Thanks for the tips for my soon to be hood installation. They’ll come in handy while I’m doing the install. Love all your videos and information you put out there. Keep it up it helps lol
HMS Hood, sunk down by the Bismark! Also, I don't think any of us are as strong as Cam!!
Good one but you may be going a little far back for lots of folks with Hood.
LOL, cracked up at the "eventually its gonna be a nice car" I know what you mean!
Fast Forward to 7:00 for actual adjustment. Thanks Guys. Very Helpful. Worked out just as well on my 63 Ranchero.
Eeeeh there are other things before that. Like Spring installs etc. As to the Ranchero...yes, it would. And the spring tip would too.
Thank for the vid guys
Oh nice, I figured the hood graphic was vinyl when I saw it on the Instagrams. I didn't realize you actually painted that bad boy on the hood :)
Good job guys...
The video is super helpful, but I am having trouble with the hood side to side alignment. there was a previous 1/8th inch shim on the old stock hinges. when I upgraded to a new set, I cant seem to get my hood to 'push' over to the left enough...its to the point where I cannot close my hood, no matter the amount of shims I use. Any suggestions or help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. You guys are the best.
Tyler, contact Jeff directly at: jford@autorestomod.com send some pics of the issue and what you are working on. There are to many variables to cover here.
Here's an oddball question - I like the calendar behind you. Where did you get it?
For Christmas last year...and that is the honest truth.
Jeff...I need your help again !!! My hood hinges on my 1966 Coupe are good (as far as I know) Mounted the hood and I can adjust fore and aft ...but when its aligned along the back as it should be, its too far to the drivers side ..in other words I have a VERY narrow gap on the drivers side by the fender and a REALLY wide gap on the passenger side. All the way down the line (not canted) How do I move it left to right, right to left ? I am puzzled ...THANK YOU as always
No worries Robert, loosen the hood hinges just a bit, tap the outside of the hood hinge on the side with too much gap towards the side with not enough. You'll need to tap the inside of the hinge on the side with too little gap too. Should fix your gap issue. If you are still having problems, email me at: jford@autorestomod.com
Thanks jeff but confusion ..so just to be clear ...I am tapping in the direction of the smaller gap away from the larger gap ? Just thinking that seems like it would widen the gap even more ? What am I missing ? LOL?
So I needed to drop the back of my 67 mustang hood by an inch. I adjusted the hinges like you said in this video. I'm out of adjustment. Still need to go down a half inch. Now what?

@@AutoRestoMod lol. Jeff, how do you have time to answer questions? You have so much going on. Better tell Luke to get busy so you can be on the chat more. Lol
Groovy hair 😁
Thought about a full mullet...but nah.
Did you have the hood latch removed when making the hood adjustment?
Yes. Makes it easier.

What do you do if the freaking reproduction hood is absolute trash and the hole for the striker is almost a freaking inch off?
