Driving next to a semi truck always makes me just a little anxious
I’ll wiggle my trailer if u sit next to me going down the road when no one is front of you.
Sometimes I’ll have to slow down because people are so afraid to pass. So bad that they hold up traffic behind us
I got hit like a week after I got my lisence by a truck that left his lane, and now I will not stay beside one for more than 5 seconds, because I get nervous, I'll normally speed by them or I'll match their speed behind the trailer, which I try not to do so I'm not impeding traffic
Yup which is why I always drive further away from them when i can
poeple here in Cali love to do that, driving by the semi's blind spot LOL

0:15 Not his fault but this is a perfect example of why you need to pay attention. He had more than enough time to react to the semi driver going into his lane. Whether its your fault or not theres no point for the unnecessary headache of dealing with a collision
For real. Plenty of time to react accordingly. How can you not see that massive vehicle beginning to veer into your lane and steer away? No one in the far left lane at all.
Was gonna say the same thing. He had plenty of time to marge and/or slow down, some people just don't respect truck drivers that's the thing
Technically, you are only expected to merge over one lane when letting cars onto the highway. He did what was expected. The semi should have waited 4 seconds before merging into another lane after the first merge.
Yes, paying more attention could have helped, but he was doing exactly what was expected. It's on the semi for not waiting between each lane change.

@@shaunthornton5217 So, Lucas here. I saw that the truck was about to hit a snow puddle so I slowed down. That kept me from getting hit by the truck

When someone lies to a cop about the facts of a collision, that should be an automatic arrest of the liar.
An arrest is a bit much lol but definitely a fine or ticket.
Never tell them you have a dashcam until AFTER they tell their side of the story to the police.

4:04 crazy how his car still drives fine and has no suspension damage from that. My dad had a Audi A5 in 2011 (essentially the coupe version) and got t boned by a van backing out of a driveway at a lower speed and the entire car was so messed up that it even cracked the rear wheel. It probably cost like 15 grand to repair it back then.
Also surprised it’s fine, seemed bad. My brother got hit in a roundabout right on his left rear wheel, it’s all scraped up and black and the fool never made a claim with the other driver’s insurance, hasn’t even gotten it looked at. Quarter panel is dented, but I’m worried about that wheel and suspension damage!

It is what happens when a driver stops signalling to other drivers before making a manoeuvre, and starts automatically signalling without looking just because they are going to make a move.
Even worse some people don't even signal. They just crawl in like they're in their backyard.
I swear this channel’s videos has taught me so many things and has help me with driving safe and to always pay attention to what going around. Absolutely love the content!

The best life lesson my dad taught me when driving. Always pay attention to ALL your mirrors, and leave yourself a way out. It's the other people you gotta watch out for. He died with a perfect unblemished driving record, age 79.

Mirrors can be damaged when it is a sideswipe incident…and as #11 was a sideswipe in, yep, mirror was damaged logically

You guys should probably compile a list and post the best dashcams in the video description multiple listings in the budget , mid and high tier category of dashcams .
The one with Kai in Fremont, California...see the thing is, people on that freeway (I'm guessing he's on I-880?) will go way faster than 70 MPH in the left lane. People have blown by me doing over 100+ MPH on that freeway in the early morning hours since there's no one there. 70 is like what people in the travel lanes go at. One of the reasons I finally got a dashcam is because of the absolute craziness I see on 880 every day (it's the fastest route to my work place). I just hope I don't end up being one of the submitters here! 😬😬😬

Having been in a vehicle that crashed into a snowbank and didn't show any problems until after all the snow had melted, I am making the suggestion that anyone in that predicament check their radiator and all their hoses afterward. My Older Ford Explorer went almost 4 months before showing an overheating problem because of a smashed hose. The only time we had any issues was when we smashed into the snowbank the winter before. Even if nothing feels wrong, check it all out and make sure... Love the Videos!

I find no joy in others pain and misery but….I do get a little chuckle when any vehicle with bigger tires and or 4WD get an instant reminder to slow down on snow AND remember that when there is ice you are just the same as every other car on the road.😊

@6:17 #7 "didn't have a front license plate" probably didn't have a rear license plate either as well as no insurance & no drivers license as well !
I have a cousin who refuses to get on any kind of highway or Interstate because of semi trucks. She will take an hour detour just to avoid the highway! If she has to go somewhere that calls for the interstate, someone else drives her. I had to take her to Washington DC before because she had an appointment and had to take I-81 and I-70 and I-270, all of which are major interstates in my area. We live in the four state area in Martinsburg WV and the interstate can take us to MD, PA, and VA all within 20 mins!
I was in a similar accident 5 years ago except I was in the passenger seat leaning against the door. I still get migraines and have permanent back and neck injuries. Have not driven to this day and have panic attacks when a big truck drives on the right of any vehicle I'm in.
tell her that well over 80% of all crashes involving big rigs are directly caused by cars. are there bad drivers? yup, However the vast majority are extremely safe.
I did something similar to that jeep at the end once. I was driving on the Interstate and hit completely stopped traffic just a quarter of a mile away from my exit. The standstill traffic did not start moving for several minutes and the shoulder was starting to look very enticing, several other drivers in front of me made the decision to start driving down the shoulder to the exit as well. So eventually I joined in but didn't make it too far down until the line of cars on the shoulder came to a stop as well. It turned out there was an abandoned pickup sitting on the shoulder. The other drivers in front of me were being NPCs and trying to rejoin traffic at this point, while drivers on the Interstate were understandably being stubborn and not letting anyone back in. Before coming to a stop myself I just pulled off the road entirely into the grass embankment to get around the line of cars and the abandoned pickup, then got back on the shoulder and drove the rest of the way to the exit without issue.

Imagine driving into a car you see reversing. While the reverse driver may be at fault, the sheer level of stupidity on both sides is astounding.

I always give semi's a wide berth. Always do what the first driver did and let them merge. But then again it's Winnipeg so the highways aren't all that big compared to this.

#1 is the drive asleep? How do you not see a massive semi going into your lane.
Kinda looked like he turned into the semi. Did he want a new car? 0 Defensive driving at all. And yes I agree it is the Semi’s fault but a little defensive driving could have avoided it. It looked like the semi driver was going back into the right lane just before contact was made.
Wide angle lens distorts the video from the perspective of the viewer vs the driver. I was not distracted. I wasn't even listening to music or anything as I never do in the morning. I simply just didn't expect the semi to come over into my lane. And while I didn't slam the brakes I did start slowing down. I had plenty of traffic on the road behind me and to the side of me. It's I-95 after all. If I would have swerved and hit someone else then it would have been a much worse accident. If I had slammed the brakes it could have caused a 4 car pile up. Just because I didn't avoid the accident doesn't mean I wasn't alert. I feel I could have done something differently to avoid it. If you read the timestamp you'll notice only 2 seconds from the time they enter the highway to the time they enter my lane.
8:10 A little fast? On that kind of street, in those conditions it was alot fast. Like 25 MPH is 40 Km/H, that road probably has a 50 Km/H speed limit being a residential street but there is no way you should be going anywhere near that on a downslope to a stop sign with ice all over the road.

4:10 something happened to me when I was playing driving school 2017. I'm in London driving over a bridge at 30 mph and a taxi beside me was driving at 15 mph, and as I am about to pass him he cuts me off and I had no choice but to rear end him, he drove on and so I turned off sport, drove across 2 lanes at 5 mph and took a right at the next intersection
