Under federal law in the USA, it is illegal to sell a product at a discounted price if the “original price was not offered to the public on a regular basis for a reasonably sustained period of time”. So yes, it is illegal and they'll never be held accountable because no business EVER is sadly.
Fallout 76 actually did the same thing and got class action handed to them, so they removed it. Could happen to suicide squad, too, but I doubt anyone cares enough about this game to make such an effort.

In Arkham Knight, there was the whole plot of the "Joker Infection", the mutated blood that slowly turned people into copies of the Joker (in Arkham City, the Joker distributed his blood to multiple blood banks and hospitals), they could have brought him back as in "though Batman gave us the cure, this one couldn't be treated in time because they went into hiding or Brainiac invaded before we could treat him so he went full Joker", but nope, they went for the lazy "it's Joker, but from another dimension"

This joker "DLC" is proof we've reached a point where game devs don't even try hide the pay-to-win mechanics anymore. The "reset you to zero to grind back to lvl 35 or pay 10 bucks" couldn't be more on the nose if it tried.

At this point... NEW Rocksteady is picking their characters since they gotta fit with the guns gear mechanics (Borderlands, Destiny... and Anthem):
*Character has to shoot gun.
*Be quirky.
*Be a popular character from a DC comics movie/show/game.
*And be mostly from the Batman mythos.

This game, in my universe, is ultimately dismissed from being canon. Batman Origins is more canonically received than SSKTJL.
NO!!!!!! Kevin conroy loved Batman. It was his main role that he related to with hiding behind a mask and being a symbol of hope to others. So no, he definitely didn’t want Batman to go out this away it goes completely against what he loves about Batman. It’s more likely given the leaks, Kevin knew more about how the “story” was Going to go in future seasons. Also again he mostly likely felt entitled to return as Arkham Batman. They practically needed him because he was Arkham Batman. Also because it gave him the opportunity to basically be evil Batman which isn’t something he has gotten before.
Remember when the Arkham series concluded and we all were looking forward to Rocksteady doing a Superman game because that seemed like their obvious next step...
They wanted to do either Superman or Batman Beyond but WB forced them, a single player gaming studio, to make a online multiplayer live service game.
It had zero chance from the start, apparently the WB was the only ones that didn't know this.

A Superman game is pretty much impossible, how can you develop flight mechanics in a open world city and, on top of that, a sense of danger towards a godlike character? The Superman rumors never convinced me tbh. I either expected more Batman, maybe "Arkham Beyond" featuring high tech Batman... maybe another DC character based on gadgets like Green Arrow... but here we are

It is actually illegal to start a "discount sale" on something the first day it's released. I can't remember exactly what it was but a couple years ago there was another company that got in trouble legally for doing the same exact thing and had to pay up money from a lawsuit. But I'm sure Rocksteady has some sort of way around it. EDIT: I just saw Luke Stephens' video on this, it was Fallout 76 that did the whole fake discount thing and Bethesda got into some legal trouble. I think rocksteady is gonna have some bad times ahead of they don't fix that

This game is a disgusting tedious depressing grind with nothing rewarding from it and no genuine new content!! It's all just colours are different.
Man this was probably the biggest disappointment in gaming for me in a minute. Fucking sucks
15 minutes per mission, 1520 missions to complete the pass. 60 mins per hour. 380 hours to complete the pass. 15.6 *DAYS* of continuous gameplay. 3 missions in practical terms. 5.2 days spent on each mission.
This means you need about 16 missions per day, meaning you need to devote 4 hours of your life every day for over three months just to unlock all the recolors without giving them more money.

And I'm sure the season is something like 2-3 months long, so you best get to grinding. Don't wanna miss this before the next season rolls around and you'll have to start all over.
Remember when the developers said that they knew people hated spending several hours a day grinding a game just to get one or two things or miss out completely because people have lives outside of gaming? And how they said this game wasn't gonna be like that? Turns out that was bullshit.

@@isushi Even better than that. Next characters (according to stuff I've seen) are Victoria Fries (Mrs Freeze), Zoe Lawton (Lawless), and Deathstroke. All Batman villains or at least alt versions of normal Batman villains. Rumors say Katana and Killer Croc might come after that but even then Croc would most likely just be King Shark but slightly different in terms of playstyle. Rocksteady screwed this game up in an honestly spectacular fashion.

What they are doing is ILLEGAL… it is called deceptive pricing. They cannot increase the price of the emote from the original price to only then reduce the amount to show the public that “it’s on sale” when in fact there is no price change from the original amount. I’m shocked. Never wouldve thought that the company that made some of my favorite games would do something like this. This is clearly deceptive pricing/false advertising.

This game has a 24 hour player peak of just 213, while Arkham Knight has a 24 hour peak of 1,956. That is just insane.

I know you can get bonus XP, but estimating even at 10 minutes per mission with 50xp per mission you’re looking at 250+ hours to max. With 20% bonus xp it’s still 200+ hours…
but you get 1520 missions…. WITH NEW BALLOONS 🎈 🎉

No season passes, no battle passes, no premium currency, no "surprise mechanics" (aka loot boxes), no grinding for 40 hours just to play as Darth Vader in a Star Wars game, no $18 for blue, no strings attached, just purchase a game and you can enjoy it and unlock everything the game has to offer FOR FREE..... good old days😔

Well then what “content” is coming in the second Episode of the Season? I mean, if Rocksteady is splitting these post-launch Seasons into two “Episodes” each, then shouldn’t that mean that only about 50% of the Season’s “content” has been released? Otherwise, what’s the point of splitting up the Seasons in the first place? Is it just an excuse to have two Brainiacs per Season? Are ALL these Seasons just gonna have one playable character you have to grind to unlock, some more generic weapons and skills, some dumb and repetitive costumes, two lazy Brainiac boss fights, a boring new location to jump around in, some more annoying dialogue, one cutscene (or maybe two if you’re lucky), and no new story missions or any new variety in enemy and level types? I can’t believe Rocksteady of all companies is setting a new low for what the bare minimum should be for seasonal expansions.
So the new Strongholds were just the old ones with a shitty face lift? Holy fucking shit, this might just be a new low for scummy business practices in Video Games. I never thought I would look at Avengers with fonder memories. Y I K E S

No, no, but you see, Harley had a bunch of offscreen character development between games that means you couldn't write any actually intersting interactions with a character who was basically the core drive of her story. Some people might say that is an incredibly uncreative and boring way to look characters, but according to the defends that's just an example of how good the writing is!

the absolute kicker was that all those wepons and buids being grinded for base game are now pointless as it sounds like they made only poison viable
They dont reset you level to 0. the levels you earned playing season 0 or "Finite Levels" are still there and playable while still having a new set of levels and masteries attached to the season 1 "Fear". Ive seen people complain about previous build not working with the current season but i think its a fun mechanic with the "Meta Busters" which stop you from using items and builds that previously worked and force you to try out new build with the new items that the season introduced (though i think a stash would be helpful as items are becoming cumbersome). This is only Episode 1 of Season 1 with 3 more Episodes coming with new characters and new items presumably coming as well.

I played the first “story mission” and just uninstalled the game as soon as I understood what this was all gana be and immediately went to other streams to see if the other defenders were done like me safe to say we all thought the same thing
You know the more I see this the more I realize that old kids games like wacky races, Disney infinity and crash bandicoot are more creative then this game.
Ps the Lego game is more faithful to the source material then this.
Hell we don't have to go that back, Fortnite's Seasons, as much as i'm not a fan of the genre, are and have been pretty damn solid always brining in new content, weapons, skins, new stuff to do, new maps etc. Roblox has also been killing it for a while too. I think the reason why games aimed more at younger kids have so much quality content that comes out on a consistent base is because kids generally have low attention spans and need to be stimulated way more than adults or even teenagers need to be. The devs making games aimed at this young crowd are very aware of this and they know that in order to maintain a playerbase they need to pump out content not just consistently but that content needs to be quality too. Kids are not adults, the concept of a sunk cost fallacy where one plays a thing they hate because they bought it already does not exist in a child's brain . If a kid doesn't liike something they throw it away immediately

Dude! I bought HD2 for 40 eurs and i did not have to spend anything else on it. I have everything unlocked with playing around 2 hours per day since launch and have 1000 supercredits to spare when they drop the new stuf. Aaaand still play it because it is fun.

Wow I can't wait for season 13 so I can grind the same missions I've been farming since launch for 5 hours to unlock some multiverse version of a DC villain but much worse so that I can then grind the same content but with the new playable charecter.
I grinded for the Joker, then after I unlocked him i just needed to take a break. It should not take 8 HOURS to unlock a character in a game, i have to admit the scarecrow guns are really cool but after you unlock thr joker, whats there to really do? I still have to do riddler quests but that's about it, maybe trying to get the platinum

Going from Paul Dini’s excellent writing in the Arkham series to this crap is crazy. Any game in today’s gaming that is online only or requires internet to even play single player, I don’t buy it. I gave my money to Final Fantasy Rebirth and it was a masterpiece. I only buy multiplayer games with a legit single player mode. Nowadays it’s either one or the other which is heart breaking cause back in the day games had both single player and multiplayer now a game is either multiplayer only or single player only and if I had to choose I’ll go single player only every time.
I'm honestly more interested in a walk-through of how to cook salmon in your dish washer, than i am in this game.
