Is it wrong to say that the old guy who pretended to be a doctor was one of the best candidates for House's team???
A lot of the candidates for the 3-4 jobs that season were great characters. Cole (the Black Mormon) was a cool character too, as was Amber. The one who worked overseas in Doctors without borders was the least interesting of the ones still in this scene, but even then he was a pretty interesting case study (He was basically a psychopathic version of Cameron)
NO YOU NOT WRONG
I hate that guy
4:41 that subtle middle finger to taub. That old doctor was like house but unqualified
He was brilliant, but lacked a medical license so House couldn't hire him... on the other hand he had a janitor in his team when Cameron, Chase and Foreman resigned, so...
Okay, this is a science fiction show. Eight doctors working on a patient? In real life, you are lucky if you get a nurse and a doctor in the same room working with a patient.
May be far fetched, but the whole premise of the show is that they are a super team of doctors whose job is to diagnose diseases no one else could.
I live in South Africa & this is common even in public hospitals.
I think its because its a diagnostic team. House is a diagnostician that has a concentration in tropical disease. He only gets really weird, tough cases. So I think thats why he gets a team of drs to help him find the correct diagnosis.
@@alexpirela4763 I take it most of you are just watching these clips but never watched the show. Most of the season of House this episode is from revolves around an elaborate elimination test House is doing to find new doctors for his diagnostic team. There's 40 candidates, 3 places.
And in any case, in most hospitals unusual cases do sometimes call for ad-hoc teams of specialists and clinicians to collaborate on finding the problem(s). The only real difference for House's team is that its a permanent team/department.
You're an idiot. (as house would say)
A) not at all uncommon to see multiple nurses and sometimes even multiple docs in a room of someone actually in risk. Just because you're an idiot who goes to the ED when you have a runny nose doesn't mean that's how they treat everyone.
2) this show takes place in a teaching hospital with all these doctors technically being fellowship students to house. It's not uncommon to see a teaching doc with a half a dozen or more fellows following them around depending on the teaching hospital, and the specialty.
Just ask her to specifically point to where her mother is then proceed to sit on her mother. Easy.
Edit: It's a joke, lighten up everyone!
My thoughts exactly
I also thought that
But... what if she's not sitting down?
Dun Dun DUUUUNNNNNN
The imaginary mother would then just get up and stand beside as he is about to sit as hallucinations are our own brain's creation.
i would toss something to/at her.
a lot of people seem to miss an important point by House: when probing for something, play along once you've found it. Do not disturb the sample or the environment, until you've come up with a solution.
Same thing with insurance scams caught on dash cams; Don't tell the scammer you've got evidence until you're in the court room
@@dwagincon4841 That's not how court cases work.
@@blusafe1 Depends on where you are. In fact, recently a case against Swedish citizens having comitted a crime in Denmark tried a Swedish tactic of waiting for evidence to be provided before providing a story. And failed to realize that the prosecutor wasn't required to provide all evidence prior to court. But in this case I think he means, don't yell it out your car window. Let them find out once other people are involved.
@@dwagincon4841 I think in most cases them being recorded might be considered illegal because they did not give consent to being recorded although i think there are ways around this. just curious
@@thatssomehoopla "Almost" all recordings are legal. Only when the recording violates an expectation of privacy does it become illegal.

That old dude flipped the bird at Taub at around the five minute mark. I wish he stuck around longer, he was good.
Yes, he did. Good catch.
I've never seen the show--just clips here on CZcams--but my guess is he's too much like House. Two brilliant, insightful curmudgeons on one would be one too many.
ssppeellll nah mate, he couldn’t hire him because he technically never completed a medical degree.
He was a weapon at the job but didn’t have the right piece of paper
T Benno,
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!
T Benno
What isn’t sspellll exactly right?
“You know why I can’t hire you”
“I’m too much like you”
Something like that. House would have gone out of his way for a weapon on his team. I mean he got a suicidal patient who ruined her liver from an overdose a new liver. He lied to an entire medical commitee

Come to think about it, it would have been mind blowing if Wilson turned out to be just a hallucination all along, but was revealed at the very end.
Other characters interacted with him.
So no, that would've been dumb.
@@Lun4812 I think he means if they had written it such that nobody else interacted with him throughout the series. I think it would've been cool. But it's the longest of long cons!
That would have been so fucking sad, House's only friend not being real. Also he knew Wilson even before he started taking drugs daily, before he got the leg problem.
@@shydreameress264 To be fair, there's a reverse of this theory (spoilers ahead for the ending of the show)
When Wilson gets the text and meets up with House again to spend the rest of his life with him, there's a popular theory that went around that said he was actually hallucinating him. House really DID die in that fire, and Wilson spent the last 5 months just spending time with what was essentially a ghost.
Some examples that helped the theory is that no one really reacted to his text messages going off at the funeral, House was without his famous cane, etc. You can look it up, it's a pretty fun theory.
Yes! That's what I thought the first few episodes.
I loved the old man doctor~ I’m sad he didn’t get to stay on the show.
Yeah, I sadly stopped watching house after season 2, when I am sure the old man wasnt there, but watching this clip, it was nice to see somebody close to Houses level rather than every single person around him being called an idiot. I love house but that formula gets a bit old if you cant mix it up with somebody that can work with him to some degree so it isnt constant conflict. At least in this episode anyway, though they still had him making everybody around him nervous.
But one thing I did love about the series is how non-PC it was. He just said whatever was on his mind lol
He wasn't a doctor.
What was he?
@@waltermh111 janitor in med school if i remember correctly
I think he was a bit too big of a name to keep him on long term.
6:02 Wilson's confused reactions are always priceless xD
And the way he just walked in straight up sat down and lie down on the couch Lmao 😂
Best one for me was when House was jailed for that night after not being guilty during Tritter case.
Wilson was so confused seeing House taking Vicoding with words ‘Nothings CHANGED?’

@@edoyle2300 well thanks for the info, tho now that I've looked it up that's not the reason as to why he was fired..
@@carboncompounds9377 yeah the real reason was that he thinks "too much" like house. House needs someone to bounce off ideas with, not be told what he is thinking.

But thanks for posting anyway. I loved it!

Straight savage. Love it.
"I'll try to include some visual aids next time" as he gives Taub the finger walking by. Classic
ummmm he didn't give anyone the finger he was scratching his nose. Why would he flip him off in that context? You're not making any sense.
Yes it was a shame the writers gave old guy the flick. His personality fitted well into the show.

Especially that
Like Mike did on Friends or like Ted did on how I met your mother?
Damn she unlucky
Plot twist: It was House and the other doctors who were delusional
The old guy mentioning he'll include a visual aid next time whilst slyly sticking his middle finger up was perfect.
Absolutely brilliant writing and directing. Sometime this show's scripts are stunning.
During the writer's strike they struggled though. And in the later seasons when they tried to recapture the magic of the earlier seasons but didn't have Cuddy. Last episode had a good vision but was not well executed. It should have been a full movie feature, like the one with House in the asylum or the one where Amber died. Massive missed opportunity to finish an amazing series with an amazing ending.
"And none of you thought to ask where the mother was and walk through her?"
Foreman: House.....
House: What? She's not there, so I don't think we're gonna get sued for sexual harassment. Plus, its all cool in the hood. We're not stepping on anyone.
Cunning Smile The daughter would either see the mother move out of the way, or get shoved. Either way it wouldn’t prove to her that the mother isn’t real. And even if it did, she would still see her mother, even knowing she’s not real. So what has been accomplished?
House voice: Sigh. Someone isn't passing their test this semester. Don't worry. There's always next time.
She was allegedly sitting in a chair. I suppose you could sit in the same chair to try to break the delusion.
House: Looks like someone is earning their "good job" sticker on their homework assignment.

Fyodor48 it was once....can’t remember what season though
WestCoastAngel101 once is better than never I guess !!! Given it’s mentioned as a possible diagnosis in nearly every episode it’s only right that a patient comes in with that condition at least once 😁

Why are this patient and her "mother" talking to each other in English? It's obviously not their first language.
Great stuff though. I'll love to see the next scene!
They probably "came" to the US at the same time.
Maybe the 'mother' isn't speaking in English to her but WE as the audience only hears it in English for the sake of the episode.
Because duhmericans can't read subtitles.
Because they are trying to speak to each other in a language the doctors will understand.
