#JonathanRoss #DenzelWashington #Equalizer3
One of the most intriguing revelations of the interview was Mr. Washington's dedication to his craft. He opened up about his incredible physical transformation, gaining an impressive 40 pounds for his latest role in "Pelham 123." In his characteristic humor, Denzel shared, "Every wife wants their husband to be plump." It's a testament to his commitment to his roles.
Denzel also spoke highly of his co-star in "Pelham 123," John Travolta. He praised Travolta's ability to portray compelling antagonists, calling him "a good bad guy" and highlighting his sweet and genuine personality off-screen.
The conversation took a heartfelt turn when Denzel expressed his passion for sports and his dream of becoming a professional athlete. He shared, "I'm living it through my son; I'd have loved to have gone professional." This glimpse into his personal aspirations and family connection adds depth to our understanding of the acclaimed actor.

Denzel, Sam Jackson and Christoph Waltz together in a Tarantino movie. Now that's boxoffice gold and Oscar worthy !
Duh. Captain Obvious 😂
Who is Sam Jackson?
@@humanforotherhumans o_O that guy
@@humanforotherhumansSeriously?
Put Morgan Freeman in as well
Every time you hear Denzel in n interview, he just oozes class
Because you've never seen him in person or been around him in person as I have he's a prima donna
"oozes" seems like the wrong word.
some creepy stuff too, living his football dream threw his son and making his wife cook every meal for him lol he seems like a control freak
Look he is a class act for sure
@@richardbrown9025 good lord man, one he's very very proud of his family, so yes you live through your child in a positive way & "making" no he loves his wife's cooking and rather have her food then a chef in his home. Creepy??
"I'm not hiring a chef, I want my wife's cooking!" 🥰
And She was like, "I ain't hiring him for you, it's for me !! "
Denzel has always carried himself like a true gentleman. I can only imagine how cool a Tarantino film featuring him would be.
Well Tarantino did some script rewriting on Crimson Tide, so in a sense they've rubbed shoulders on a movie
Can you see Washington playing the caricatures Tarantino has in his films?
So that Tarantino can use the N word on him as Jimmie Dimmick(Aka the character he created for himself in Pulp Fiction) ?🙄
@@TheHonestGuy24 that one hasn't aged well and tbh was a bit in your face at the time
@@TheHonestGuy24 Seems you have an opinion that runs deeper than me giving him the due respect and admiration. Why even go there?
He was robbed of an Oscar in "Malcolm X" and "Fences".
I agree. He was absolutely brilliant in Fences!!!!!!!!! 👍
And about 4 to 5 other films
He is so much better than the thieves who steal a man like him from themselves. Cruel but I'm sure it's much better than an Oscar even if it hurt his heart. Everyone who loves this wonderful man and actor knows why he missed out on this award. He is forever in our memories. For ever.
And Hurricane another true story
Unbelievable actor, i agree he was robbed, but can they let him everytime
Now Denzel Washington is one of the few genuine STARS.
His woman supports him, and it's obvious. I enjoy hearing him bring her into his conversation.
Yes true man.
"I'm not eating anybody else's food, I'm eating my wife's food" - Denzel Washington.

This is deep on so many levels, you probably find it difficult to comprehend. The conviction behind how he made that statement is why he is a shining light in a world of darkness
thats what i call soul food, love is put in it and taste shows it
"Training Day" is one of the best films ever made
His Alonzo character is right up there beside Pacinos Tony Montana.
King Kong aint got shit on Training Day, even whit all their special effects
I thought it was the usual Hollywood crap,Malcolm x was the one he should have got the Oscar for
Man on Fire, love that movie hmm I love comeuppance movies, he was a Hammah in that one.
Yes
Denzel Washington teaches humanity about how to be a class act. Legend.
Not so classy, I was passing by his home once and I could see him trying to hang a large picture, when he accidentally hit his thumb with the hammer I heard him say a word I'm not going to repeat here. Class my ass.

Very good looking here
Saw him on Broadway. Even better looking in person
Fascinating

How time flies...This was back in 2009 when JDW was 25 and he's 39 now... And he's a star now and had to let go of American Football...
The title of the video is misleading - there is no confrontation. Both men are one of the world's best in their craft and are true gentlemen. The host put them on the spot a bit and they handled it extremely well. Respect!
Most times, the titles are misleading. I just clicked on it cause it's Denzel
Denzel has always conducted himself with grace
Denzel is the definition of pure class as it gos in Hollywood these days- 🤝
"You don't see a U-Haul behind a hearse."

@13:00 Quentin question. Great interview. A search shows that Denzel had an argument with Tarantino during filming of Crimson Tide in 94, calling dialogue he added racist. In 2002 Denzel apologized to him and they settled it. This interview was in 2009. By the filming of Django in 2011, Denzel’s daughter worked as an editorial PA on the set, according to him in 2012. However, the two still haven’t worked together by the time of my comment in fall of 23.
Doing gods work with the time stamp. thank you.
Been looking for this. 🙏
Thank you
Quentin is smart to not work with Denzel. I’ve worked with him on set, he’s problematic, has a temper and his ego and narcissism is always above all the rest. Just ask the original director for training day which Denzel got him fired and the Davis was the one who brought Denzel into the spot might, ask Davis if he’s a good person. He would say otherwise.
@@cameraofchaoshollywoodI don't believe that at all. I think Quentin would be honored to work with Denzel just like he said.
Denzel Washington, is not only is a top talented actor, but he's a God fearing man that possesses the utmost quality of integrity. His honesty commands respect, and defines the wonderful human being that he is. He is by far one of my favorite person in the world. that's how much i respect him for what he stands for, and how he lives his life.
That's the exact same thing they said about Bill Cosby.
Didn’t he also support and clap for Will Smith after Will assaulted a man on live TV?

One of if not the best actor of all time and a great person as well. That’s a RARITY!!
When my kids asked me who my favorite actor is, I said Denzel. They said "why?" Then I showed them Man on Fire (they're not ready for Training Day yet). It convinced them. For reference, the other two actors in my top 3 are Leo and Sam Jackson. And if I had to round off a top 5, let's throw in Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks. But Denzel will always be #1 for me.
Edit: for female actresses, Meryl, Julia, Kidman, Salma, and Winslet. Not that I need put them in a separate category because of gender, I just relate more to the male actors I guess.

@@michiveritas1420 Training Day is way more violent, plus Eva Mendes goes full frontal, etc. And the story itself would just fly over their heads. This hasn't aged well. This was back when Hollywood insiders and mostly everyone else was still in a deep lull, having been sold by the media that Obama and the previous admins were decent. Now Denzel has opened his eyes to many things and has a much different point of view of the Obamas and how they duped much of the population. Though it would still be interesting to see Denzel portray the dark side of the administration and the former president, that he now is aware of.
Denzel is all-in on being a Husband, and it helps that he has as dedicated a wife. He and his family are a great example and inspiration, and all the more special considering the average Hollywood Star.
A pure Gentleman in every sense of the word. An American Treasure.
Denzel proving right here that one cannot buy class and charisma, and he has loads
He was the perfect actor to portray Malcolm X. Congratulations Denzel!
Yes! AWESOME film and he shouda won an Oscar
@@mojo2679 He was the perfect age to play Malcolm when they made it. As great as a younger Denzel would've been to play Barack Obama, I think he's aged out of that role since he's older than Barack. And you'd want a younger actor to play the younger years of Barack. And I know Denzel has been in great shape in his younger years I don't think he could slim down enough to play Obama.
Since this was taped, Denzel’s son John David has gone on to become a major star in his own right. It must run in the family!
Denzel is such a class act.
Denzel is my favourite actor of all time. Love all his films. He comes across as a wonderful family man and a decent, repectable ,generous and kind human being. Much love and respect to him, his wife and his talented family. ❤🎉

The most laid back I seen him in an interview. Spewing suaveness and wit
You can criticise Woss all you want, but note how understated he was on this one. There was a genuine connection between these two fellas...
Was thinking "Denzel's looking good for his age" then realised this is actually 14 years old
When HD started kicking in , it's difficult to judge when footage was recorded.

I rarely get sentimental and wussy, but how sincerely he meant it when he said his wife makes the best food and he won't eat any other food... that is really "dude romance" right there.
there will never be another Denzel, pure class, one f the best actors around and devilish good looking gentleman, Id go see him open an envelope.
I drove past Broadway in NYC in heavy traffic, I saw a crowd of a 100 plus gathered around steps going into a Broadway theater. This man stood there laughing and talking with fans. Shaking hands and just being content to spend the time. I was stuck in traffic for better then 15 minutes on that block, he was still there as I pulled off.
Brilliant interview. Kept him close to home then slowly started to get him to unwind. Follow up with script-questions about the movie/promotion. Then, when he's feeling it, have fun with goofy, organic conversation. Relaxed and laughing together. Absolutely brilliant way to use the time and production style.
I was thinking the same thing. Well done for someone that has been interviewed a lot.
Yeah he was great with the guests it was a mystery why the bbc axed the show.
@@happyapple4269look up Sachsgate, I think that was why
@@happyapple4269 He couldn't keep up with Graham Norton's virality. The nature of Norton's show (panel style interview) makes it easy for him to create "viral moments" that they can upload and get easy views, Ross never managed to manufacture that. James Cordon copied the style for his US show, actually, which is the only reason he coasted as long as he did.
@@happyapple4269Culture and showbizz changed. Watch an interview with Lady Gaga and Ross and see what I mean. Gaga despises this white man who makes sexist jokes. Ross is exactly what modern culture despises and Norton is what they love. So artists would rather go to Norton.

Although Denzel and Tarantino haven’t directly worked together before, Tarantino wrote the script for Crimson Tide, so they have a connection
I believe, if rumours are correct, this is why they likely won't work together. Read somewhere that Denzel gave Quentin a dressing down on the set of Crimson Tide over the use of certain racially-charged language in his movies.

@@billking1751 I heard two stories which I'm pretty sure are true that may or may not be related to each other:
The first is that frequent Washington collaborator Spike Lee had become aware of * "Pulp Fiction" and called producer Harvey Weinstein because he had an issue with Tarantino, a white man, employing the use of the word "nigger". This rankled Trantino because Lee had gone to Weinstein with his problems instead of coming to him.
The second is that Washington confronted Tarantino over his use of the word while the two of them where on the set of "Crimson Tide" **.
* I'm a little fuzzy on the timeline of events, so I don't know whether Lee had seen an early cut of the film or read the shooting script. I do know that "Pulp Fiction" was released theatrically in 1994, which would have been around the time that "Crimson Tide" was in production, as it came out a year later.
** Tarantino did some uncredited script doctoring for "Crimson Tide", which was helmed by True Romance director Tony Scott. Hunter's reference to The Silver Surfer is widely believed to be an addition made by Tarantino.
