors in this. They weren't sent up until after Order 66...
You like comics, read the "Star Wars: Age of Republic: Villains" It's got Cad Bane, Kid Boba Fett learning from Jango, Darth Maul & Grievous killing people in secret & destroying Jedi Temples, Dooku getting into all kinds of stuff, Jedi being captured & auctioned off to people, Jedi that went under cover & tried to assassinate Dooku & Grevious doing crazy things like becoming part of the Red Guard...
I really hope Darth Vader's apprentice Galen Marek (Starkiller) makes an appearance.
Hahaha as if Disney would do something cool.
Emperor Palpatine was literally back even in legends,
way before Disney bought it.
It would have been an interesting twist if Barriss was the inquisitor that showed up at the end of Tales of the Jedi with Ahsoka.
Barriss somehow didn't die in order 66 but okay sure. However Jason Isaac's is returning as GI is absolutely fantastic! Morgan watching the genocide from Grievous is amazing and Thrawn too! However if their is NO interaction between Vader bringing up Ahsoka to Barriss I will be upset
To be fair she was in super-jail. Probably isolated. As long as there isn't a clone within eyesight to shoot her it isn't too far a leap.
The Inquisitors showed up pretty quickly after the fall of the republic and they like to recruit from jedi as seen in Rebels and Fallen Order. It honestly makes sense to me that they decided to pick up this pre-packaged dark Jedi.
It's also a delightful fuck you from the Emperor to Vader. "Here take this girl who drove away your apprentice and started your downward spiral. Train her."
Should have been a series about the 501st under the Empire. How cool would that have been (if it was written well ofcourse)
Vice Admiral Yawn
disney has put live action star wars to the flame but their animated stuff has been really good
Joe, the Empire didn't order Darhomir destroyed, to the public it was Dooku and the Separists. Separatists lost, and the Republic turned into the Empire. So to Elsbeth, the Empire just seems like the path to take. But it would be interesting to really see her thought process.
Joe will you do a review or vlog on the newest bad batch season?
Barrus to be a dark mirror of Ahsoka
my primary complaint is the name is wrong.
It should be tales of the inquisitors.
Tales of the Empire assumes its about the Imperial officers and soldiers of the Empire.
Why people are still getting excited with Disney's SW is beyond my comprehension.
Barriss live action would be great if they bring back the same actress from the Prequel Trilogy.
Tales of the Empire, and do we get Tarkin? Krennic? Boba Fett going on his first mission for Vader? Han Solo and the event that got him expelled from the Imperial Academy? Maybe introduce Mara Jade to the new canon? Nope. Here, have these two random chicks you couldn't possibly give a shit about.
That Jedi lady was a very popular character in the Clone Wars and Morgan Elizabeth is a pretty interesting character who does need a lot more context for why she joined the empire.
@@Automaton2337Clone Wars did Barriss dirty. She was, originally, about Anakin's age and had an end, being a Jedi Healer gunned down duribg Order 66.
TCW aged her down to be Ahsoka's bestie and had her go darkside.
Also, imho, a Tales of the Empire shoulda bern about more "average" characters. Maybe an ISD captain, his crew, fighter pilots and a squad of Stormtroopers.
I love it, I love the commentary on John Boyega‘s role, good stuff
Even though we kind of have too many people with Force powers now......the only way I would want to see Finn/Boyega back is if they flesh out that her potentially has Force Sensitive abilities himself.
Hell, do a 'fake out' the other way, and THIS time have the next movie (or even Trilogy) be about Finn coming into his powers and place in the Galaxy (Light or Dark Side, I don't care, as long as the story is good).
Oj really should take time to watch clone wars.. or AJ and Alex can at least give him a List of "Episodes to watch" Because you don't really have to watch ALL of it.. but it helps :D
Dont really care about Morgan's backstory. Rather see someone more interesting like Ventress.
The clone wars stuff has always been interesting in my opinion
Ventress didn’t die in that book, Quinlin Voss did……
Ps: it was an awesome book, read it…..
Why Angry Joe never reviewed The bad batch?
This is just going to confirm that Bariss is the Seventh Sister, who Vader kills in Rebels

The Acolyte is about a sith infiltrating the Jedi Order in the High Republic era
I can't believe helldivers 2 never got an angry review...
I'd expect tales of the "Empire" to be about actual Imperial troops and not the completely-ineffective Inquisitors.
The grand Inquisitor and especially Trisha had their moments. God- Trisha is a cheater beyond all belief.
As to Other Joe's somewhat valid complaints about Thrawn, yeah in Ahsoka he's having the Witches do everything for him. But he IS a commander, not a fighter. In Rebels, I do also think that the "yes I'm losing the battle but going to win the war" approach to everything got old because we know he probably will lose in the end, even if he does get victories. So I too hate the losing was part of my plan aspect they gave Thrawn.
That being said, Thrawn usually wins in strategy, but ends up getting thwarted by unexpected Jedi bs lol although he wins in S3 finale, the Rebels get away because of Bendu chaos thanks to Kanan. And season 4 Ezra force friendship with the space whales lol so him using the Witches makes sense and evens the odds to fight against Force users.
Thrawn was intimidating in Rebels because he was in his element. In Ahsoka, well we didn't get to see him use his "power" much because well there is no more Empire, he's in a waste land with very little people to actually go up against. But he did win, he got away, and brought Witches back to the main galaxy. I do hope we get to see him in full glory once he's back in his element, but it's not exactly the same as before when the Empire is in power, so idk. It might still feel the same as in Ahsoka.
