The Snowy Owl features a lot in verse and images from Nightwish. Finnish mythology is varied enough that every reader of the Kalevala can find their favourite creature. Owls were a symbol of hope and good luck. It was said these creatures had infinite wisdom and an ability to perceive things others could not (thanks to their ability to navigate the dark). Owls were considered to be the center of all things magical and masters of discovery. They were aware of everything happening in the dark and could navigate worlds we couldn’t dream of as people. - Marko the devil trying to seduce Floor's mermaid - but the owl "above the dark waters" shows there was hope even at the start.

They are magic together
It's from the 2nd album, Oceanborn, in 1998. Before Floor, and even before Marko. Tarja , and guest Tapio Wilska, on vocals originally, and Sami Vanska on bass. Floor and Marko sound great singing it together. I agree, love the back and forth vocals.
They toured the USA spring 2022. They are currently recording the next album, and have said they don't plan on touring for it. Hopefully, it means that they are going out right away, and will later as speculation suggests. So, maybe late 2024 or 2025 at the earliest is my guess.

A showcase for Kai here and the Marco and Floor interaction is superb.
Marco as the Devil is trying to seduce the Mermaid to join him in his watery realm but she doesn't care for that.
The switch to the soaring dolphins section at the end is brilliant - Ocean born is the name of the album this song comes from and the Ocean is a recurring theme for Tuomas.
To be honest this never stood out to me in the original Tarja version (she couldn't do the glissandi with that emotion and Tapio could only grunt, not sing like Marco) but Floor brought it to such new levels it rose up to the top of my list.
Lyrically of course, Tuomas again is the master, but vocally both Marco and Floor excel.
Keep going - I need to recheck your playlist to see if you've done the rest of my top 5 as I don't recall, though I think I've seen all you have released.
