To jump in on the beginning disscusion, if someone fucks up in this show they will die. Ned fucked up by telling Cersei he knows about her kids. Catelyn fucked up by imprisoning Tyrion and freeing Jaime. Robb did the fuckup of the century by marrying Tallisa and beheading Karstark (also not listening to his advisors) this theme will continue on

They didn't just put any wolf's head on Rob's body, it was HIS direwolf. The one he raised from a pup. How sick is that? Poor Greywind. They both deserved so much better.

Leg, back and shoulder. Missing all the vital areas. She knew what she was doing for sure.
Well these wounds could have very easily been lethal, each wound can get infected. Also the Back Shot ist very Dangerous , vital Organs or the spine could have easily been ruptured. Without john's thick clothes this would have been a lethal shot.

I’m sorry but that applies to almost every human not only barbarians. This is literally a part of the human experience
"I have no meaning or purpose anymore, I've lost everything". I laughed my ass off for 20 minutes at that corker from Spartan.
When Spartan thinks of "non-warrior" characters as not being consequential, let him remember that Samwell Tarly was the first person to kill a White Walker in thousands of years.
Technically Littlefinger is non warrior and holy shit does he have consequences
Spartan being a Spartan. Sparta becomes a minor power due to a prolonged conflict with Athens, a city of thinkers thanks to their inability to become more than just a military based culture.
Spartan being upset about the Starks being eliminated
Bran, Sansa, Arya and Rickon: 😑
Jon...all of them are Half Stark.
Ok, so, about Boltons... Well, literally the first thing we got to know about them, right in the first book of the series, is that they flay their enemies. We also learn that they have this special chamber in their castle, Dreadfort (yes, this is the place where Theon is kept right now), where they display the skins of their enemies. And among these enemies were also some of the Stark kings back in the past.
You see, the worst consequence of Theon capturing Winterfell was that this created the power vacuum in the North. And it is kind of a recurring theme that when the ruling family of one region falls or fails, there is always the second powerful family waiting to seize the region.
For Starks, this second family are Boltons,.
For Arryns, second powerful family are Royces.
For Tyrells, second powerful family are Tarlys.
For Tullys, second powerful family are Freys.
For Lannisters, second powerful family were Reynes but Tywin Lannister got rid of them - hence the song Rains of Castamere. The talk between Cersei and Margaery kind of foreshadows the Red Wedding too.
During the Red Wedding, Freys and Boltons betrayed their liege lords - Tullys and Starks respectively. And they also broke guest right which is, arguably, the worst crime you can commit in Westeros, worse than a murder, and arguably, even worse than kinslaying (there are degrees in kinslaying, you see, but there are no degrees in breaking the guest right).
@ Barbara : very well said/written. Thank you.
Thanks! Love learning new things, even after my 100th reaction watch.
@@that.ll_do_pig Thank you, i also like watching reaction because fresh viewers can give you a different perspective on the characters and plot.
For example I had never felt much sympathy for Theon Greyjoy before I watched Spartan and Pudgey and they were sympathizing with him. It wasn't because I considered him cruel, on the contrary, when you read his chapters you have impression that he is kind of a moron.
Let me just quote this little gem from Winds of winter:
"Once, a boy called Theon Greyjoy had enjoyed tweaking Bolton as they sat at council with Robb Stark, mocking his soft voice and making japes about leeches."
And then his stupidity becomes tragic. And Spartan and Pudgey have this very humane attitude towards all the characters. It's refreshing to watch them because many ASIOAF and GOT fan (myself included) are sort of jaded and cynical.
Tywin sending Joffrey to bed without dinner is one of my favourite scenes in the entire series 😄
Fun fact: Robb died in the books in the year 2000. I was 19 at the time (I'm old) and I still remember hearing my roommate at the time throwing the hardback book against the wall in the next room and screaming before knocking on my door. I didn't have anyone to even talk about it for a few days until then. Good times. So by the time it happened in the show I'd had more than a decade to process it. Probably harder for people that it's a surprise to.
For me, what they did to Rob’s body with his own wolf’s head stands out to me as the most horrifying part of the red wedding. It’s just sick. It’s sad watching you two so defeated.

@@andyrobin7196 wow, you're so edgy mate.

@@MrKingYuji FFS. This take that they deserved it is horrible.
"Rhaegar fought valiantly, Rhaegar fought nobly, Rhaegar fought honorably. And Rhaegar died.”
Robb was a real one, a good, honourable man, but he'd been on the edge for too long. Small mistakes had been adding up, until the consequences were inevitable. That he lasted as long as he did was testament to his brilliance as a general.
As we learned from Ned, doing the right thing isn't enough to survive in the Game of Thrones, and the virtuous are not handed victory by some outside judge.
Ygritte wasn't just hurt, she was also a fierce believer in her cause, and Jon was betraying them all - it could mean the extinction of her civilization.
Robb wasn't 100% honorable, not marrying Frey's daughter was not a good decision. He lied.
George R.R. Martin, the author of the Song of Ice and Fire, has always believed that he wants the reader to be emotionally involved in his stories and almost afraid to turn the page. Although even he had to finish the whole book before going back and writing in the Red Wedding.

I felt so sad when Spartan said Jon is not Stark.....just saying
damn spoiler
I mean he would be half Stark just like Ned's other children... The bastard thing is a bit silly, marriage doesn't change your blood.
Jon gave up his old family to join the night's watch though
He and Arya are the only ones with the Stark look in the books.
When Jon ran from the Wilding, he intentionally bumped Ygritte out of the way so that she wouldn't shoot her own people and become their enemy. He left her so that she could rejoin her people - it was a hard decision to make, but he knew he would have to return (out of duty) to the nights watch - and he couldn't take her because it was against his vows. He made it appear that he left her behind and that it was all an act, even though we know under the surface he was torn apart by the decision. This made it hurt that much more for both of them. When she caught up with him, I think she finally understood and knew she had to shoot him to keep up the story for both her own people, and to make it convincing when he returned to the Night's Watch that he had barely escaped with his life. She 'could' have killed him - but chose to honour his wishes to follow his duty and honour, at the expense if them being together. It hurt her, because she came to the realisation as she aimed the arrow at him, and knew she had to shoot him, but couldn't kill him. She understood what and why he was doing it, but was hurt, yet accepted the fate.
Well said! Hopefully they see this comment.
Reading this breaks my heart but I really couldn’t have said it better.

Really should just have em pin this. Otherwise it’s gonna get lost
Hey mod, I completely agree with you, but I'd like to respectfully raise an issue that is somewhat controversial in the CZcams reaction community. I have noticed that many reactors ask their audience not spoil them the show they are reacting to how. It's a fair request, but it's often never reciprocated. Most reactors will put spoilers in their titles and thumbnails, supposedly because it attracts more views. That is not fair to the audience. What reactors don't realize is that their videos will be suggested by CZcams to people who may not follow their channel.
So I could be watching *_Game of Thrones_* for the first time, and after every episode, watch reactions from *The Normies.* By watching *The Normies'* reaction to season 1, CZcams's algorithm will suggest to me other channels reacting to GoT, and the video suggested to me may be from much later season or episodes. If the titles and thumbnails of those suggested videos have spoilers, the enjoyment of the show is ruined.
That is exactly how I got spoiled another show from a reaction channel I don't even follow. I was at an earlier season, and I got suggested a reaction to the series finale, where the reactor put in the thumbnail a character that was presumed to be dead. So I basically got spoiled that that character was still alive.
My point is, please have some consideration for your present audience and future audience who don't want spoilers. I guarantee you that some people are going to watch your reactions years after they have been published. Some will watch S&P's reaction to E01 of GoT, after they've watched the first episode themselves, and they could be spoiled by later S&P reactions that reveal that Ned Stark & Robb die.
if this is a real mod message, why arent you capable of getting it pinned?
@@andyrobin7196 we have chosen to pin our Patreon message for now as it lets people know who may want early access to future episodes

All caught up on your reactions, finally. I think Spartan is almost ready to drop the show. But it's worth sticking around, without giving anything away. There's a feeling of loss and mourning baked into the narrative as it already was with Ned's fate at the end of season 1. But the characters keep going despite the overwhelming odds or the creeping despair. I hope you'll come around to see that even without Robb not all hope is lost.
Love your reactions and how attentive you are to the story and the small details. I have read the books before watching the show and was always amazed how people can grasp everything going on without that background knowledge. Hell, I felt pretty lost sometimes even with that knowledge. Looking forward to see how you'll react to the ongoing journey. Thanks for sharing your impressions! It's like seeing the show for the first time again through you!
I really wasn't so much into Robb, so of course I felt the Red Wedding was horrible, but my favorite characters from the beginning were Jon Snow and Bran Stark (and also Tyrion, Jorah, Davos...) so it wasn't such a big schock for me to lose Robb, Talyssa and Catelyn.

I have never met or heard of a single person who ditch the show/books after the Red wedding (or few episodes after). Everyone were devastated, though, took a break, returned and stuck till the end. This says A Lot about how good it is as a story in general. I could not wrap my head around how would this story even get close to before episode 9. And it definitely did get even better and the show did not suffer storyline after this episode. Epic!

Varys wasn’t sent by Tyrion to talk to Shae. He just wants to keep Tyrion safe because he knows that the realm will be better off for it.
A few episodes ago Tyrion had a great line while talking to Cersei. It was something like "Seven Kingdoms united in fear of Tywin Lannister". That's a perfect one line summary of the show up to this point. The Lannisters have pretty much won the War of the Five Kings for all intents and purposes. They're at the top of the world. This is where things stand as we enter the unforgetable masterpiece of a season that is Season 4. The battle is over but the war is still to be won!
In that same scene, he makes Cersei wait until he finishes a letter until he speaks to her. I think that might have been a letter to Walder Frey that sets up the whole Red Wedding,
Nah the war is also over for the moment. Who could really challenge the Lannisters especially Tywin.
@@reyjr2460 This reminds me of how the trailer of Season 4 starts :
Joffrey : They know I saved the city. They know I won the war.
Jaime : The war is not won.
As long as Stannis breathes the war is not won. As long as Margaery Tyrell feeds the people of King's Landing the war is not won.
Ned Stark to Jon Snow: "You might not have my name, but you have my blood"
Wait wait! It'S ACTUALLY JEOR Mormont, not JOER!
That's probably where the confusion was! No worries, looking forward to the next discussion/ep!
the red wedding was necessary, in my opinion. it reminds us of what we learnt in season 1 episode 9, no character is off the table, and it’s that fear that drives game of thrones. poor spartan and pudgy 😅 we all had one of those two reactions when we watched it
Richard Madden that played Robb Stark said in a interview that after shooting his last episode on the flight home he cried. It was over for him and he loved playing Rob. He's had a nice career since then and won a Golden Globe. I always follow him to see what he's doing.
That bit where the Freys were parading Robb's body around is a good example of what happens when the bad guys actually win in stories.
The Red Wedding was inspired by a few real events in Scottish history, namely The Black Dinner and The Massacre of Glencoe. And whilst the post wedding depression is real there are so many amazing scenes and twists to come as I'm sure you could imagine!

Ohhh pooor spartan I’m half way through and the disappointment in his face every answer from him is “what’s the point now” bless there is still a story even though rob is gone
The reigns of castamere song that they played before they started massacreing the Starks at the red wedding was a song about eliminating That house.. It's the lannister song because they are the ones who did it and this was really the lannister's call as well.
I think it’s important to remember that House Stark is not gone, and don’t count out the younger Stark children just on account of their age or skill, in many ways, they are the future and perhaps the real main characters all along.
And also at least now y’all will be ready for anything that House of the Dragon will throw at you guys when the war starts with season 2 because heartbreak, consequences, and more misery is surely to come in various ways.
In many ways, it’s as Theon’s tormentor said, if you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention. The author of the book series has never been interested in just the classic Disney happily ever after endings, he’s more interested in how do these things play out in real life, many of what happens in this show/series are taken right out of the history books. He’s always intended for this story and this ending to be bittersweet.
*SPOILER ALERT! That quote you just cited is not from any of the seasons S&P have watched.* That said, Spartan had made it very clear that he is drawn to very specific types of characters. The "hero/warrior" type. It's not about the other Starks still being alive, it's about them not fitting that role for him.

Pudgey changing her t-shirt to Stark after previous video made my day. I know how you feel, like what's left of the great house of Stark. But please don't write off the rest just yet..
And it says a great deal about the show that right now you feel nothing can live up to the story so far and it is all gone.. And then we have another 5 seasons!! That people could not wait to come out. Just imagine what's more to come :)
"Sometimes thinking with your penis doesn't end well" really sums up this entire series
10:40 Bless Pudgey for thinking of poor Sandor!😊
i thought you guys were british at first but now i think aussie because of how pudgey sounds like she adds “r” sounds to so many words. “They dooo-rr” and “I knoww-rr” 😂 love it
Hey guys, I think the issue is that it's actually not 'Jo-er', it's 'Je-or'. I think you may have seen it spelled incorrectly somewhere. Even with the accent, the 'e' comes before the 'o'.
Great reaction as usual 👍
Have faith spartan the heroism you crave cannot be seen as evil tips the scale ... but where the humble, the loving and the honourable are crushed and forgotten their great words and deeds will echo through this world louder than the war cry of a million man army.
I'm glad you guys are back...I know it must have been hard after the last episode. We love you!💞
I'm so glad that you two are so great at avoiding spoilers for the series. It's so much better to take it in that way. Keep up the awesome reactions!
A bit surprised you didn’t get ygrittes reasoning for non fatally shooting Jon
Wow I never picked up on that one line Cersei said that if she didn't have her children she would have thrown herself from the highest window from the Red Keep 🤔
On your intro, I think this comment really explains things “When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die!” Unfortunately, noble yet dumb decisions were made by Ned and then Rob seriously…
Good people don’t always win, take them out before they take you out is something that resonates in society today maybe not to the extent that’s shown in a medieval fantasy world but in most walks of life.
Keep ya chins up, there’s still a bit more of a rollercoaster ride to be had 😉👍
Just to add, hope yas enjoyed another scene of Tywin showing who’s boss with the so called king… regardless of the RW😢, there’s noone big enough that can take him down… he’s a Lannister ffs
"Do you still think good soldiers make good kings?" - Renly Baratheon
Honestly after the red wedding when the screen cut black my jaw was dropped to the floor and I smirked because of how perfect it was. The writing is so well written that i trust where the story is going so I just kept watching. Funny thing I knew ab the red wedding that it was a wedding that had characters die and I was so nervous with tyrion’s that I forgot that edmure’s could be it.
Funny enough, my (and most people) favourite season is 6 and next is 4, both of them without Rob, this should cheer you up!
the red wedding is the best. it needed to happen. when losing is a real possibility... and the show lets youKNOW it... that makes the victories all the more meaningful
“If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”
“Screw you too, I know you’re hurt, but you screw you too”
…got into the show and beat her up 😂😂😂
More than foreshadowing for the future or a possible revenge, I think the scene where Bran tells the story about the guy who killed His guests shows that guest right Is very important in the north, and since Robb would have grown up with the same story, it makes Sense that he would feel safe being in walder frey's castle as a guest.
The coin doesn't summon Jaqen!... He invited her to Braavos, she said no, he said she should show the coin to any man from Braavos if she ever changes her mind.
man their reaction to this episode is hilarious. Especially to Ygritte shooting Jon with the arrows.
I've only watched a minute of this and it's already clear. Ah, yes... our new Winter Children. Welcome to the club. I look forward to your reactions to the rest of the good seasons and even the bad. It'll be filled with some good times, but a lot of winter...
They're still in denial mode (as we all are that time) 😂 but they'll realize in retrospect the brilliance of the writing as the shock goes away.
To me Ygritte shot Jon in places that he would survive from because him she never really wanted to kill him, because she is more than capable of doing that, she just felt completely betrayed and she didn’t want Jon to just ride off and leave her like she was nothing
She knew Jon has a good heart, as he refused to kill her even though she was an enemy.
"Go the hound!" made me laugh so hard for some reason lol
OMG... Spartan is a little... wimps... Robb was not the only Stark that is alive!
Pudgey to Spartan: How are you not shocked??
Story of the entire channel.
"Love is the death of duty" Maester Aemon - Season 1
I like how sandor doesn't mind Arya kill a few soldiers, he just wants to be informed beforehand.
You realize how ironically insane it looks when you're grasping on to Tywin like a drowning person to give you that one small W by putting Joffrey in his place ("it's coming, it's coming, I can feel it" 😂), when it is Tywin who is most responsible for taking your hopes and joys away by orchestrating the brutal cold blooded guest rite mass murder of the Starks. It is Tywin who wiped out ya boy Robbie. You should be Team Joffrey 💀
This didnt even cross my mind😂
We are cheering for Tywin for owning Joffrey then 5 minutes later we hate him when he admits to planning the Red Wedding
@@MrKingYuji I mean it was necessary for the Lannisters. It is the game of thrones. Either you win or you die. But still I was heartbroken when Robb died.
Thank you; this was my take as well, but you expressed it better.
Not that I’d be Team Joffrey, who would have happily co-signed the plan and wants to serve Robb’s head to Sansa. Tywin is more evil than Joffrey, really, though.
Loving your reactions to this fantastic show guys. Having watched it three times through the red wedding still hurts but it's definitely worth pushing on. Please don't give up on the remaing Starks though! 👌
spartan's so naive when it comes to his views regarding 'heroism' lol xD
I like your reactions a lot. You both always have interesting points and complement or contradict each other´s opinions in an engaging way. I also like how each of you register different details. : )
You really cant imagine the lanisters winning for so long by doing it on the battlefields , rob just wasnt sharp anymore and got distracted , betray an oath and when a stark betray a oath he got his head chop of .
honor is meant to be uphold no matter what or its not honnor and they both failed (rob , and his parents ) , let see if other stark will keep their word now
I understand the immediate hate to to ygrittes action of shooting John, but don't forget, she is known for never missing her shots, she wasn't shooting to kill John, the person she loved more then anything, it was her in pain and using her bow as an extension of her heart strings trying to tell John not to leave her again, each shot not meaning to lose him forever but to keep him with her. If she wanted to kill him she easily could of, just a different more, ygritte way of doing the "Don't leave me scene".
I’m surprised Spartan kept watching but definitely very happy.
Yes glad they didn’t give up on the show
You’d be surprised. He’s actually pretty perceptive and it is shown through his analysis about the Red Wedding.
@@mitchfitch and that has nothing at all to do with what he said.
@@SnailHatan it means to say that he is perceptive enough to look at all sides/parties, understand their motivations and situation, and move on with the show. So no to your statement.
Got gives them a huge audience and help them grow their channel to make some money. Why the fuck should they stop. Because a fictional character died😂
Hey guys..have truly been enjoying your reaction videos through the GoT experience. I had the benefit of reading the books before watching the show, but even though I knew the "red wedding" was coming, nothing could have prepared me for that. I cry every time no matter how many times I see it and I'm not a person who cries easily or often. Anyway, wanted to pipe in here to tell you not to lose hope in rooting for your heroes. Whether for good or ill, GoT is like nothing else out there and when all is said and done, you'll be glad for the experience.. at least I am. XO
red wedding was a bit of a shock when I watched the show for the first time. but I wasn't really involved with Rob as much. I didn't like Cat, cause of her hate for Jon. Thalissa was shown very rarely, so I didn't fell for her either.
My love list on GoT are Dany, Arya, Jon. Like - Jorah (Dany's knight), Davos, Varys and Tyrion. Hate list - Cercei, Joffrey and Alliser Thorne (Night's Watch man).
Spartans 'yuck' reactions make me laugh every time lol.
That Small council scene + Tyrion/Tywin convo is my favorite scene in the whole show. Great performance by everyone.
When the show originally aired it was torture to wait until the following week to see what was coming next. And even worse was waiting a year for the next season to start. Hang in there.
30:35 Spartan, I know you're depressed from Robb's death, but you can't hate Ygritte. Her position is completely understandable. Plus, she totally could have killed him right there, but she didn't. Consider what that means.
