That particular type of accident can be particularly bad, injury-wise (even with side airbags). The collapsing door pushes and compresses the pelvis against the center console. That may add serious hip or pelvis fractures to the list of injuries.
The irony of 3:31 where the bus driver running a red light with a law firm advertisement plastered on the side hit two attorneys.

#3 is perfect example of how soooo many drivers do not have sufficient situational awareness.
In our commercial driver course it was estimated 3/4 of all drivers have at best a 3 second spatial awareness directly in front of them.
Basically means they follow the car directly in front of them and took the 3 second rule literally.
The shit I’ve seen 5 years driving a semi, I’ve gotten to the point I expect everyone near me, (within 1,00ft) to hit each other or something inanimate at any given time.
People appear practically psychotic to me in their little vehicles. I see everything.
#3 the fact that even after driver nearly strikes pedestrian, he STILL doesn’t waive to apologize or even acknowledge his mistake its simply disgusting and a show of his character. 🤢

It happened to me a little hard make me fall on the hood, but the driver female and her child was so worried on me, i was fine so i reassured her and walked away.
In situations like #3, I prefer walking behind cars to avoid such a situation. As a habit, I also look for backup lights just in case the person is in reverse. If you do need to walk across the front of a vehicle, I always do what I was taught when working around moving vehicles. Make eye contact with the driver. This is an indication you see each other. Usually, the driver will give a signal or nod for you to cross.

Same. I was hit by a car who was using a turn lane to speed past traffic. He was only doing like 20 mph (thankfully) but I still ended up with a trip to the ER and a nasty scar. To this day (this was like 4 years ago) I never cross in front of a car unless I have to and never without looking extensively
I watch a lot of drag racing vehicles. I always love those that do the Reverse Launch cause they thought R stands for race instead of reverse. It is always a laugh. And even more fun when idiots are standing behind it. I have yet to see one get run over thus far. Someday maybe.
#3, I had that happen to me once. I was in the crosswalk and the driver looking left started to go and ran into my wife and I. Not a major hit, but I now walk behind the car, no matter if there is a crosswalk or not. Getting hit by a car, even at slow speed hurts and I don't want to repeat the experience.
That's always smart. But another thing would be to make eye contact with the driver so that way the driver at least knows your there now. And if they did something there is no excuse for the drivers actions
I was coming out from a parking lot at night. Looking left because I didn't see anything around the exit. Once it was clear of cars I started to go but my girlfriend yelled to stop. Sure enough there was a guy dressed in black (by far the stupidest thing you can do at night) just started walking infront of my truck without even making sure I saw him. Pedestrian may have the right of way bjt that doesn't mean you should just walk

Can confirm... When I was 8 years old in early 1991, I slipped on ice and my bottom half ended up under the rear of a 1980 Buick stationwagon, a solid steel car. It was backing into the driveway. The back right wheel drove right over my midsection. It definitely hurt! Lol! 🤣😂 To this day though, I still don't know if that's what broke my pelvis or if it was me getting up after and walking on it until I went into shock, blacked out, and hit the ground...

Jaywalking like this, with two childern is the epitome of idiocy. The driver could have kept going, but did the right thing. You all can see how thankful she was, but that's what entitlement does!!

Please don't stop be that guy who is too nice. Not only you stopped for a car in when you had the right of way, but you also blocked a bunch of people behind you.
On top of that, this type of behavior can cause serious accidents as the driver who wants to go into the parking lot cannot see traffic in the other lane.
Exactly. If it was a single lane, sure. But with a double lane it's too risky as shown in the video. The driver(s) in the other lane have no idea what's happening.
Ngl the way they are stopped ahead of the parking lot and close to the turner makes it seem as if maybe the car turning hesitated causing them to stop.
He was avoiding an accident, not stopping to be nice.

At 1:10, whenever I see a car waiting to come out of a driveway, I always walk behind the car because you don't know where the driver is looking and also, to get out of the driver's way just in case he has an opportunity to pull out.
I still go in front lol if they hit me I get paid and get a full ride tuition 🤷🏽♂️ hehe. Sucks for them 🤷🏽♂️
Or you wait for eye contact because they can back up in a pinch too. Not worth the risk.

Even though they look slightly pointed down, they don't act like headlights - they send the light just about everywhere

Came here to say this. Nothing like mouting offroad light on the hood of your jetta and using them in traffic. They probably shine more light on the hood than anywhere on the road.

That turnaround state trooper for the dump truck was glorious, he his a menace to human life. There was no need to yield for the pedestrians, too far away for entering the parking lot.
I used to live in Eugene and know that exit well. I can see how it would be confusing, given there are two sets of lights visible. I blew threw a red from the same lane as the car turning left b/c the first light I saw was a green one just to the left of center of my vision. Eugene needs to do something about that imo.
ive driven this route many times while under the influence and have never got the set of lights confusde.

5:43 that is the luckiest thing I’ve ever seen. Not only could they have sideswiped someone, which would lead to a rollover or serious frontal crash, but they also could’ve crashed into a tree at such a high speed. It’s a miracle none of that happened!

0:40 That is so uncanny seeing this, I live within about 10 minutes of there by car. However, I'm also surprised we don't see MORE clips from Oregon, because Oregon drivers are a different breed of bad drivers.

If your steering is misaligned, braking hard can cause you to turn. The submitter told us he had previously been swerving left when braking hard, so if he hadn't gotten an alignment, he would've hit those other cars while avoiding a collision with the Impala.

You're right, but that's not what I was talking about. The submitter was thankful he'd had his steering aligned so he didn't hit the other traffic when he slammed on the brakes.
#3 happened to me and my mom years ago. The driver was looking passed us and started driving while me and my mom were walking in front of her. My mom threw me across and out the way and took the bare brunt of the hit while screaming at the lady to stop. Once the women finally snapped back to reality, she put the car in park and got out and hugged my mom crying. She didn’t see us and was zoned out. My mom hugged her back and told her to pay more attention to her surroundings and that no one got injured which is a blessing. That is a core memory of how merciful my mom is and not to trust a driver to see you.
Just the first dash cam. The camera had the reaction time of a pickle.

Oh, neat! I'd love to see a parade with camels all decked out in finery :D My grampa had a camel on his farm when I was a kid that was a retired circus performer (he had a retired racehorse sanctuary), and she absolutely loved to get "dressed up" for local parades/festivals! She would get all excited lol

The icy road crash will probably happen to my parents next week. Since I'm in canada, and its near December, it is turning -16 degrees celcius for the whole week, as well as snowing. That will be really rough because we also don't have winter tires on currently.
That accident in Eugene-I know the intersection well! The 7 11 used to be the Fantasey Motel. The rooms had themes like a Jungle room, space room and so on! Fun times the 1980s!

#3 This is why you make sure you’ve made eye contact with the driver. If you don’t, then walk behind the car. Yes, the driver is responsible for making sure their path is clear, but they don’t always do that.

#6 - That silver Impala deserves a patio paver to be flung through the windshield. The absolute stupidity of this occurrence never ceases to surprise me. You do not stop like that just so you can be nice and allow cars to turn across when they shouldn't.
7:55 this is nearly *exactly* what happened in my first "accident" as a teen! School is right next to a highway. Normal non-highway route is crowded with parents on their phones, so I'd elected to pull out on the highway instead of constantly having to defense drive to avoid accidents. Fast forward: I started to pull out but realized the oncoming traffic was too close, so I braked. Buuuut, just like this clip, girl behind me did the same thing as BMW guy, and ended up rear-ending me. Very slight dent on my tacoma's bumper, 'tis an old truck so wouldn't be surprised if there was more internal damage to the bumper itself. But hey, I was just glad we'd both been going slow, so neither of us were hurt 🤷

Just an observation here. I'm a certified safety manager for a small fleet. In the first video, it does not appear that the Corolla driver is trying to brake, it actually looks like he's accelerating towards the intersection. If he had been practicing defensive driving, that collision would not have occurred.

I don’t know what’s going on with this video. Choppy and blurry footage and weird curvature like it was out of a be headsets: but it you want a good front and rear sash can I recommend the viofo a119 plus. Or the Thinkware f200 pro

#11, this happened recently on the light rail agency I work for. Someone decided they didn't want to pay their fare, so they jumped on the back of a light rail train and it was in the high speed area. Stupid is as stupid does.
