Are you a veteran struggling to get your VA disability claim approved? One crucial factor that can make or break your case is the Nexus letter. In this video, we discuss the importance of sourcing Nexus letters from doctors within your state to increase the likelihood of your claim being accepted by the VA.
The VA often rejects Nexus letters from out-of-state doctors, believing they are not familiar with your treatment history. To avoid this pitfall, we recommend:
Requesting Nexus letters from your current treating doctors, if possible.
If you need to use a paid Nexus letter service, ensure they have doctors licensed in your state.
By following these guidelines, you can strengthen your VA disability claim and improve your chances of receiving the benefits you deserve. Don't let an out-of-state Nexus letter be the reason for a denied claim.
Watch this video to learn more about the crucial role Nexus letters play in your VA disability claim and how to ensure yours meets the VA's expectations.

@@SpaceRanger187 For PTSD that is exactly what I did. It was zoom sessions, but those doctors gave me a diagnosis. The nexus letter was just a second set of eyes, which reviewed the records and provided, based on existing evidence, a third party medical opinion. It enhances the claim, IMO. For my upcoming claim, I already have diagnosis from in state doctors who physically examined me. I see no reason why a nexus letter who isn't claiming they examined me, but examined the evidence I provided from doctors who did would be denied.

My VA primary care doctors, both mental health and physical health doctors said they cannot will not write a letter of opinion ( nexus letter).
I have recently talked to them And two VSO's here in Michigan.
The VSO's both say they cannot are not allowed to write letters of opinion (Nexus letters) because VA administrative directives forbid them to do so.

Hi, just watched your video on wasting money for getting a NEXUS letter. I've talked to many physicians about getting a NEXUS letter and 98.99% have never heard of it and have no idea how to write one. And honestly I've never heard of it until I started looking/watching videos that are indicated the importance of having one. I spent 10 years (1963-1873) in the Army and 22 years in the VA Hospital setting before having to get a Medical Retirement due to my Back and feet disabilities while in the military. All those experts want you to have them secure you a NEXUS letter and write you information that will get me 100% due to unemployability. Is there anyone that provides help for veterans without charging an arm and a leg???? Thank you, at the age 79 I don't have many years left on this earth and would like to have my 100% P&T in place of Unemployability for my wife's benefits. Thanks would appreciate any help that doesn't make me have pay, we should be an outfit of Veterans helping Veterans!

VA does not follow its on manuals, rules or whatever. No matter if the nexus letter is in state or out of state.
They will deny your claim either by completely ignoring your nexus letter or giving more weight to the C&P examiner that has 2-3 years of experience and is a NP. Also don't forget when they perform an ACE or medical records review the doctor in most cases does not reside in your state but they do have access to your C-file. Best bet is higher level review hoping to get a rater that knows how to do their job, submit an appeal.. or spray and pray......

Here is the issue with what you are telling folks. Most regular doctors don't know anything about Nexus letters, don't know how to fill them out, and don't feel comfortable trying to link an issue today to when you were in. The fact we even need these things is down right insulting. I mean, for instance, I'm about to claim Sleep Apnea and its tied to my back and needs problems that occurred while I was in service. Anyone who knows what's wrong with my body already should be able to see that wow he's not able to exercise any more without being in severe pain we can understand how he has gotten heavier since he left service which has led to him getting sleep Apnea. I don't need to be a doctor to come up with this link but for some reason, the VA doesn't want to trust its service members and now we are forced to pay for nexus letters because our regular doctors won't link the two.

Isn’t this a “service” you do and get paid for? Not being facetious, I think you make some of the most informed and informative VA vids on YT. Others seems to get lost in the weeds and minutiae.
What I have learned is a guide and template with verbiage, codes and case law that compelling show your claim is due to or more likely or a secondary condition to a service connected claim, caused by my service. That way it is veteran self prepared. The hard part of the whole process is decoding the VA’s codes, finding the right case law to support any legal claim or denial and probably most important how to navigate a DBQ.
With all this, write your supporting statement, buddy statements and nexus letters yourself using this information and have your physician or specialist sign it. A lot of refusals for doctors not doing a nexus letter are based upon billable codes. If they can’t charge you for it, or interferes with case/workflow they won’t do it.

Personally, it's kind of stupid to even attempt a service connection without a diagnosis and six months of medical records to support your claim. To all you folks who complain, look at failures as an opportunoty to grow. Otherwise, if you just bring your negative attitudes, then, i dont blame C&P for a bad write up.
