I think Joe is missing the point of the channels calling out the “wokeness”.
The problem isn’t that there are too many women or DEI hires.
It’s that Disney makes the writing and the interesting things about the character, revolves around the fact that they are a woman or DEI hire.

The guy in the movie that said that, was stupid wrong to all viewers. Here is the thing. The Jedi are not the only force users in the galaxy. There are also failed jedi, dark jedi, witches and other cults, and a red lightsaber dont make you Sith. First and foremost, the Sith has special knowledge of the Force, they also have ambitions and hate the jedi. Picking up a red lightsaber is not enough.
@Wilfer88 the red saber does make you a sith cuz you need the bleeding efect that comes from the dark side...there are no red cristals. Unles that saber was stollen from someone...the cristal doesn't stay red anyway like in the games. It goes white. So yeah..thats a sith...or loke i said someone gave it to the force user...a true sith.

So in a way, if the dude said "There hasn't been a Sith in 1000 years", he...could've been right. In a way. I watched the Obi Wan show for curiosity after the reviews and couldn't stop laughing at how bad it was!

he has to hate them or his audience will attack him.... his twitter posts are a sight to behold... joe is likely referring to his beef with shadaversity youtube channel. they had a beef on twitter, they made a video about joe, joe I think made one gaslightning and strawmaning the fuck out of them. so shad and co made an hour long video or something crazy going beat for beat, point for point joe tried to make, tore it apart and cited their sources and used evidence to back up their claims and joe's response basically was TLDR. then started to be a hypocrite about "click baity and over exaggerated" thumbnails.... which they pointed out jor has done his entire youtube career with his thumbnails even more so when he was anger over something.

On the girl-boss topic every time we get presented with a Rey Skywalker type of female character they have a chance to actually give us a well written, logical character, but time and time again, we get a superficial girl-boss that is superior to everyone around her and the heroes journey involves the main character not learning shit, but rather everyone else learning just how much they underestimated her. Boring. Galadriel from rings of power is a great example, the Galadriel from the movie is literally one of my favorite characters from lord of the rings, yet in rings of power she gets girl-bossified.
I could care less if a female is in the leading role and she is strong, look at Ripley from Alien/Aliens. Favorite character from that franchise, great journey with strong character writing behind her. Do I hate women? Or is any of this getting through?

Having a red lightsaber and using the darkside doesn't automatically make you a sith, dawg. It just means that you've used the darkside to bleed your saber's kyber crystal. These are just darkside users were seeing in the trailer. Hence the name, Acolyte.
Asaaj Ventress, The Inquisitors, Dagan Gera, and Savage Opress. All used red sabers, and none of them were sith. It's the same for Jedi, you aren't a Jedi just because you use the lightside.

We understand the concept of a Jedi turned to the dark side etc. They may not be Sith but they are Sith adjacent, or Sith acolytes or whatever else. Two twins live in a village. Jedi come and find them, the jedi sense that one of the twins has the force. The jedi take the child in exchange for protecting the village when needed. The village is attacked and the jedi aren’t there to help. Village is destroyed and the other twin who was left grows a hatred for the jedi and becomes an acolyte. The story will likely follow the acolyte twin meeting her jedi twin.
That’s a great pigeonholing writing mistake for the writers to put themselves in right off the bat.
Why in an era full of Jedi do they need to strike deals like this to take on force sensitive children? Normally the Jedi seekers either get a yes or no and leave it at that, no strings attached.

Shogun is slated for 10 episodes & Episode 5 dropped last night so how about you & the boys binge watch & do a review of the first 5 episodes currently available on Hulu. Next, wait until the last 5 episodes are all uploaded, binge watch those & do a second video review of said last 5 episodes as well as give an overall score for the entire miniseries✌️

When I heard that Hulu was remaking Shogun with the one & only Hiroyuki Sanada taking on the role originated by the legendary Mr Mifune, all I could think about was that I wanted to see this remake ASAP & thus far it has not disappointed at all. Top 10 TV Program of 2024 caliber👍

Would’ve been cooler if most of the cast wasn’t human, and most were actually other worldly. I get it, it’s too expensive and Disneys lazy, but it’d be cool if they realized that things not of our world are also “diverse” and leaned into it more.
Really want a new trilogy 1000 years into the future in a completely new part of the galaxy, new set of characters, and a main character who’s an alien or cyborg. Disney has so much at their disposal creatively, and they’re just wasting it.
This has honestly been one of my chief criticisms of Disney SW, there are no fucking aliens anywhere. Why isn't Rey an alien? Why isn't Poe? Why aren't any of the new main characters? We've got Grogu and that's it. Not even any new droids beside BB8. They've made five movies and like half a dozen shows.

I absolutely hate that Disney seems to have zero respect for the existing lore and history in the universe. What is the point about giving a shit about anything Disney Star Wars puts out when anything anyone says or done can be completed retconned at any moment.

for the whole "diversity being bad" part - imagine a director made 1 pretty good movie, and 19 really bad movies, they are poorly written, soulless, and ruin any series they are attached to. Then you learn this same director is making a Star Wars movie (or a movie connected to another property you really enjoy), would you be excited or preemptively disappointed, maybe even angry? That really not too far from how people feel when it comes to "diversity" in media - OF COURSE diversity is great! But modern writing and tropes ruin it - non-white people can't be bad, women have to be perfect, and of course the villain has to be some old white guy who hates women. There is an ACTUAL saying in Hollywood going around "Male and pale is stale" which is just racist, sexist and absolutely a toxic mindset - this shouldn't be how anyone feels about any gender or race, yet executives have admitted multiple times that it's okay to hate white people, "you can't be racist towards white people, they aren't minorities" (despite that isn't how racism works, and depending on how you use the word "minority" as for example, Chinese are a minority in America, but have one of the largest populations in the world)
To further explain - if you saw an actor in hundreds of movies and they always do a bad job, you'd think they are a terrible actor right? I mean, it makes sense - but what if they make their own movie and you find out they are actually phenomenal? That all those other terrible roles were because of bad direction or writing or only using a first take? Odds you might not think of that first - I mean, an actor doing this bad across so many movies has to be the fault of the actor right? Well that's how people feel about diversity in media - again, IT'S A GENUINELY GOOD MESSAGE, but it's constantly being used by terrible writers, companies that rush development, racists who preach diversity (for anyone who isn't white), and so forth. It's entirely possible to make a good story focused on LGBT+ or on other races, it's been done for decades! The difference is a shift in modern industries
Anyway, point is, I get the sentiment of people saying "diversity is bad" though do agree they are misguided - ultimately I blame executives and the creators behind these projects for hiding behind a genuinely good message to sate their own greed, racism and prejudice ideals
Diversity itself isn't bad or good. Characters should just be characters that are well created and fit the setting.

But "Diversity" in the sense of Disney, which means removing white characters from the franchises they made, is hugely racist and is a huge problem.

Funny, I follow a sport where a team's CEO by all accounts harassed his female assistant. The team performed an "independent investigation" and found no wrongdoing on the CEO's part.
