- Another day in May and yet another mermaid! This time inspired by forgotten gods and tapestries.

theres a mesopotamian sea goddess called tiamat who's also the dragon goddess and i'm pretty sure the goddess of fertility too

I think she's named 'Fern'
Because she looks so gracious, gentle, curious and soft like a fern. Also Fertility related to ferns as they MASS produce. She also looks beautiful and spiritual. 💕💕

@@DinaNorlund Ooh that's okay I also liked the name Dragon, Butterfly and reef as she is named after a dragon fish thing, butterfly as shes just that DAZZLING or reef as shes a mermaid but that's okay thanks 😂 or maybe Moss, Sea-Petal, petal or Neptune as they just seem to fit her. Also will you be continuing your series of nettle and the hushushs? (I also always comment on your random creature videos)

Kereska (or some variation of that name like Kere or Reska etc) taken from dnd she's one of the Dragonborn's forgotten relms deities. She's the Goddess of dragon magic and magical creativity which seamed appropriate seeing as she's a leafy seadragon (hence the dragonborn race) and she's art piece by you so creativity 😂 the forgotten relms deity aspect ties in to forgotten gods theme nicely too. 😂😅
woah, i cannot believe how cool this looks. I would never have thought a colored pencil would look so natural for line art, but goes along perfectly with the theme of the painting! I like the name eleaf (pronounced e - leaf). Gorgeous as always ❤️❤️❤️
Haha thank you! I love experimenting with the coloured lineart, even if the wax of the pencils sort of pushes the water? Not too badly though so it still works

While I was sketching ideas I came up with the idea of a forgotten Godess staring at a broken down underwater civilization (probably Atlantis) my favorite part was the hair and the ears! I don’t usually do backgrounds so this was a new thing for me. Loved the video Dina! It was so beautiful I stared at it so much! 😂How do you do it? i was drawing a sea-themed dragon
a good name for her might be equelie ( eck-you-lee). the last part of the leafy sea dragon is eques, so eque, then add something that goes with it, lee, and twist pronunciation. ( thats my naming process for most things)

Female sea horses lay eggs into the males pouch where the male seals them into his womb, fertilizes and gestates them until they are ready to be born. After birth he gets a special lap dance from his wife which gets him pregnant all over again. (Seahorses mate for life btw) they dance with each other almost every day of pregnancy and when one mate dies the other will spend considerable time to mourn before seeking a new mate. #relationshipgoals
