    We want your thoughts and comments below. What kind of project are you working on? What Mustang are you daily driving?
    Today at Alf's Mustang Garage we install new carpet in our 1967 Ford Mustang coupe project. This should aid as a guide in helping you with your carpet install and not a step by step. Every carpet is going to fit different and every car is going to be different. The carpet is made oversized so it can be trimmed and fitted to the car's desire. This will be the same procedure for a Mustang fastback. If you know any tricks or tips that you don't see in this video, please feel free to share below. Thanks for watching!

    Greetings from Rochester NY.
    Just came across your channel. Great straight forward videos. I’m restoring a 65 convertible, 200/C4 car. Thanks for the real life tips.

      Greetings Bob! Thanks for taking the time to say hello. Awesome car to restore! I'm working on a few 6 cylinder videos right now so I hope you can find some good help.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the mass back on the carpet just thin carpet padding glued to the back of the carpet? I have lots of that laying around. I will save the 100+$ if I can use that rather than buying carpet with it on it already.

    Thanks for the tips! Your seats look wrinkled, and not up to the same quality as your carpet job. You probably know this, but half-inch padding would make most of those wrinkles go away.

    Great Video Alf! I’m about to do this on a right hand drive convertable.
    Have you ever installed the rear lap sash seatbelt?

    • @AlfsMustangGarage
      @AlfsMustangGarage  Před 2 lety +2

      Oh wow that's really cool. So I'm sorry but I'm not sure what a rear lap sash is. Is that like a 3 point seat belt?

      @@AlfsMustangGarage sorry, yes 3 point, We’ve got a set ordered from the states, hopefully it gets here soon.

      My apologies, I've never heard them called that before. I've never done one in a convertible but I have done them in coupes. The issue you're going to run into is mounting the retractor assembly for the rear seat. The front seats can go right into the floor right up next to the inner quarter. But the rear seats I'm afraid I don't have an answer for.

      @@AlfsMustangGarage all good, i’ve seen another video installing them in the rear, but its not very clear as to where the reel goes. Thanks again! Love the videos. I’m really hoping our fuel gauge fault isn’t the same as your peeling paint problem

      Oh ya hopefully! That was crazy wasn't it? Usually it's the sending unit. That was something that I have never seen before and haven't seen since 🤣🤣🤣

    You fast forwarded the most important part of the install =(

    Should have used a wood burner or soldering iron to make the holes, less chance of the carpet unraveling.

  • @hughphillips67Mustang

    What is the paint code o. Your car? I have the exact same interior, but my exterior is a much lighter color. My paint code is B, which is frost turquoise. But almost looks like sky blue. But it's factory paint.

    • @AlfsMustangGarage
      @AlfsMustangGarage  Před rokem +1

      Oh I'm not sure. I know it's turquoise, but I would have to look up the code.
