A Model Railway From Scratch - 32: Sutton's Loco Works Class 24 Experiment

- Apologies for the long delay since my last video - there's been a lot going on!
In this video I take a look at the SLW Class 24 Experiment (97 201), this version has on-board sound & a stay alive capacitor. It's not really a review - I'll leave those to better modellers!
It's a superb model in every way and, although rather expensive, I cannot recommended it enough.

Great video Grant, great to see your still modelling albeit at a slower pace, huge fan of your layout, channel and videos so hope to see more soon but fully appreciate work and home life and this is a hobby 👍

Stunning detail, and she runs so smoothly. She is going to look cracking running around on the layout in the future. Unfortunately the only model train layout i have ever had was when i was a kid, all straight dc back then. I remember it was almost impossible to get a loco to run really slowly without it jerking and stalling all the time. DCC really did change the hobby in a big way. Have missed your videos, Grant, have been wondering how things were coming along. Yours is such an adventurous track plan, really am looking forward to the future of the layout. All the best, Steve.

I think i sickened myself a bit with the size of my trackplan & then the electrical problem, still working on it but very slowly now.

It's a lovely loco alright, I was tempted but I couldn't justify the money for another with a Deltic and 37 on order... 🤯 kind of wish I had now. I'll just have to make do with my Bachmann version of Experiment until I win the lotto.
I know what you mean about just sitting and listening to it. I really hope Sutton do another loco sooner than later, maybe a class 20, what do you think.
