So now you both would take a Type R over the N? Last video you both said the complete opposite lol. Seems like whatever car your in at the time you like better 😂. Idk their both amazing hot hatches. However with a $400 tune the type r actually loses to the N in a race(car wow video) as well beating it on some tracks. Im not trying to say the N is the better car at all, they're very close. I personally chose and just picked up a 2020 N bc I loved everything about it and being able to adjust all the setting *on-the-fly* is just awesome (that Alot of more expensive cars can't do!). Plus I was able to grab a brand new Performance Package trim for under $30k otd(paid cash). I also have a red Srt-4 with only 75k miles and its very clean. Have a hard time which one I want to drive all the time. Have had mazdaspeed 3, wrx, 3 gti's,, acura tl type s, 2 srt's(2nd one currently own) and my last car a Fiesta st. I went back to the srt4 after all of those for a reason 😏. The fiesta was fun but I was constantly having overheating issues at just 50k. So when are you guys reviewing a 2020 N and say you'll take one over an R again? Haha, nah I think it's best to just say they're both amazing hot hatches and either one ya choose your not in the wrong. Can't beat the 3yr free scheduled maintenance and better warranty I got though 😁

1) you can turn off the right signal camera
2) turn on walk away feature, and you do not have to press the black button to lock it. Just walk away from the car
exactly, they told the same for regular civic, but you can turn off camera and turn on walk away too.
i dont trust that feature because i own a 2018 and sometimes the car doesn't lock you have to manually lock it SOMETIMES. i always click the button

Pumped in audio is pretty much the dumbest thing ever in automotive.
I rather have a totally muted factory exhaust than pumped in audio.
Or just get a louder exhaust? Gonna be cheaper cuz no computer/speaker for pumped in and less muffler design

first thing I did with my MK7 GTI was have them turn off the pumped in audio.

@@omieatieh3996 seats lock you in. Very dialed in experience and control of the car, and it’s practical yet has some kick to it.
This is the best channel for car reviews. Fun and informative, with awsome camera work and editing (love the music). It's like watchning your friend's video. The only bad thing about watching this channel is that you get the urge to change your car, more often than your wallet can handle
2 years of daily CTR driving. If you don't mind the styling it checks every box. A blast to drive, so much space, and it's relatively good on gas! Nothing quite compares.
Does it come with annoying rev hang from factory. My si drove me nuts with that.
@@cleanmachineautodetailing I have the 2018 CTR and a 2019 Si. Both rev hang, but it really isn't an issue if you're not sitting there with your clutch pushed in after up shifting. Was weird at first but with a small change to engage your next gear immediately it has never really been noticeable unless I try to force it.
I gotta say, I have been driving my 2019 Honda Civic EX Hatchback for over a month now and I LOVE IT! It’s so much fun to drive, looks great, future proof, great stereo, and so much more! If you want to get a civic I can almost guarantee that you will be more than happy!!
I drive a 2007 GT3 RS. Some exhaust mods (dropped 60 pounds, and engine breathes so much better), some rear suspension upgrades, and a tune, otherwise stock. Just had it out with a Honda R on an open freeway. Damn. That car is fast. We were even at some fairly high speeds, and then I backed off just to be a bit sane. But super impressed with the speed on that beast.

Love daily my 2017 type r … it handles like a beast. No 2nd grind on mind etc and I have 82k miles. Wouldn’t change a thing. Stock is perfect

I loved my 3rd generation 1984 silver 4 door civic, 3rd generation that included a facelift. Great snow car with a set of Hakkapelittas.

As someone with 3 legs, I can confirm that rev matching in the Civic Type R is quite easy.
Really wanted to buy a late 2021 model, but the markups were insane here in Germany:
The MSRP was around 42,5k€, but the dealers were selling them for 45-50k! I ended up buying an i30N DCT Facelift (the model we get instead of the Veloster N), which had the same MSRP of around 42k, but got it for 36,7k.
The moment I saw this video on my feed, I clicked it. I have no idea why, considering I already recently bought a 2020 Type R. Love the thing so much I still watch reviews on it.
I always wait for new videos from this channel. IDK why, but it push nice quality content.
Replying to the door handle button- my 2018 Type-R has "walk-away" door locks you can turn on in the (horrendous to navigate) system settings.

The Type R’s sold in the UK do not have those visors that extends to cover the back of the side windows... I wonder why...
We talked to a very high up interior designer in Germany and his excuse was the curved roads in Europe so the sunlight always changes
TheStraightPipes which is a good point but also seems like a EXTREMELY easy way to save money (even though very little per car) they should just give us extendable visors.
This was the first thing I tried when I got my fk8. Talk about an anticlimax :(

I do like the refreshed vents on the rear bumper. The other exterior styling changes don't do much for me. I prefer the smaller front grill of the older one, though I understand it was a functional improvement making it bigger.
As a Honda fan, I am very hyped about the Type R. As a diehard Honda fan, I can't wait for the new 2022 Type R!

I bought my 2018 Civic Type R after watching the first set of Type R videos from the straightpipes. I watched this video this morning with my baby daughter.
The civic Type R is also an excellent baby hauler.

For many vehicles; the synthetic exhaust can be canceled by pulling a fuse. I don’t know about Honda, but my Ford F-150 Ecoboost is an easy fuse pull & no more faux exhaust noise.

Was driving my mom's civic the other day and I noticed something I hadn't seen any other car do. I had navigation on using Android Auto and the gauge cluster navigation view was actually showing the turn arrows which is amazing. The past 5 cars I had were Audi and VW and none of them did that. My current Golf R will only show navigation arrows if I use the built-in nav system
I just assumed all cars didn’t show arrows on HUD while using maps on carplay or android auto but that is great to know 👍🏼

I wanted this car soo badly but since it did not come to my country so I settled with a Renault Megane RS 280 EDC. And I'm happy with my megane rs :).

I own a type R and like the Mégane as well, Renault are pretty good at making hot hatches. Where do you live that Honda didn't sell the type r? I thought it was pretty much global
@@thegoalie5233 I live in middle east and they don't sell it here on GCC becoz most ppl drive SUVs like land cruiser, lx570s etc. And only 5 units came here to GCC and owning one here feels like owning a hypercar becoz of that rarity ;).

Great review, guys! Bought my 2018 new in Champ White. I'll probably never own a better car. It goes like stink and doesn't break. No gear crunches in mine. Don't care about AWD, and the infotainment system is good enough for me. You seem to love this car almost as much as I do, which is saying a lot. As for taking off the wing...really? where's your sense of humor? Sure it's outrageous, that's the whole point. Keep up the great work!

@@RyGuyRy The Husband and I had one 05 in stone white put 237K on that car it was a fun car for sure Dodge missed the mark with the Dart many were hoping it would of been the next SRT4 but no.Dodge needs to have a new compact turbo car not everyone can afford or wants a Challenger or charger.

The issue of the type r some people had been complaining is overheating in the track especially in the 17 and 19 models, so an aftermarket cold air intake is worth to cool it down and give more horsepower

Agreed, the only car I would ever consider trading my Type R for would a Nissan GTR and even then I have never driven a GTR so I may hate the Paddle Shifters and heavy weight of the GTR. I was hooked on my first Type R test drive, within 1 minute I was whipping through traffic on the highway like a pro. Auto rev match is awesome.
@@cybercityoedo808 Sweet! The first time we drove our Type R was when we bought it. We were able to find one over an 1 hour away from our home and handled all the paperwork over the phone. We did not want to loose it and bought it sight unseen. Based on my research and reviews we knew it would drive like a dream and when we finally drove it home we were not disappointed even after having to baby it for the first 600 miles. Enjoy!
I still love my 2019 Type R! It's a great car, so quick and gets so much attention. I love the room it gives for my son's car seat and so much crap when I run to Walmart in it. It's truly the perfect dad mobile until they make and Accord Type R or an Odyssey Type R...which I definitely would buy:) Make it happen Honda!
Honda hack, get a rear double bench & dual seatbelt buckle from the lower spec model and bolt it in to the type R and there u go 5 seater

I have a 2019 WRX and every time I see a review for this car.. I want one. I think the STi and Type R we’re about the same price that year, too.
I cross shopped them. Ended up getting the STi and don't have any regrets. The dealer wanted a premium above MSRP and I personally preferred the driving experience of the STi. If I were tracking all of the time, I would have went Type R though for it's worth.
After my 2015 STI broke down with a blown motor, I got a Type R. There are only 3 things I miss about it: The boxer sound, the hydraulic steering rack and 4-wheel-drive launches.
Everything else is, in my opinion, a better experience in the Type R.
@@m00hk00hdo any snow driving in the Type-R? I had to pick between a 2018 Focus RS, Type-R and Sti. I went with the RS and absolutely love it. I daily it all year round and in drift mode with TCS off it's crazy fun in the snow. Type-r with winter tires wouldn't be too bad but does it have an actual ebrake handle, or is it a switch?
@@stevem1362 Parking brake is electronic but it has a "brake hold" function. It keeps on the brakes until there is torque on the clutch when activated. Helps to get going in the snow, never had trouble.
I used to have a 2017 STI, now have a 2019 Type R. I really miss my STI sometimes but not because performance it was the nostalgia... but the Type R is way better in performance when it is dry out. I may get an older STI later on down the road but Type R is my forever car.
When I see a CTR, I click like before watching the video.
I’ll never understand the problem that people have with the side camera, it’s so useful for checking my blind spot
I disabled the induction noise. So much better. At first I was ok with it but then I couldn’t drive r+ mode anymore until I found out I could disable it. It just was so high pitched but now I’m always on R+ mode. The kids are never late for school.
So you guys can just blink twice, but do people have NDA dates in hand for the 2021 Elantra, or is everyone still waiting for anything more on that one?
This was my 2nd choice after the GT350. Maybe I can get one as a daily in a few years
