The VW Up! actually has a long life timing belt on it because of its slightly off rounded cam gears, meaning it only tensions the belt when required for valve action. The belt is meant to last the life of the vehicle (being an Up, that was probably meant to only be 5 years).
VW themselves have no scheduled maintenance reporting on it, just inspection for wear.

As someone who owns a dealership I can say that a small hatchback (Polo & Fiesta size) with 4/5 doors in a “normal” color such as white, grey and black is easier to sell than a red/blue car. Also as low mileage as possible with full servicebook helps the price go up. Maximum of 10 years old (not quite sure how it is in the UK with financing a car) so it’s easier for people to get it financed.

@@Jay-jf6yq Yeah, people will show up wondering what's wrong with the door and when they say it's a replacement they'll think it has been T-boned and won't want to touch it.
Or they'll look at the photos, see it as the same colour, see it as different in person, and if they think the photos were edited, they'll report the ad like they did with the Corsa.

I bought white one moveUp! 1.0 60hp, 4doors from 2013 with 144k km, that was hit several times from back, no structural damage just bumpers and mirrors replaced and side scratched, painted (very bad) on both sides (after those rear hits), costed me with all the fixes and stuff 3500e, and can sell it immediately for 4000e. People just want to buy them. The company I bought Up! from had several of these little shitboxes, one a bit older with 260k km and still going. Nice city car and definitely not so bad on highway, for two persons or 2 plus 2 small kids. The only car that is way more expensive is Fiat 500. My friend recently sold 2009 for 4800e which is insane by all standards here.
