Each to their own but to me personally I just find him REALLY annoying and he takes away from the group.
@@phoenixreborn6065heâs usually unbearable but he was talking facts constantly in this
Theyâve burned out
They need a rebuild ASAP
Yup they have been class since 2017 now it's time to rebuild the squad
rebuild? lol they have spend way above man city in last 5 years.. When will the rebuild be completed?
JT was leading a team to a title in 2005 and part of the best defensive record ever. 10 years later he was still winning titles in the center of defence under Jose in 2015.
People let their hatred of the man cloud their judgment.
Those Chelsea teams parked the bus. Much easier to defend behind a parked bus.
@@MrSupplementScene The Chelsea team in 2005 parked the bus? Don't be silly. Just because you're good at defending, doesn't mean you're defensive. They blew teams away. Go and watch again pal.
@@Liam-fq7nc they didnât âblow teams awayâ. Chelsea in 04-05 scored 72 goals for an average of 1.89 goals per game. Teams that finished 4-5th in the PL scored more goals than that. If you're talking physical attributes in the past 4 seasons before this, Van Dijk is almost beyond comparison in strength, agility, and speed. But Brian is right, when all those start to fade, you see whether a defender is really smart or not. Players like Terry never had any pace or superhuman strength to lose, which makes him all the more impressive.
You have nailed it there
not really, terry played for Chelsea who always play a low block. Then went to villa and again they play a low block that suits him as he doesn't have to worry behind him. The style the team plays helps a player longevity wise big time.
@@HT008 I mean to say that is just to completely admit you never watched Chelsea when Terry played for us lmao

people forget Van dijk lost by 0.3% of getting the Ballond'or against Lionel Messi. Most complete defender I've seen in a long time. Guy at his peak literally had no flaw. Had passing, scoring, heading, clearance, tackles, containing, pace, composure, strength, agility, intelligence, calmness like wtf else do you want in a defender, he had it all at his peak. Then Pickford sliced him in two unfortunately
Would have been a straight up robbery if VVD had won it over the likes of Messi or Ronaldo.
VVD had an amazing peak, but he is one of the most overrated players of all time, the fact that people try to compare him with the likes of Rio, Vidic, Terry, Kompany, Cambell etc is absolutely insane.
Like for for sucks sakes, the man got comapred to Paolo Maldini and VVd has had what 1-2 seasons being unbeliveable.

Yeah itâs just a coincidence that his peak was when Klopp played 3 CDMsâŠand when Klopp got Keita and Thiago his peak also went away
I donât see it as just âone bad seasonâ for Virgil, I see it as only 3 good season compared to the likes of Terry, Rio, Kompany, Cahill, Vidic, who have all had at least 3+ good seasons
To be fair in every season he has been at a top club apart from this one (and the one he didn't play after the Pickford tackle) he has been world class, it's just unfortunate he had to take the long route to liverpool via celtic and saints. Let's see how the rest of his career pans out. Pretty sure when Liverpool's midfield is fixed with new signings he'll have less to clear up and get his confidence and self assurance back.
Man said cahil hahaha
@@NormanGilbert10 you seriously think Gary Cahill isnât a premier league great?
is that fair though? Did he not have a good season at Southampton before we bought him? it's unfair to say Virgil Van Djik has only been good for 3 seasons. Not only that, he reached the heights none of those players ever did. He was a few votes short of winning the Ballon d'Or. You can argue it was unfairly stolen from him by Messi that year. I think the difference was less than 10 votes. none of the above players achieved this.

Vidic, Terry, Kompany, Ferdinand, Desailly, and Stam all better than Van Dijk just to name a few. Never top 2 of all time lmao
Sol Campbell, Tony Adams, Ledley King too

Here's the thing. Van dijk in his best season is probably the goat, and better than any of them you mentioned for sure, but his peak only lasted two seasons. Its a matter of opinion on how you judge these things
Loving the new cast for TKO I still watch the other lads on the club but I think this new group brings some great dynamics too, would love to see KG on more for some United representation

Kompany definitely deserves the respect he's been getting, I'm noticing it from other top defenders though. One of the impressive bits about him that's never mentioned is how he adjusted to Pep's system. Kompany was always safety first under Manc and Pells, I have to say I was shocked to see him buy into Pep's philosophy of a wide centerback playing it out from the back. His technical ability seemed to rocket in that 2017-18 season, I was like wtf since when can he pass this well
The comment about them working so hard for the Quadruple last year and only getting the FA Cup and League Cup and then being shattered by that is so true.
They didn't even get a parade for winning that first league title because it was COVID lockdown times.

Yes! Klopp is great, but extremely stubborn. The best managers can adapt to the players' strengths.
I've never seen with another player ever, the way that Van Dijk used to literally put people off attacking against him.
Strikers would just give up, and he had that veil or aura around him that you just was going to come out 2nd best.
The only other time I felt that about a defender before was prime Nemanja Vidic in 1 or 2 seasons for man utd.
Yes, his career follows a pattern

The Van Dijk injury didn't stop him bring brilliant last season.
I think the injury isn't the main reason for his decline this season.
What is the reason then?
He's just putting the cogs in place again. Took him about 2 or 3 years first time round, now it's time to transition, it might take two or three years again, 1 year almost up. I bet its a steady imrovement from summer onwards provided the right two or three signings come in each window, with dominance again a year after that
The problem is hes trying to play same formation and tactics from 7 years ago. He needs to evolve but i dont hink he can
@@junioradult6219 That's not fair IMO, he's played all sorts of tactics in many seasons. He was full on gegenpressing first few seasons, but then he became more possession focused and really shut up shop amazingly well 2018-20. He will evolve more with new players and crucially with fans positivity and support rather than rage at every bad result. Remember that last minute draw and crowd salute at home to west brom? That would never happen today! That's the energy the fans need to bring, not the constant criticism of the board and particularly of club legends like Hendo. Honestly I think the new players just need to gel. I think Nunez and Gakpo are going to be serious players, and just haven't got over Mane leaving yet.
Villa fan here. We started the season abysmally under Gerard and basically have the same team that Dean Smith brought in yet we have turned it around, why? Because we have a manager who knows how to get best of the squad.
Food for thought :)
@Straight Outta Cornwall sure but Klopp has more credits in the bank than Gerrard or Smith! Yes, Emery doing a great job so far. But don't get too comfortable. There is pretty much no statistical significance in a new manager having a decent 15 game spell or however many it has been. All sorts of managers who turned out to be less than ideal have had such runs of form, even the likes of Ian Holloway at Blackpool, or Marco Silva etc
@@davyprendergast82 You cant fire Klopp. Hes not turned into a bad manager overnight but I think last season killed the team, way too many matches
I really think it's time for Trent to move up the field now, he's a natural midfielder. He's clearly struggling to get back and is targeted week in week out by almost every team we play against. As for his replacement I wouldn't mind seeing Gomez go there for a while, he's played better in that position than he has CB in the last year. Just my two cents on it
Hes not gonna work any harder in the mid which is what he would have to do. Everything trent is bad at in def he would still be bad at in midfield

Klopp is the man. I donât want him sacked. But if he was to be sacked , Iâd want Thomas frank as manager. I legit think heâd be a good fit
The way I see it, last season we did 2 seasons worth of work, so the trough from the highs of last season is understandable. It's also clear signing are needed for the rebuild to be complete. Watch out for us next season when that happens.
Most memorable moment for John Terry despite his cup wins, was when he slipped onto his arse taking that penalty against United in a penalty shoot out. đ

Spot on jordie.. when the legs go you then know how good a center back is
The points tally that Liverpool have had is unprecedented for a team that has not a ton of trophies. I do think itâll be remembered, especially if City gets busted for something.
Great to see the man himself Craig on here.. great analysis again guys đđ
There is a core of Liverpool players that can be in the second Liverpool team but there has to be adjustments. Alison, Robo, Virgil, Trent and maybe Mo. for me trent has to be in a midfield position. There is no way that tremt canât play in there. Heâs been one of our best players but teams have a blue print in him as a rb. Double up on him and run in behind that space he leaves open. The rest like Henderson, need to become squad players. They are good still good to start games but more than a game a week their legs fall off. There needs to be new blood and fresh legs in this squad. Itâs been coming now and Klopp has managed to keep this group of players going for a long time. We should have been investing in pervious windows and itâs finally turned on us and we havenât turned the days over quickly enough to stay at the top while rebuilding. Liverpool will get back there with Klopp but it might take another inconsistent season like this or slightly better than this one. Very frustrating
No one witha sense would compare bayern's squad with Liverpool . Bayern's completely different second string team is better than Liverpool's first team on paper
I dont know about this seasons bayern. They are no were close to as good as they use to be. Just like liv
Over reliance on the starting 11 while waiting for a crisis to emerge before making strategic signings.
I think the players have down toolsed tbh. No way they go from performing like they did last season to this season all at once. It's a manager thing.
Craig saying vvd is 2nd best defender in premier league history is wild đł
Deluded pool fans are always deluded, he is at best top 8
It's not about having 1 bad season. It's about the fact he didn't do it at the top level for as near as long as others.
His peak was great but it was short. For that reason the others where better.
It took him too long to get to the top level.
I do really believed that Klop will be happy to be sack,he looks like he don't have energy left to build another project.Comparing Poch to Klop team is mentally mad.
With a few suitable midfield signings in the summer, theyâll be back.
I think Klopp has âpeakedâ in terms of trying to work miracles without reliable funds. The league is getting a lot tougher, teams are getting stronger and thereâs new rich owners coming to rival clubs. Now, if FSG put their hands in their pockets and provide him with the steady funds he needs to renew the squad and add who he needs to improve the squad then I think there is no peak again and he can continue to do what he does best.
Liverpool are simply a boxer who have gone for all the belts wanting to be undisputed only to win 2 and lose 1 on a split decision and one on a last minute knockout. Mentally drained and that has them made them weak. No doubt in the summer they will get rid of so much dead wood (Naby, Ox, Milner, Firmino, Jones, Matip) sign 3/4 top class players (Nunes, Givarldol, Jude/Rice, Kone) and after a summer of rest come back flying again. If anything it would be better to miss out on europe altogether and just focus on the league next season.
Craig loves a name drop đ
It's basic Football Manager tactics. You can get away with a slower player if their positioning is good.
VVD has had a shocking season. Same for TAA.. Tell me something we don't already know. He isn't even delivering the assists for goals, sure he got an assist for Mo Salah. But, you can't compare it.
And Terry was very good.. For me the best..
JT played mostly in compact teams, whilst VVD is trusted to play 1 on 1, sometimes 2 on 1. There was a period of time where VVD was so imperious, no one took him on because they didn't want like kids playing against their dad. JT never had that. Then that prat at Everton had to go injure him. It was like someone taking a hammer to the statue of David.
These are the players who can actually look at themselves positively this season
For sure:
Alisson
Konate
Bajcetic
Elliot
Salah
Darwin
Maybe:
Gakpo
Robertson
Firmino
Everyone else in the squad has been dreadful and only 1 defender can 100% look at themselves and say âWell I havenât been that badâ and thatâs Ibou
Konate has been questionable this season
How are ya not mentioning Keith and chamberlain aswell the two members living in the medical room
The thing is about Terry is he never actually had any pace did he and look at what he won in his career and how long he was around aswell? I am a Liverpool fan myself and I hate to say it but but you have to put Terry and Ferdinand and kompany probably all above van dijk at this stage unfortunately but hopefully van dijk can get back to somewhere near the level he was previously but like Craig said he will still go down as one of liverpool best ever centre backs certainly in recent history in any case đ€Ł
Liverpool dont need to spend 150m on Bellingham, they need 5 or 6 30m players. Nevez and Ward-Prowse would be great signings to replace Ox, Milner, Keita. Someone like Walker-Peters to be a more defensive cover to Trent. Theres players available, players Klopp could improve
Theyâve not peaked under Klopp but his current team have. Team has aged, experienced players are now burnt out and their ability has faltered as a result. The sell to buy system they have has now come back to bite them. Left players too late to sell. They now have no resale value to buy quality in replacement. Big rebuild needed and itâs not a quick fix. Another transition season will occur but Iâm more than happy to give Klopp the next season. He deserves the time. End of.
I'd like see VVD actually organising at the back, now he just looks around and shakes his head, as if, it's not his fault,
van dijk simply does not sit at the same table as rio, terry, vidic
Defending was done higher up in attack and midfield, if they got past that, then Fabinho and Matip would step in before anyone got to VVD. VVD didnât have much defending to do, he was a glorified sweeper. Now the entire team and system is broken, he has much more defensive duties now so therefore his true abilities have been exposed.
FSG havenât invested in this squad properly over the yrs
I dont know why Klopp doesnt change to a 532 away from home, or 523. That would give TTA and Robertson some cover in behind but allow them to bomb on. Could keep two up top, with Elliot in the Mid 3, happy o help join the attack. Klopps trying to play his Gegenpress 1-00mph football without the players to play it.
Itâs not only the one bad season, itâs that heâs only had a few good ones and theyâre speaking like heâs on the level of Terry, Rio, etc who had a decade of those world class seasons. His athleticism is going which is exposing him now.
So much TAA slander, the manager must give him a certain amount of freedom to get forward to way he does. Why doesnât the manager have a midfielder on the right whoâs capable of covering TAA? This form canât all be down to TAA and the go to man to blame for the whole team.
Attitude, body language always thrown at certain players when teams ainât performing I.E Rashford, Sterling, whilst other players get off Scot-free
It's a difference wen u win everything. The players age, u need to bring fresh legs in the positions which are weak.Fsg need to splash the cash in the summer.
12:02 the truest and yet saddest thing about football fans
You can dislike Terry as much as you want, But he is top 3 PL Center backs of all time. Van Dijk is probably in The top 10 list, nothing more. 3 good seasons doesnt make you a goat. Terry has Van Dijk beat for heart, self sacrifice, longevity, leadership, effort, less injury prone, trophies, clean sheets ratio, ant not least of all, GOALS, JT scored 50+ goals as a Chelsea player. And I could go on. Football Ability wise Van Dijk is his equal at best, nothing moreâŠ
The spine is broken. We some of the best players in the world at GK, CB and ST. Fabinho was supposed to hold the midfield for another 2-3 years to allow for the next generation of players to come in. He has broken down unexpectedly, resulting in the breaking of the spine through the middle.
Ayyy Craig is here thatâs sick
Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Nemanja Vidic >Virgil van Dijk
Liverpool has been overachieving in my book. Considering what other teams have spent or invested in their squad. Now itâs time for FSG to splash the cash for a rebuild
Fsg splash the cash not with their budget
I'm a Liverpool fan, but Rio, Terry, Vidic & Konpany all get in a Prem XI before VVD. He's had the single greatest individual season amongst all of them but longevity and legacy matter. He has been honking this season, and has been getting bossed by forwards game after game recently. Talk about losing a step etc he's 31. Not exactly an age we're you consider a centre half would be passed it, especially given that he keeps himself in great shape.
What's infuriating, and the same was said of Trent, because of the lax demeanour in which they carry themselves, unless they are playing well they offer little to the tram and is obvious to see. Where as with Robbo, Matip etc they will at least run themselves in to the ground and their frustration is obvious, they can't hide it.
Everyone knows rechargeable batteries have a shelf life. Klopp cannot go on recharging originally home-made battery packs.
The players under Klopp have come to an end. The rebuild has started with the front three. The mid field and defence needs the rebuild
Anyone know where I can get proper football kits and official team gear in the Premier league? From Canada...wanna get a Chelsea t-shirt

Players like Van Dijk, Arnold, Fabinho, Matip, Henderson, Firmino and even Salah have peaked, not Klopp. I donÂŽt get this, you expect him to perform miracles with a finished squad, he needs money to rebuild, give him that and heÂŽll be on top again.
Arnold hasn't
@@usernameloading4695 i think Liverpool needs better, he canÂŽt defend to save his life.
For me, as great as Van Dijk was, the injuries have taken away what made him great. I know the whole team is in a bit of a mess but I donât see him getting close to the levels he was at even if they address midfield, TAA gets back to form etc.
He lacks the defensive intelligence of a Terry or even a Ferdinand or Kompany who also relied somewhat on their speed/power. The Italian defenders like Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Baresi etc all played at a world class level deep into their 30s. They mastered the defensive fundamentals so never had to rely on their psychical attributes. I think it was Maldini who said if you have to make a sliding tackle youâve already made a mistake. Van Dijk doesnât seem to possess this.
Sacking Naggelsmann isnât harsh. The league title race last season was way too close with Bayern barely winning by just 2 points. Really shouldnât be that close. Then this year theyâre sitting in second and thereâs literally no good reason that Bayern should be in second place this late into the season. Especially to a Dortmund team thats this average. Yeah he was only a point off first but the fact that there is even a reasonable chance that they might not win the league is unacceptable. Thereâs a massive gap between them and the rest of league and the table should reflect that
we need young hungry box to box midfielders and another cb
Terry
Ferdinand
Kompany

That's my list, it might be controversial, I only saw three of them for multiple seasons but I know of how good some of these guys were. I'm sure I'm missing a few off the top of my head that might crack the list but that's it at the moment
Stam for me is probably the best the Premier League has seen 3 Premier Leagues in 3 seasons and treble in his first. People seem to forget how amazing Stam actually was.
Adams above Kompany
Vidic below VVD
, and you got it right
The most notable thing to note is that klopp hates skill. Gets rid of wijnaldum, mane and minamino. Converts fabinho into an unskilled player. Uses Trent as a rb when he has no ability to defend. Keeps bland useless players like ox, Jones, Keith etc. Does not change tactics when his system does not work this season. The clear pattern is low on tactical and technical nous.
Ledley King was a better consistent defender than Van Djik is. Saying John Terry was better is an understatement.
The lad in the blue shirt who is suggests Klopp should be questioned about a potential sacking has totally lost the plot. Sorry, but that's the hard truth. He says the Liverpool manager should be coming in at least the top 4 at "one of the biggest club's in the world", and compares the situation to Bayern sacking Nagelsmann looool
Ok let's break that brain numbing nonsense down. First off, Klopp has overseen and created the most successful period at Liverpool in THIRTY years. Let's not belittle that. PLENTY of managers have come and gone in that 30 years and none of them managed to win the league with Liverpool, most haven't even come close. Klopp has brought the league title back to Anfield. But in truth it could have been 2-3 league titles as Liverpool made several fantastic runs at it. Only to fall just short because those Man City sides were putting up 100 points per season which is extremely rare, and leaves the other contenders practically zero room for error. But that's just from a league perspective. Klopp has also won the UCL and taken Liverpool to 3 UCL finals, which is TRIPLE the amount of UCL finals that Pep has taken Man City.
Klopp has resurrected Liverpool from the ashes. Again, this is the club's most successful era in over 30 years. Furthermore he did this on a relative budget. With the exception of Allison and Van Dijk, Liverpool didn't really pay top money for any of their stars. Klopp created them. He took players like Salah and Mane and turned them into world beaters. Same with Trent and Robertson. He took players people considered finished or not good enough like Milner and Henderson and made them valuable pieces.
The comparison to the Nagelsmann situation is delusional and not relevant in the slightest. As Klopp has lots of credit in the bank, not only for turning around Liverpool and winning lots of titles with them, but also for doing the same thing at Dortmund in his previous job. That's TWO big clubs he helped bring back to prominence. What has Nagelsmann done in comparison? NOTHING. Not only that, but Liverpool are going through a transition season. Unlike Bayern, they are NOT the biggest spenders in their league. Hell, they're not even the 2nd highest spenders. Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea have all outspent them during Klopp's tenure. And maybe even Arsenal although I'm not sure about that one. The EPL as a league is superior to the BL as well. Teams that finish 2nd in BL like Dortmund, Leipzig or Union Berlin would have a hard time finishing top 6 in the EPL. There are 4, 5 maybe 6 teams in the EPL which are essentially super clubs of modern football. It's not the same in Germany. So finishing top 4 in EPL isn't a given for Liverpool or whoever. It's literally easier for Bayern to win their league than it is for an English club to finish top 4 with the only exception being City
Liverpool with limited resources were trying to keep up with City who have spent over a billion and most likely broken multiple FFP rules. The fact they won a league and a CL is amazing. We lost the league twice by a point, we had points totals that would have won the league in almost every PL season. If it werent for City Klopp would have had at least 3 Premier Leagues.
Truth you can't have American investors taking on oil titans
Claiming that Virigl is second best defender in PL history is insane, it might be a bit less insane while he was still at his peek but right now it looks like he is a player who had a very high peek which lasted pretty short period...
Van dijk is not the second best PL defender ever. He's not even in the top 5. He only has one premier league title ffs
JT won 5 PLs, the difference between the first and 5th was 10 years. You can't dismiss that kind of longevity at the top for a player who had 4-5 seasons at World Class level and missed two of them with injuries. VVD is a great player but not ahead of JT in PL all time greats
2:11 anyone else thinking what the fuck is he talking about?
Horror take on vvd
How?
â@@robbiecale3327has never been better than john terry, to put him as the second best PL defender ever is an insult.
@@satiricalhaz-homeofbanter4371 him and Terry are the all time PL back two
â@@usernameloading4695 Don't be stupid.
@@usernameloading4695 he's won one PL title mate, are we really just going to discount ferdinand, vidic, campbell and kompany who've all won more titles and enjoyed a longer prime. You're not the 2nd best PL defender ever if you were still playing for southampton at 26.
Defending for park the bus Chelsea isn't the same as defending for Liverpool with all out attack suicidal highline tactics
If you could make a perfect Cb in their prime itâs van dijk even this season he pocketed Haaland in the community shield and at anfield
Liverpool's midfield is absolutely shocking, the worst I've seen it since the Poulsen/Spearing/Shelvey era.. If Klopp doesn't at least experiment with playing Trent as a number 8 now then I don't think he ever will.
Trent wont help the def in the slightest. Will just be the same holes in midfield
You want to compare Nagelsmann time at Bayern with Klopp at Liverpool.
Liverpool was not a winner or a second place before Klopp, Bayern essentially wins the Bundesliga when they want. They slack a bit at the beginning of the year, but its always in the bag.
Liverpool under Klopp can rebuild anytime, Klopp in team like Bayern, City, Madrid, Barcelona... it's over for everyone else.
Crazy that they got Chris Smalling to join the talk show.
