    • @axoltl1
      @axoltl1 Před 2 lety

      Yes you can use any dal. There is no such thing as 'high protein dal', any dal which you eat sufficient quantity of will give you a good amount of protein. 100g of a raw dal contains 26g of protein. So if you cook 100g of any raw dal that dish will contain 26g of protein total from lentils.

    Sir i guess by cooking the dalls the nutrition values decrease for example if we boil 100 g of moong dal then the proteins decrease from 25g to 9.8g... Is this statement wrong or right please advise 🙏

    • @rajpranjal8861
      @rajpranjal8861 Před 2 lety

      The protein does not decrease, the mass of individual lentil kernels increase, they absorb water and become bigger and thus lesser number of kernels form 100g compared to when they were raw. If you cook 100g of raw lentils and they become 400g after cooking, then that 400g still has 25g of protein.

    • @CookitOut

      Nope - masoor dal/ moong dal can be made like this straightaway. Chana daal would require longer time/boiling.

    • @axoltl1
      @axoltl1 Před 2 lety

      Yes, the entire pot is 507 kcal, 30g protein. It's actually quite a calorie-and-mass inefficient way to get your protein, but vegetarians and vegans have few choices.
