  • How do you combine animals to form something new? How can a creature's anatomy inform their pattern? And how can color be used to convey a sense of touchability? We'll explore these ideas and a LOT more as we invent an entirely new species, the Nightstepper. This video is a short excerpt from my course "Chimaera: A Creature Design Masterclass."

    you've really made me consider working silhouettes more into my design process, i never really considered it but more recently i've come to understand how important it is to the design and these videos really give me a feel for how i can actually incorporate into my process.
    Also as a note i would adore a little night stepper charm, as far as creature design goes these guys are right up my alley!!
    And a question, maybe you can answer in a future videos. How would you go about designing something, a creature or building ect, to invoke unease and wrongness?

    • @JonahLobeDraws
      @JonahLobeDraws  Před 4 lety +4

      Thumbnails are sometimes rather annoying to turn out, but they're meant to elicit our creativity and make us stretch our minds. Force yourself to do like 5-10 for each creature you want to design, I guarantee you'll think of some cool unexpected ideas that will really feed back into your work.
      The next video I post will touch on exactly that subject of unease and wrongness. Stay tuned, I'll release it this week!
      And have you seen the Nightstepper charms on Twitter?? I just got them made, I'm obsessed with them and I can't wait to make more to sell.
