I don’t know why, but whenever I look at him I think “Nink” [as in night ink, (unoriginal, I know)] It just sounds so cute and mysterious, exactly what he looks like. Also, he’s STUNNING! I love these creature designs! They really make my day 😄❤️

What about a name like The Nink of the Night
For some reason I wanna name it a long-toed Guiox(gui and fox mixed together or Nocte Volat (which means flying night)
I think you should call it a Nero Noctilian (Nero: black, Noctilian: Nocturnal + Reptile but as reptilian)

A Gargolyn Bat!
Makes me think that it might sit in trees at night waiting for prey, almost like a gargoyle, and the ears make me think that it would function like a bat
It look so cute. I imagine its a nocturnal creature flying and climbing mountains, trees for fruits. Maybe it can have like scary name given by the people to tell bed time stories to their kid. Despite that its just a cute misconcept creature people have due to its rare sightings and scary sound it makes. Whispering grim.
one of the official inktober prompts is 'legend' ! so it fits perfectly making the inktober creature a legendary card !! i don't have any cool names, but i see others' suggestions are awesome so far cx
I LOVE! it reminds me of a night Guardian type thing or a guardian of the shadows I can imagine it painting shadows with its tail to protect creatures during the night blending in and moving swiftly through the night!
For a name, how about a Deep Forest Púca? Púcas are mischievous spirits and I think this little one is just that!
Three clawed night thief just won't get out of my head. Just a side note, fossil evidence of the Microraptor has shown that its feathers were likely black with iridescence. Pretty cool that you made it shiny black without knowing that!
This creature would be a perfect familiar for a witch! Maybe something like an *Ink-Quilled Amaroc*
First of all, that Complete ink drawing is absolutely gorgeous, I love it even better then the finished product (which is also beautiful as always) and I have a few name suggestions that might interest you.
*Orpheus* -a Greek mythological name meaning ‘the darkness of the night’
*Kamaria* -means beauty of the moon in Swahili
*Rhiannon* -a name of a Welsh goddess of the moon.
I thought all those names were interesting, cause they give of guardian/companion like vibes which I think fit your adorable creature.
I feel like this creature would live in a rainforest area and maybe he can change colour like a chameleon (so pretty much camouflage). at night they can be dark and during the day he can gain colour. Or maybe males are bright in colour and females are dull (like certain birds and stuff)
Seemed a bit Egyptian to me, like Anubis, especially the first concept sketch when you mixed the animals together for the first time. The head reminded me a lot of a bat. Amazing piece as always,, definitely gave the vibe you were looking for.
I think it looks perfect for inktober, it looks very halloween-ish!

I was thinking Crested Nightwing or Crested Nightfox. Night for obvious reasons, lol. But I can't stop thinking of crested when I see the white lines on his face.
Sloraphox : A clever and lazzy creature. Living in rain forest. Hunting smaller animals in the night with a group of three or five Sloraphoxes.

Name ideas: Midnight Ink Glider (because it has ink black feathers), the Flying Dream catcher, Gliding Raccon Fox or Nightopteryx (from Night+Archaeopteryx)

I see this creature being like the friend of banshees. Like when a banshee marks someone for death this little guy stalks them to make sure they meet their fate. Something like... Shimmering Night Stalker.
I imagine him to be a quiet flying creature. Like owls who can fly with barely making a sound. And because of the nocturnal feel of the Colors and the slow heaviness of the sloth that reminds me of deep slumber...my idea for this guy is: Morpheus‘ Whisper.
For the God of dreams as well as the sleek, wise and black leather clad Lawrence Fishbourne in The Matrix.
clawed ghost light, cuz of the glowy looking eyes and shiny feathers/fur. he looks cute but leads you into the woods or something with his hypnotizing glowing reflections and eyes

micro raptor that kind of dinosaur you used to creat this cutie is beloved to have not flown but glad from tall trees. foxes hunt at night with their ears and sloths spend the majority of their time up in the trees.

I can definitely picture it swooping down and gliding between trees after insects.

The Karto-Raptors were from a Deep Dark Dimension where they found the last functioning portal to earth and fed off animals. using their razor sharp claws their fox like legs their raptoral wings and lay but not least their intellect they waited and hunted

There are a few gods of darkness who could lend their name as part of something longer. Araphel was a Canaanite god of divine darkness, while Erebus was the Greek god of primordial darkness. The Three-toed Erebus for example?

Hey Nina! I love your Creature Designs, it's just very fascinating how you piece the animals together. Though I'm pretty sure, the face of the baby sloth you're using as reference is actually a *two clawed sloth*. Those are less tired looking than the three clawed sloths. Maybe. I'm not a zooologist. xD

Name should have “dreamstalker” in it since it’s a legendary. Like it lives in the shadows which is why it appears to never have color
Have you ever heard of an enfield? It was a heraldic beast and you drew one. I dub this guy the Obsidian Pocket Enfield.
Maybe “flying nightcrawler” beacuse it has wings and it’s a Fox too, so it kinda crawls, and the sloth comes in with crawler too, beacuse it crawls.:)
when turing it into a creature card you should make a "dark" or "night" subclass (like how Pokemon has water, grass, etc) and they could all be black and white so you could also have a break from colour every once and a while.

Nocturne Vulpes is what I would call it. Nocturne is a romantic song inspired by Night. Vulpes is the scientific name for the Fox genus.

My suggestion for a name is...
MOSHUI JINGSHEN... the spirit of ink. :)
Maybe the name should be something like: InkChiroptera. Chiroptera is the scientific words for bat. Ooo maybe this one is rare because the more common “Chiroptera” is colorful X).
But I saw a really good suggestion from * CatFromMars *. Theirs was “Ancient Mono Croth” :)

Just so you know Microraptors are actually a dinosaur species (one of the few who might have actually been able to fly)
Also I suggest the name Thanatos Alate. Thanatos is the greek god of peaceful deaths and alate means to have wings or being lifted up in flight

YES!! Microraptor is my favourite dinosaur! It looks so cute mashed together with the other two
I have a couple name ideas I just came up with in my head while watching.
1) 3 Toed Micro Fraptor (fraptor like, fox raptor hehe)
2) Micro Shale Sloptox (Sloptox is a silly combo of sloth, raptor, and fox)

The design oddly reminds me of a black hole, where it consumes all of the light. So, perhaps something like "Star Chaser"?
Or maybe "Mono Rex" (Since it is a monochrome creature and the microraptor is a prehistoric animal?)
