The way I imagined it, Jason would have revived and started killing people around Camp Crystal Lake. Ash hears about the many... disappearances, and decides to investigate and make sure the disappearances aren’t being caused by Deadites. Jason sees him and tries to kill him, starting the Jason vs Ash part of the movie.
I feel that’s fairly accurate to Ash’s character, and sounds like a much more realistic way for the icons to “meet” than Ash just happening to be working at an S-Mart that opens-up at Crystal Lake. For a writer, his story is very “what a coincidence”.

Depending on which continuity is used, Freddy Krueger resurrects Michael Myers or tampers with the Curse of the Thorn. He manipulates Myers into destroying the local supply of Hypnocil and murdering the people of Elm Street, sort of like how he used Jason Voorhees in the past. Myers is more intelligent than Jason, making Freddy's plan run smoothly this time.
Meanwhile, Jason has obtained the Necronomicon Ex Mortis: The Book of the Dead, the Kandarian Dagger, and the Lament Configuration. Jason's mother is in his psyche, guiding Jason to do her bidding.
As Freddy sets Myers loose on Elm Street, Jason enters a slumber to confront Freddy in the dream world. Freddy, fully confident that Jason cannot defeat him in the dream world, surrounds Jason with walls of raging water, just like in the past. Jason, surrounded with water, opens up the Lament Configuration. The water disappears.
The setting, no longer the dream world, becomes the realm of Leviathan. The dream world is transformed into Leviathan's Hell by Jason opening the Lament Configuration inside of the nightmare. Freddy's powers lose their effect in this new setting. He is severely weakened.
The Cenobites appear. Freddy and Jason are thrown up on hooks with chains. Pinhead begins to speak to Freddy, but Jason breaks free and decapitates Freddy with the Kandarian Dagger. Pinhead sees Jason's brutality as a waste of good suffering.
Jason then goes on a rampage through the realm of Leviathan with the Kandarian Dagger. He uses it to kill the Cenobites. Jason uses the cenobites own chains against them. Pinhead again tells Jason it's a waste of good suffering. Jason continues his onslaught against the Cenobites with the Kandarian Dagger.
Meanwhile, Myers is on a killing spree on Elm Street. Ash Williams, on a hunt for the Necronomicon, thinks it's Jason commiting the murders because of the events of Freddy Vs Jason. He gives Myers a chest full of boomstick, sending Myers off a long drop. Myers disappears in a body of water. Ash realizes it isn't Jason.
Andy Barclay has also arrived on the scene. He mentions Chucky wants the Necronomicon and is also on the same path as Ash. He joins Ash and Ash's friends, Pablo and Kelly. They partner with Lori Campbell and Will Rollins from Freddy Vs Jason, who have kept Freddy weak all these years with Hypnocil and by replacing the lore of Freddy Krueger with the lore of Jason Voorhees. Keeping Freddy out of people's minds and replacing him with the legend of Jason weakens Freddy further. We also meet some familiar franchise faces from whatever Halloween continuity is used, possibly Laurie Strode. A team forms between these characters. Myers secretly emerges from the water still alive and hides in the shadows. Without Freddy to pull his strings, Myers abandons Elm Street and stalks the team of protagonists on the search for the Necronomicon.
In Hell, Jason has defeated all Cenobites in the immediate vicinity besides Pinhead. Pinhead and Jason Face off. Pinhead restrains Jason with chains and analyzes Jason in Awe. He tries to savor Jason's pain, but realizes Jason is incapable of feeling much of anything except bloodlust. Jason is able to break the chains with the Kandarian Dagger and end Pinhead by throwing the dagger into Pinhead's chest. Pinhead collapses and becomes a corpse. Jason reclaims the dagger.
Leviathan appears. The walls twist and bend to trap Jason. Jason struggles to break free, but becomes bound to the hellish scenery. He shows great resilience, but is now dealing with a much more powerful force. Jason becomes trapped as Leviathan begins to transform him into a Cenobite.
Jason is incapable of defeating Leviathan. Jason struggles as pieces of him are replaced and transformed. It seems as though his fate is sealed when Jason's mother begins to read from the Necronomicon in Jason's mind. Jason breaks one hand free with the Kandarian Dagger. The words of the Necronomicon resurrect the dead Cenobites around Jason as Deadites. The Deadites show no prior personality traits and are purely Deadites in the bodies of Cenobites. The Deadite Pinhead breaks Jason free of Leviathan's grasp. Jason's mother guides Jason into solving the Lament Configuration. Otherwise, he would be bound to Leviathan's realm.
Jason solves the puzzle with the help of his mother and emerges in the nightmare realm where he left off, except Freddy is now dead. The water still rages around Jason in the nightmare. Jason now takes on a slightly different physical appearance, half Deadite, half Cenobite. His mother appears in physical form and tells Jason he can manipulate the dream. The water dissipates around Jason by his own will. He has control of the nightmare. His mother tells him it's time to wake up. He awakens from his slumber at Camp Crystal Lake.
The team of protagonists reach Camp Crystal Lake, which is now populated by Deadites and zombies. Jason and his mother have been continuously performing rituals from the Necronomicon. Ash and company intervene. Mayhem ensues.
Ash and friends are restrained by Deadites as Jason approaches to slaughter. The Deadites mock and tease Ash in typical Deadite fashion as they hold Ash down and Jason approaches. It looks as if Jason is about to deliver a violent, fatal blow to Ash with a machete, but Jason throws the Machete away to his side, into the trees, seemingly for no reason. Ash gets confused as Jason turns and looks toward the woods where he just threw the machete. Michael Myers comes out from behind a tree, the machete partially embedded in his torso. Myers pulls the machete out of him and holds it by the handle, staring back at Jason. Myers charges Jason with the machete.
While the two face off, the team of protagonists use the opportunity to break free from the Deadites and regain the Necronomicon. Ash performs the ritual to stop the deadites from multiplying.
Jason is in uber-Jason mode from his transformation, so he only suffers minor, superficial damage from Myers. Myers hits Jason with the machete until it breaks. Jason uses only his hands to break Myers arm that is holding the broken machete. The machete falls to the dirt. Jason snaps Myers neck, turning Myers head backwards. Myers collapses. Jason picks up the broken machete and turns his focus back on Ash Williams, who is still reading from the Necronomicon.
Ash has used the Necronomicon the stop Deadites from multiplying, but he needs more time to recite the words to send them all back to Hell. Jason approaches.
To buy Ash some time, Kelly and Pablo attack Jason with the Kandarian Dagger. The other protagonists fight against Deadites. Pablo, holding the dagger, is thrown to the side and killed. Jason fights Kelly.
Myers, still alive, has sit up and turned his own head back forward. He grabs the Kandarian Dagger from the deceased Pablo and stabs Jason in the chest from behind. The ground opens up around Jason and begins to take him to Hell like it did in the past. Demons try to pull Jason farther into the pit. Jason pulls the dagger out of his chest, but Myers kicks it all the way back into him. It's Deadites versus demons as the Deadites try to help Jason break free. Myers attempts to target Ash next, but a Deadite attacks Myers and Myers is preoccupied with Deadites.
Ash finishes the ritual. The pit around Jason increases in size, pulling all Deadites into it like a vacuum. The earth quakes as the hole gets bigger. The flames of Hell and demons are visible deep down. A Deadite being pulled in pulls Myers in on it's way down. Myers grabs the foot of Jason Voorhees and holds on to him with an iron grip. Jason hangs to the ledge with one hand while trying to remove the dagger from his chest. He removes it successfully. The demons lose grip on Jason and they disappear, but the pit remains open and the vacuum of the pit persists. All the Deadites are gone except for Jason. Jason kicks Myers off his foot. Myers clings to the pit wall by stabbing the pit wall with a knife and holding onto the handle. Jason climbs to the surface against the vacuum of the pit. He stares at the protagonists while holding the Kandarian Dagger.
Ash tells Kelly and Andy to take the Necronomicon and run. They oblige him. Ash takes on Jason and is fatally wounded. Before Ash dies, he says a one-liner and throws the Lament Configuration into the pit. It explodes deep down. Cenobite chains emerge from the explosion, past Myers, tearing into Jason, and pulling Jason back to the pit, down to the underworld. Myers and Jason make eye contact as Myers clings to the ledge and Jason is pulled into the flames. Jason gives Myers a thumbs up like when the Terminator goes into the molten metal in T2. The vacuum of the pit ceases. All Deadites are gone.
Myers has outlived Jason. He attempts to climb out of the pit. The earth quakes once more as the pit begins to close up around Myers. He is buried alive.
Andy and Kelly drive away in the Delta '88 with the Necronomicon. It seems a peaceful getaway until Chucky emerges from the back seat. The scene cuts away.
Meanwhile, on Elm Street, someone remembers Freddy Krueger. Freddy's plan was accomplished. All he needed was the people of Elm Street to remember him for him to be resurrected. We end the story in Freddy's nightmare.
Moral of the story is don't let handicapped kids drown.

Bruce said he is down to do more Ash as long as it wasn’t in real life. His departure from the role was only in a live action sense, but he was interviewed saying that Ash could come back in a animated series and of course the video game. So idk maybe they could do like a animated movie? I think realistically the most that could happen is maybe a crossover in the Evil Dead game, which is out now and is really fun!

I still can't get over it them not making Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. I would of love to see the movie. But New Line Cinema for Freddy didn't let it happen, all because he lost in the first film. Sam Raimi was gonna direct and wanted Ash to win. Robert Englund was fine losing again and thought it was funny and a great idea. He knows his character always comes back eventually. But New Line still rejected the film. Yes, Freddy is the most successful horror franchise but Idk why they care about Freddy losing again when they made him look bad on every ending movie of his. But they always show him coming back eventually. Ash killing Freddy and Jason maybe satisfying but who says they are going to be dead for good. Oh well, it would of been a great movie.

One idea I have about how these three would get together, is that Freddy would've searched Jason's dreams and find out about the Necronomicon his mother used to revive him. And while he would be unable to find it himself, Jason somehow could. So Freddy would use Jason to track down the book, eventually coming across Ash who kept the book hidden all those years since the third Evil Dead film.

I have all six issues of the first comic series, and I can tell you first hand: they are amazing. There's a good mix of the characters, some cool kills, an even blend of comedy and horror, and they manage to fit all three franchises in organically. The reason the Necromicon was there is because it was in "Jason Goes To Hell". As they explain in the comics, Jason's mom used the book to bring her boy back after the counselors let him drown, thus making Jason a deadite. Ash feels something compelling him to go to Crystal Lake, (that something being the influence of the book since Ash is the Chosen One). So he asks for a transfer to the new S-Mart that was opening in Crystal Lake (now Forest Green since the old name was bad for tourism); he didn't already work there. Also, S-Mart is large chain store, of course they're gonna open one everywhere they possibly can. As for the contradictions to the film's ending, that bit of Jason coming out of the lake with Freddy's head is also easily explained. It was all a dream sequence that Freddy created to make Jason think that he'd won. Therefore, Freddy must be in Jason's head in order to do this, pulling all the strings to get Jason to do his bidding again. And that bidding? Getting the book. How does Freddy know about the book? Well, he was given his powers by dream demons, maybe they told him, or maybe he learned while he was in Hell. It all fits together. I also don't see how any of this is lazy. Maybe you skipped a few sentences and forgot how to infer, I don't know. Either way, I highly reccomend these comics to anyone and everyone. Them and the sequel series "Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash: The Nightmare Warriors". It's just as good as the first series (I don't own that one, but I picked up the trade paperback in a library, so I can again say this with first hand knowledge). I actually can't reccomend these enough.

What I would have done for Freddie VS Jason VS Ash is go off of the original (intended) ending to Army Of Darkness, where Ash wakes up to a post apocalyptic future. At the end of Freddy vs Jason they come out of the water together, so have it be that they teamed up and they are the cause of the world's destruction. Because at some point in the intervening hundred years they got their hands on the Necronomicon. So for the first third or so it's Ash alone going crazy, like in Evil Dead 2. Then he comes across some survivors. It would still be a limited cast and the only cost would be the setting (which isn't that expensive) and the fight scenes.

Easy fix. The necronomican was in Jason goes to hell and Freddy's glove was in evil dead 2. They are all linked and that can be used. Jason killed Freddy, Freddy in the dream state notices the necronomican and used it to cast himself back. This alerts Ash that the book it being used. He then travels to crystal lake and as the two Titans are going at it, ash shows up in the Delta and drops his famous one liners.

Jason being brought back by Pamela is implied in Jason goes to Hell. So the Necronomicon in the Voorhees home tracks. Freddy knowing it's near by fits since he's a demon and would be attracted to it. And the comic makes explicit that Ash purposefully transferred to the Crystal Lake/Forest Green S-Mart to investigate.
The pieces actually fit together pretty well all things considered.

I must say, while the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot was notoriously bad, I have to respectfully disagree over the “Very few people would be happy for JEH to return to the role.” If anything, JEH deserves a second chance performance, even if it was just for F v J v A.
Jackie Earl Haley was the only good part of that reboot and I think he gets a lot of unnecessary criticism. He was given bad directing, pages of bad writing, and a strong character change from the usual camp Robert Englund had with the character.
It feels like JEH was the only one who truly respected the classic films. He was given garbage dialogue and still delivered a chilling performance, dark jokes and all. The “rubbing two fingers blades together” tick he added to Freddy was such a clever touch.
Robert Englund gave the thumbs up for JEH visually and the man genuinely tried to do Freddy right.
I can’t fault him for everyone else on set’s actions.
Give the man a second chance to play Freddy right with much better writing, an actual plot line, spooky material, and fully practical face make up instead of that CGI abomination.

Not Englund, but he is good.), Kersinger, and maybe we get that Evil Dead crossover we were promised (that somehow branched off into AvED) and we have Jane Levy return as Mia. But this could be the apocalyptic timeline where Jason (by proxy of no one could or would f*** with him) and Freddy (by desire and megalomania) have become Kings of the deadites. Ash has only just woken up from Army of Darkness, Mia only postponed the takeover of the deadites. Jarvis, Alice, and Mia have all begun a resistance plot when they find a wisened and groggy Ash. Meanwhile Freddy wants total control and dominion and plans to take on Jason again. (This is starting to sound like a post LOTR Peter Jackson Film a lil bit)

Hand to God True Story! When I was going to college at SUNY Fredonia in 2002 Bruce Campbell came to give a presentation and talk about his book. He also mentioned that he was being asked about this project and said he would only do it if he won and had equal screen time. He also said that they were having an issue getting all three characters together and no one could figure out a way to do it. So... he does a Q&A and I opened by asking him if he would use the chainsaw or metal hand to fight Jason and Freddy. He really didn't know but then I said "Oh... it's easy to get all three of you together!"
So... In "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" it's shown that Freddy is actually a demon that posses a writer to tell a story which is the way it lives on... why can't it be a Kandarian Demon?!?! Ash goes to a Cabin right... why can't it be right next to Crystal Lake... Boom... done and easy! Bruce was actually like "Wow... that actually works; thanks!"

With exception to mentioning the ugly reason FT13th is unusable, also that in the comic the reason Jason "Randomly" had the Necronomicon is because it was what was used in Jason Goes to Hell. it wasn't random events that led them to meeting, it even says that the book minipulated reality & brought Ash to Camp Crystal Lake to prevent Freddy from using it to the extreme. Another is that they had also been working on the story for a long time confirmed by many sources involved & had teased the existence of one another in respected movies, a'e Jason goes to hell & Evil dead 2. But all the same always enjoy the videos! Never miss one! Which something had come of the series they started. I was pretty damn hyped for this film when it was released. Unfortunately for me in the present,I'm old enough to have already been a grown man at the time. And I wasn't let down, either. It had the right tone (in MY personal opinion,at least),it absolutely didn't take itself too seriously, and best of all,Jason won. Cuz I remember thinking at the time that Freddy was probably the more popular character,so I figured that either Freddy would win or it would just end in some kind of draw. It can be argued that it did,but come on! Jason won. He had appendages when it was all over. That's a pretty decisive advantage to have over any opponent.
I still love this film after all this time. It does have two major flaws that I've never REALLY moved past. Those being the absence of Kane Hodder and the presence of Ken Kurtzinger. Nothing against Kurtinger, but jeez, man! They could have at very least gotten someone who could compete with Kane on some level. I'm sure that Ken was just folllowing direction. Also, the guy looks like he could crush me with one hand,so I don't want to be TOO much of a dick about it.

There's no way to finish the film except Ash on top. He would essentially be the "Final Girl"
He is a protagonist. He has to come out on top. Once he's dead, he's dead. The other two can come back.
Also the main issue with getting the film rolling was New Line and Raimi not being able to agree on an ending. New Line didn't want Freddy to lose after having his head chopped off last time, even though we knew he was alive and well and had Jason in the dream world. Raimi wasn't going to budge on Ash dying, especially after what the character went through in his own story.
I don't know if any of you guys were on the Friday the 13th forums back in the 00s but it was all heavily discussed and Jeff Katz was a member that kept us all updated. Sadly the reboot of nightmare on elm street was a flop. They had good ideas just really poor direction and execution.
If I were writing a Nightmare on elm street film here’s what I would have done. I’d choose a character to start with a nightmare sequence. (Perhaps working in the iconic three little girls in white playing outside of the pre school) they wake up alone and afraid after being taunted and chased by Freddy. They talk to their six of their friends from school and one of them doesn’t believe the kid or their other friend who both say they are having the same dream because that kid hasn’t had dreams in years (the disbelieving kid isn’t having dreams at all because they are taking ptsd anxiety medication such as olanzepine, Risperidone, clonidine, gabapentin, or trazodone.) The other kid who admitted to having dreams is taking Aderol for ADHD and has been using it to stay awake. They all decide it’s not safe to sleep alone so they decided to have a sleepover. the first kid to have the dream is killed in brutal fashion! The aderol kid is the only witness because the other kids are asleep. They are all asked questions about what happened and ADHD kid is blamed as he was the only one awake and told such an unbelievable story. At the funeral of the kid who died the five remaining characters notice a couple of pictures of their friend as a baby being held by an older child. There is a child’s gravestone nearby that bears the same last name as their friend. They hear one of the other adults mention that the family lost two children in such a brutal way. The ptsd medicated kid looks around their house for old pictures of their friend and finds photos of a male kid she doesn’t recognize and a preschool or kindergarten photo with several kids with the same last names as her friends but were clearly older than them. (One of those names being the name of the child on the gravestone at the cemetery.) She asks her mother about the photo. Her mother brushes it off and tries to take the photo from her. She confronts her mom and says the boy has their last name but she’s never heard of him then demands to know why! Her mother finally admits that he is her older brother and he was murdered. She then tells her that she didn’t want her to be burdened with what happened because she was just a baby and was too young to remember him. She then gets mad at her mom and says that her brothers murder is Why she’s a drunk. She then brings the school photo to the four remaining friends and they all realize there are older kids with all their last names that they don’t know in the photo. During this ptsd girls med falls out of her purse when she goes to take it. They look up the names of the kids and stumble across them being murder victims and the trial of the school Gardener Freddy Kruger. It’s revealed that those kids were their older siblings who died when they were babies. They look up some of the other kids in the photo and all of their siblings recently died horribly (insert the video they showed of the kid who died on webcam and news articles) they realize that somehow Freddy is targeting the siblings of his victims for some reason. At some point in there ADHD kid is caught and put in a holding cell. One of the parents is a cop and the kids confront him about the trial and Freddie’s acquittal. The cop dad admits to the parents killing Freddy by burning him alive in a fire at his house. They were angry and wanted revenge. That kid gets mad because he let the kid believe they were nuts when they said they’d dreamt about Freddy! They storm out of the police station. They look up ways to fight sleep and stop Freddy where they see info about the kid’s aderol, learn about micro naps, and realize that the reason ptsd girl isn’t having dreams at all is because of her ptsd medication. The adhd kid is experiencing micro naps and can’t get his aderol. You think he’d be the next to die but no one of the other kids dies falling asleep behind the wheel (obviously in a Freddy nightmare.) that kid left after they disagreed on the proper course of action to take. Some of them want to take the PTSD medication, not dream, and forget about Freddy. Some of them want to take the fight to Freddy. The ptsd medication gets scattered everywhere during the argument and fight. The remaining three kids all go and visit the fourth kid in jail (cop kid manipulating their parent into letting them see adhd kid.) adhd kid is freaking out because they can’t stay awake anymore and they can’t get their medication. Adhd kid shows them that they pulled Freddy’s hat out of the nightmare during a micro nap. They realize that Freddy’s power comes from fear of him so Ptsd girl is their best bet of safely pulling him out of their dreams. She commits to doing it because she wants to face her brothers killer. After that she faces off with Freddy but fails to pull him out. One of The other remaining kids falls asleep but manages to pull Freddy out right before they die. They have the big showdown and the remaining three children taking back the fear and energy they gave him and presumably killing him. (And of course the final scare has to happen showing Freddy isn’t dead just weak.)

Comics looks great than Freddy vs Jason. I wish they make a sequel to Freddy vs Jason like comic books
